אֵלֶּה בְנֵֽי-בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם חֲמִשָּׁה וְאַרְבָּעִים אֶלֶף וְשֵׁשׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃
These are the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
אֵלֶּה בְנֵי-דָן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְשׁוּחָם מִשְׁפַּחַת הַשּֽׁוּחָמִי אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת דָּן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
כָּל-מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַשּֽׁוּחָמִי לִפְקֻֽדֵיהֶם אַרְבָּעָה וְשִׁשִּׁים אֶלֶף וְאַרְבַּע מֵאֽוֹת׃
All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
בְּנֵי אָשֵׁר לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְיִמְנָה מִשְׁפַּחַת הַיִּמְנָה לְיִשְׁוִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַיִּשְׁוִי לִבְרִיעָה מִשְׁפַּחַת הַבְּרִיעִֽי׃
Of the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
לִבְנֵי בְרִיעָה לְחֶבֶר מִשְׁפַּחַת הַֽחֶבְרִי לְמַלְכִּיאֵל מִשְׁפַּחַת הַמַּלְכִּֽיאֵלִֽי׃
Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר לִפְקֻֽדֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה וַֽחֲמִשִּׁים אֶלֶף וְאַרְבַּע מֵאֽוֹת׃
These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
בְּנֵי נַפְתָּלִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְיַחְצְאֵל מִשְׁפַּחַת הַיַּחְצְאֵלִי לְגוּנִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַגּוּנִֽי׃
Of the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:
לְיֵצֶר מִשְׁפַּחַת הַיִּצְרִי לְשִׁלֵּם מִשְׁפַּחַת הַשִּׁלֵּמִֽי׃
Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת נַפְתָּלִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם חֲמִשָּׁה וְאַרְבָּעִים אֶלֶף וְאַרְבַּע מֵאֽוֹת׃
These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
וְאֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי הַלֵּוִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְגֵֽרְשׁוֹן מִשְׁפַּחַת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לִקְהָת מִשְׁפַּחַת הַקְּהָתִי לִמְרָרִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַמְּרָרִֽי׃
And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
אֵלֶּה׀ מִשְׁפְּחֹת לֵוִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַלִּבְנִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַֽחֶבְרֹנִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַמַּחְלִי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַמּוּשִׁי מִשְׁפַּחַת הַקָּרְחִי וּקְהָת הוֹלִד אֶת-עַמְרָֽם׃
These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
וַתִּקְרַבְנָה בְּנוֹת צְלָפְחָד בֶּן-חֵפֶר בֶּן-גִּלְעָד בֶּן-מָכִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹת מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן-יוֹסֵף וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת בְּנֹתָיו מַחְלָה נֹעָה וְחָגְלָה וּמִלְכָּה וְתִרְצָֽה׃
Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
לָמָּה יִגָּרַע שֵׁם-אָבִינוּ מִתּוֹךְ מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ כִּי אֵין לוֹ בֵּן תְּנָה-לָּנוּ אֲחֻזָּה בְּתוֹךְ אֲחֵי אָבִֽינוּ׃
Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
וְאִם-אֵין אַחִים לְאָבִיו וּנְתַתֶּם אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתוֹ לִשְׁאֵרוֹ הַקָּרֹב אֵלָיו מִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ וְיָרַשׁ אֹתָהּ וְֽהָיְתָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְחֻקַּת מִשְׁפָּט כַּֽאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת-מֹשֶֽׁה׃
And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.
וְהִתְנַֽחַלְתֶּם אֶת-הָאָרֶץ בְּגוֹרָל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶם לָרַב תַּרְבּוּ אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתוֹ וְלַמְעַט תַּמְעִיט אֶת-נַֽחֲלָתוֹ אֶל אֲשֶׁר-יֵצֵא לוֹ שָׁמָּה הַגּוֹרָל לוֹ יִֽהְיֶה לְמַטּוֹת אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם תִּתְנֶחָֽלוּ׃
And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.
וַֽיִּקְרְבוּ רָאשֵׁי הָֽאָבוֹת לְמִשְׁפַּחַת בְּנֵֽי-גִלְעָד בֶּן-מָכִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה מִֽמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי יוֹסֵף וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְלִפְנֵי הַנְּשִׂאִים רָאשֵׁי אָבוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר-צִוָּה יְהוָה לִבְנוֹת צְלָפְחָד לֵאמֹר לַטּוֹב בְּעֵֽינֵיהֶם תִּֽהְיֶינָה לְנָשִׁים אַךְ לְמִשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אֲבִיהֶם תִּֽהְיֶינָה לְנָשִֽׁים׃
This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
וְכָל-בַּת יֹרֶשֶׁת נַֽחֲלָה מִמַּטּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְאֶחָד מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אָבִיהָ תִּֽהְיֶה לְאִשָּׁה לְמַעַן יִֽירְשׁוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ נַֽחֲלַת אֲבֹתָֽיו׃
And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
מִֽמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן-יוֹסֵף הָיוּ לְנָשִׁים וַתְּהִי נַֽחֲלָתָן עַל-מַטֵּה מִשְׁפַּחַת אֲבִיהֶֽן׃
And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
פֶּן-יֵשׁ בָּכֶם אִישׁ אוֹ-אִשָּׁה אוֹ מִשְׁפָּחָה אוֹ-שֵׁבֶט אֲשֶׁר לְבָבוֹ פֹנֶה הַיּוֹם מֵעִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ לָלֶכֶת לַֽעֲבֹד אֶת-אֱלֹהֵי הַגּוֹיִם הָהֵם פֶּן-יֵשׁ בָּכֶם שֹׁרֶשׁ פֹּרֶה רֹאשׁ וְלַֽעֲנָֽה׃
Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
וַיָּבֹאוּ הַנְּעָרִים הַֽמְרַגְּלִים וַיֹּצִיאוּ אֶת-רָחָב וְאֶת-אָבִיהָ וְאֶת-אִמָּהּ וְאֶת-אַחֶיהָ וְאֶת-כָּל-אֲשֶׁר-לָהּ וְאֵת כָּל-מִשְׁפְּחוֹתֶיהָ הוֹצִיאוּ וַיַּנִּיחוּם מִחוּץ לְמַֽחֲנֵה יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
וְנִקְרַבְתֶּם בַּבֹּקֶר לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶם וְהָיָה הַשֵּׁבֶט אֲשֶׁר-יִלְכְּדֶנּוּ יְהוָה יִקְרַב לַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת וְהַמִּשְׁפָּחָה אֲשֶֽׁר-יִלְכְּדֶנָּה יְהוָה תִּקְרַב לַבָּתִּים וְהַבַּיִת אֲשֶׁר יִלְכְּדֶנּוּ יְהוָה יִקְרַב לַגְּבָרִֽים׃
In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come man by man.
וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-מִשְׁפַּחַת יְהוּדָה וַיִּלְכֹּד אֵת מִשְׁפַּחַת הַזַּרְחִי וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-מִשְׁפַּחַת הַזַּרְחִי לַגְּבָרִים וַיִּלָּכֵד זַבְדִּֽי׃
And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-רְאוּבֵן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.
וַיְהִי גְּבוּל בְּנֵי רְאוּבֵן הַיַּרְדֵּן וּגְבוּל זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵֽי-רְאוּבֵן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.
וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה-גָד לִבְנֵי-גָד לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵי-גָד לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽם׃
This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.
וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לַֽחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט מְנַשֶּׁה וַיְהִי לַֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃
And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.
וַֽחֲצִי הַגִּלְעָד וְעַשְׁתָּרוֹת וְאֶדְרֶעִי עָרֵי מַמְלְכוּת עוֹג בַּבָּשָׁן לִבְנֵי מָכִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה לַֽחֲצִי בְנֵֽי-מָכִיר לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃
And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.
וַיְהִי הַגּוֹרָל לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם אֶל-גְּבוּל אֱדוֹם מִדְבַּר-צִן נֶגְבָּה מִקְצֵה תֵימָֽן׃
This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
וּגְבוּל יָם הַיָּמָּה הַגָּדוֹל וּגְבוּל זֶה גְּבוּל בְּנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה סָבִיב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
וַיְהִי גְּבוּל בְּנֵֽי-אֶפְרַיִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וַיְהִי גְּבוּל נַֽחֲלָתָם מִזְרָחָה עַטְרוֹת אַדָּר עַד-בֵּית חוֹרֹן עֶלְיֽוֹן׃
And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth-addar, unto Beth-horon the upper;
מִתַּפּוּחַ יֵלֵךְ הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה נַחַל קָנָה וְהָיוּ תֹֽצְאֹתָיו הַיָּמָּה זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אֶפְרַיִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
וַיְהִי לִבְנֵי מְנַשֶּׁה הַנּֽוֹתָרִים לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לִבְנֵי אֲבִיעֶזֶר וְלִבְנֵי-חֵלֶק וְלִבְנֵי אַשְׂרִיאֵל וְלִבְנֵי-שֶׁכֶם וְלִבְנֵי-חֵפֶר וְלִבְנֵי שְׁמִידָע אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי מְנַשֶּׁה בֶּן-יוֹסֵף הַזְּכָרִים לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
וַיַּעַל גּוֹרַל מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וַיֵּצֵא גְּבוּל גּֽוֹרָלָם בֵּין בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּבֵין בְּנֵי יוֹסֵֽף׃
And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
וְהַיַּרְדֵּן יִגְבֹּל-אֹתוֹ לִפְאַת-קֵדְמָה זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לִגְבֽוּלֹתֶיהָ סָבִיב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
וְהָיוּ הֶֽעָרִים לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶם יְרִיחוֹ וּבֵית-חָגְלָה וְעֵמֶק קְצִֽיץ׃
Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,
וְצֵלַע הָאֶלֶף וְהַיְבוּסִי הִיא יְרֽוּשָׁלִַם גִּבְעַת קִרְיַת עָרִים אַרְבַּֽע-עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵֽי-בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל הַשֵּׁנִי לְשִׁמְעוֹן לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-שִׁמְעוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם וַֽיְהִי נַֽחֲלָתָם בְּתוֹךְ נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵֽי-יְהוּדָֽה׃
And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
וְכָל-הַֽחֲצֵרִים אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹת הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה עַד-בַּֽעֲלַת בְּאֵר רָאמַת נֶגֶב זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-שִׁמְעוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
וַיַּעַל הַגּוֹרָל הַשְּׁלִישִׁי לִבְנֵי זְבוּלֻן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וַיְהִי גְּבוּל נַֽחֲלָתָם עַד-שָׂרִֽיד׃
And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת בְּנֵֽי-זְבוּלֻן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
לְיִשָּׂשכָר יָצָא הַגּוֹרָל הָֽרְבִיעִי לִבְנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃
And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-יִשָּׂשכָר לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל הַֽחֲמִישִׁי לְמַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָֽם׃
And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-אָשֵׁר לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
לִבְנֵי נַפְתָּלִי יָצָא הַגּוֹרָל הַשִּׁשִּׁי לִבְנֵי נַפְתָּלִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃
The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵֽי-נַפְתָּלִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
לְמַטֵּה בְנֵי-דָן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם יָצָא הַגּוֹרָל הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃
And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
זֹאת נַֽחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵי-דָן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
וַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקְּהָתִי וַיְהִי לִבְנֵי אַֽהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן מִן-הַלְוִיִּם מִמַּטֵּה יְהוּדָה וּמִמַּטֵּה הַשִּׁמְעֹנִי וּמִמַּטֵּה בִנְיָמִן בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃
And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
וְלִבְנֵי קְהָת הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת מַטֵּֽה-אֶפְרַיִם וּֽמִמַּטֵּה-דָן וּמֵֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים עָֽשֶׂר׃
And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
וְלִבְנֵי גֵֽרְשׁוֹן מִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹת מַטֵּֽה-יִשָּׂשכָר וּמִמַּטֵּֽה-אָשֵׁר וּמִמַּטֵּה נַפְתָּלִי וּמֵֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה בַבָּשָׁן בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃
And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
לִבְנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם מִמַּטֵּה רְאוּבֵן וּמִמַּטֵּה-גָד וּמִמַּטֵּה זְבוּלֻן עָרִים שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃
The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
וַֽיְהִי לִבְנֵי אַֽהֲרֹן מִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹת הַקְּהָתִי מִבְּנֵי לֵוִי כִּי לָהֶם הָיָה הַגּוֹרָל רִֽאישֹׁנָֽה׃
Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.
וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בְּנֵֽי-קְהָת הַלְוִיִּם הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִבְּנֵי קְהָת וַֽיְהִי עָרֵי גֽוֹרָלָם מִמַּטֵּה אֶפְרָֽיִם׃
And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
כָּל-עָרִים עֶשֶׂר וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בְּנֵֽי-קְהָת הַנּֽוֹתָרִֽים׃
All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
וְלִבְנֵי גֵֽרְשׁוֹן מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת הַלְוִיִּם מֵֽחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה אֶת-עִיר מִקְלַט הָֽרֹצֵחַ אֶת-(גלון) גּוֹלָן בַּבָּשָׁן וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ וְאֶת-בְּעֶשְׁתְּרָה וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ עָרִים שְׁתָּֽיִם׃
And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh-terah with her suburbs; two cities.
כָּל-עָרֵי הַגֵּֽרְשֻׁנִּי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם שְׁלֹשׁ-עֶשְׂרֵה עִיר וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃
All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
וּלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בְּנֵֽי-מְרָרִי הַלְוִיִּם הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מֵאֵת מַטֵּה זְבוּלֻן אֶֽת-יָקְנְעָם וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁהָ אֶת-קַרְתָּה וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶֽׁהָ׃
And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
כָּל-הֶעָרִים לִבְנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִמִּשְׁפְּחוֹת הַלְוִיִּם וַֽיְהִי גּֽוֹרָלָם עָרִים שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃
So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
וַיַּרְאֵם אֶת-מְבוֹא הָעִיר וַיַּכּוּ אֶת-הָעִיר לְפִי-חָרֶב וְאֶת-הָאִישׁ וְאֶת-כָּל-מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ שִׁלֵּֽחוּ׃
And when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.
וַיֵּלֶךְ אֲבִימֶלֶךְ בֶּן-יְרֻבַּעַל שְׁכֶמָה אֶל-אֲחֵי אִמּוֹ וַיְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם וְאֶל-כָּל-מִשְׁפַּחַת בֵּית-אֲבִי אִמּוֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃
And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,
וַיְהִי אִישׁ אֶחָד מִצָּרְעָה מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת הַדָּנִי וּשְׁמוֹ מָנוֹחַ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ עֲקָרָה וְלֹא יָלָֽדָה׃
And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.
וַֽיְהִי-נַעַר מִבֵּית לֶחֶם יְהוּדָה מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת יְהוּדָה וְהוּא לֵוִי וְהוּא גָֽר-שָֽׁם׃
And there was a young man out of Bethlehem-judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
וַיִּשְׁלְחוּ בְנֵי-דָן׀ מִֽמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם חֲמִשָּׁה אֲנָשִׁים מִקְצוֹתָם אֲנָשִׁים בְּנֵי-חַיִל מִצָּרְעָה וּמֵֽאֶשְׁתָּאֹל לְרַגֵּל אֶת-הָאָרֶץ וּלְחָקְרָהּ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ אֲלֵהֶם לְכוּ חִקְרוּ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ וַיָּבֹאוּ הַר-אֶפְרַיִם עַד-בֵּית מִיכָה וַיָּלִינוּ שָֽׁם׃
And the children of Dan sent of their family five men from their coasts, men of valour, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to search it; and they said unto them, Go, search the land: who when they came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, they lodged there.
וַיִּסְעוּ מִשָּׁם מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת הַדָּנִי מִצָּרְעָה וּמֵֽאֶשְׁתָּאֹל שֵֽׁשׁ-מֵאוֹת אִישׁ חָגוּר כְּלֵי מִלְחָמָֽה׃
And there went from thence of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men appointed with weapons of war.
וַיֹּאמְרוּ לוֹ הַֽחֲרֵשׁ שִֽׂים-יָדְךָ עַל-פִּיךָ וְלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ וֶֽהְיֵה-לָנוּ לְאָב וּלְכֹהֵן הֲטוֹב׀ הֱיֽוֹתְךָ כֹהֵן לְבֵית אִישׁ אֶחָד אוֹ הֱיֽוֹתְךָ כֹהֵן לְשֵׁבֶט וּלְמִשְׁפָּחָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?
וַיִּתְהַלְּכוּ מִשָּׁם בְּנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּעֵת הַהִיא אִישׁ לְשִׁבְטוֹ וּלְמִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ וַיֵּֽצְאוּ מִשָּׁם אִישׁ לְנַֽחֲלָתֽוֹ׃
And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from thence every man to his inheritance.
וּֽלְנָעֳמִי (מידע) מוֹדַע לְאִישָׁהּ אִישׁ גִּבּוֹר חַיִל מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת אֱלִימֶלֶךְ וּשְׁמוֹ בֹּֽעַז׃
And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
וַתֵּלֶךְ וַתָּבוֹא וַתְּלַקֵּט בַּשָּׂדֶה אַֽחֲרֵי הַקֹּֽצְרִים וַיִּקֶר מִקְרֶהָ חֶלְקַת הַשָּׂדֶה לְבֹעַז אֲשֶׁר מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת אֱלִימֶֽלֶךְ׃
And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
וַיַּעַן שָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר הֲלוֹא בֶן-יְמִינִי אָנֹכִי מִקַּטַנֵּי שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּמִשְׁפַּחְתִּי הַצְּעִרָה מִכָּֽל-מִשְׁפְּחוֹת שִׁבְטֵי בִנְיָמִן וְלָמָּה דִּבַּרְתָּ אֵלַי כַּדָּבָר הַזֶּֽה׃
And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-שֵׁבֶט בִּנְיָמִן (למשפחתו) לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָיו וַתִּלָּכֵד מִשְׁפַּחַת הַמַּטְרִי וַיִּלָּכֵד שָׁאוּל בֶּן-קִישׁ וַיְבַקְשֻׁהוּ וְלֹא נִמְצָֽא׃
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד אֶל-שָׁאוּל מִי אָֽנֹכִי וּמִי חַיַּי מִשְׁפַּחַת אָבִי בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל כִּֽי-אֶהְיֶה חָתָן לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
And David said unto Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my father's family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?
אִם-פָּקֹד יִפְקְדֵנִי אָבִיךָ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ נִשְׁאֹל נִשְׁאַל מִמֶּנִּי דָוִד לָרוּץ בֵּֽית-לֶחֶם עִירוֹ כִּי זֶבַח הַיָּמִים שָׁם לְכָל-הַמִּשְׁפָּחָֽה׃
If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
וַיֹּאמֶר שַׁלְּחֵנִי נָא כִּי זֶבַח מִשְׁפָּחָה לָנוּ בָּעִיר וְהוּא צִוָּה-לִי אָחִי וְעַתָּה אִם-מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ אִמָּלְטָה נָּא וְאֶרְאֶה אֶת-אֶחָי עַל-כֵּן לֹא-בָא אֶל-שֻׁלְחַן הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king's table.
וְהִנֵּה קָמָה כָֽל-הַמִּשְׁפָּחָה עַל-שִׁפְחָתֶךָ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ תְּנִי׀ אֶת-מַכֵּה אָחִיו וּנְמִתֵהוּ בְּנֶפֶשׁ אָחִיו אֲשֶׁר הָרָג וְנַשְׁמִידָה גַּם אֶת-הַיּוֹרֵשׁ וְכִבּוּ אֶת-גַּֽחַלְתִּי אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁאָרָה לְבִלְתִּי (שום) שִׂים-לְאִישִׁי שֵׁם וּשְׁאֵרִית עַל-פְּנֵי הָֽאֲדָמָֽה׃
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
וּבָא הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד עַד-בַּֽחוּרִים וְהִנֵּה מִשָּׁם אִישׁ יוֹצֵא מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת בֵּית-שָׁאוּל וּשְׁמוֹ שִׁמְעִי בֶן-גֵּרָא יֹצֵא יָצוֹא וּמְקַלֵּֽל׃
And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.
וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת קִרְיַת יְעָרִים הַיִּתְרִי וְהַפּוּתִי וְהַשֻּֽׁמָתִי וְהַמִּשְׁרָעִי מֵאֵלֶּה יָֽצְאוּ הַצָּרְעָתִי וְהָאֶשְׁתָּאֻֽלִֽי׃
And the families of Kirjath-jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.
וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת סֹֽפְרִים (ישבו) יֹשְׁבֵי יַעְבֵּץ תִּרְעָתִים שִׁמְעָתִים שֽׂוּכָתִים הֵמָּה הַקִּינִים הַבָּאִים מֵֽחַמַּת אֲבִי בֵית-רֵכָֽב׃
And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
וּרְאָיָה בֶן-שׁוֹבָל הֹלִיד אֶת-יַחַת וְיַחַת הֹלִיד אֶת-אֲחוּמַי וְאֶת-לָהַד אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחוֹת הַצָּֽרְעָתִֽי׃
And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
וְקוֹץ הוֹלִיד אֶת-עָנוּב וְאֶת-הַצֹּֽבֵבָה וּמִשְׁפְּחֹת אֲחַרְחֵל בֶּן-הָרֽוּם׃
And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
בְּנֵי שֵׁלָה בֶן-יְהוּדָה עֵר אֲבִי לֵכָה וְלַעְדָּה אֲבִי מָֽרֵשָׁה וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בֵּית-עֲבֹדַת הַבֻּץ לְבֵית אַשְׁבֵּֽעַ׃
The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,
וּלְשִׁמְעִי בָּנִים שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר וּבָנוֹת שֵׁשׁ וּלְאֶחָיו אֵין בָּנִים רַבִּים וְכֹל מִשְׁפַּחְתָּם לֹא הִרְבּוּ עַד-בְּנֵי יְהוּדָֽה׃
And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Judah.
אֵלֶּה הַבָּאִים בְּשֵׁמוֹת נְשִׂיאִים בְּמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם וּבֵית אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם פָּֽרְצוּ לָרֽוֹב׃
These mentioned by their names were princes in their families: and the house of their fathers increased greatly.
וְאֶחָיו לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָיו בְּהִתְיַחֵשׂ לְתֹֽלְדוֹתָם הָרֹאשׁ יְעִיאֵל וּזְכַרְיָֽהוּ׃
And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
בְּנֵי מְרָרִי מַחְלִי וּמֻשִׁי וְאֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחוֹת הַלֵּוִי לַאֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.
וְאֵלֶּה מֽוֹשְׁבוֹתָם לְטִֽירוֹתָם בִּגְבוּלָם לִבְנֵי אַֽהֲרֹן לְמִשְׁפַּחַת הַקְּהָתִי כִּי לָהֶם הָיָה הַגּוֹרָֽל׃
Now these are their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.
וּמִמַּטֵּה בִנְיָמִן אֶת-גֶּבַע וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ וְאֶת-עָלֶמֶת וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ וְאֶת-עֲנָתוֹת וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ כָּל-עָֽרֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשׁ-עֶשְׂרֵה עִיר בְּמִשְׁפְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
וְלִבְנֵי קְהָת הַנּֽוֹתָרִים מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת הַמַּטֶּה מִֽמַּחֲצִית מַטֵּה חֲצִי מְנַשֶּׁה בַּגּוֹרָל עָרִים עָֽשֶׂר׃
And unto the sons of Kohath, which were left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.
וְלִבְנֵי גֵֽרְשׁוֹם לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם מִמַּטֵּה יִשָׂשכָר וּמִמַּטֵּה אָשֵׁר וּמִמַּטֵּה נַפְתָּלִי וּמִמַּטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה בַּבָּשָׁן עָרִים שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃
And to the sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

And the residue of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of the tribe of Ephraim.
וּמִֽמַּחֲצִית מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה אֶת-עָנֵר וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ וְאֶת-בִּלְעָם וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ לְמִשְׁפַּחַת לִבְנֵֽי-קְהָת הַנּֽוֹתָרִֽים׃
And out of the half tribe of Manasseh; Aner with her suburbs, and Bileam with her suburbs, for the family of the remnant of the sons of Kohath.
לִבְנֵי גֵּֽרְשׁוֹם מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת חֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה אֶת-גּוֹלָן בַּבָּשָׁן וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶׁיהָ וְאֶת-עַשְׁתָּרוֹת וְאֶת-מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃
Unto the sons of Gershom were given out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, and Ashtaroth with her suburbs:
וַֽאֲחֵיהֶם לְכֹל מִשְׁפְּחוֹת יִשָׂשכָר גִּבּוֹרֵי חֲיָלִים שְׁמוֹנִים וְשִׁבְעָה אֶלֶף הִתְיַחְשָׂם לַכֹּֽל׃
And their brethren among all the families of Issachar were valiant men of might, reckoned in all by their genealogies fourscore and seven thousand.
הָבוּ לַֽיהוָה מִשְׁפְּחוֹת עַמִּים הָבוּ לַֽיהוָה כָּבוֹד וָעֹֽז׃
Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
וָֽאַעֲמִיד מִֽתַּחְתִּיּוֹת לַמָּקוֹם מֵאַֽחֲרֵי לַֽחוֹמָה (בצחחיים) בַּצְּחִיחִים וָֽאַעֲמִיד אֶת-הָעָם לְמִשְׁפָּחוֹת עִם-חַרְבֹֽתֵיהֶם רָמְחֵיהֶם וְקַשְּׁתֹֽתֵיהֶֽם׃
Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
וְהַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה נִזְכָּרִים וְנַֽעֲשִׂים בְּכָל-דּוֹר וָדוֹר מִשְׁפָּחָה וּמִשְׁפָּחָה מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה וְעִיר וָעִיר וִימֵי הַפּוּרִים הָאֵלֶּה לֹא יַֽעַבְרוּ מִתּוֹךְ הַיְּהוּדִים וְזִכְרָם לֹֽא-יָסוּף מִזַּרְעָֽם׃
And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.
