Deuteronomy 21

כִּי אֶת-הַבְּכֹר בֶּן-הַשְּׂנוּאָה יַכִּיר לָתֶת לוֹ פִּי שְׁנַיִם בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-יִמָּצֵא לוֹ כִּי-הוּא רֵאשִׁית אֹנוֹ לוֹ מִשְׁפַּט הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃
17
But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

Deuteronomy 23

מוֹצָא שְׂפָתֶיךָ תִּשְׁמֹר וְעָשִׂיתָ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר נָדַרְתָּ לַֽיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נְדָבָה אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ בְּפִֽיךָ׃
23
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

Deuteronomy 30

כִּֽי-קָרוֹב אֵלֶיךָ הַדָּבָר מְאֹד בְּפִיךָ וּבִֽלְבָבְךָ לַֽעֲשֹׂתֽוֹ׃

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Deuteronomy 31

וְעַתָּה כִּתְבוּ לָכֶם אֶת-הַשִּׁירָה הַזֹּאת וְלַמְּדָהּ אֶת-בְּנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׂימָהּ בְּפִיהֶם לְמַעַן תִּֽהְיֶה-לִּי הַשִּׁירָה הַזֹּאת לְעֵד בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
19
Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
וְהָיָה כִּֽי-תִמְצֶאןָ אֹתוֹ רָעוֹת רַבּוֹת וְצָרוֹת וְעָֽנְתָה הַשִּׁירָה הַזֹּאת לְפָנָיו לְעֵד כִּי לֹא תִשָּׁכַח מִפִּי זַרְעוֹ כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת-יִצְרוֹ אֲשֶׁר הוּא עֹשֶׂה הַיּוֹם בְּטֶרֶם אֲבִיאֶנּוּ אֶל-הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבָּֽעְתִּי׃
21
And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

Deuteronomy 32

הַֽאֲזִינוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם וַֽאֲדַבֵּרָה וְתִשְׁמַע הָאָרֶץ אִמְרֵי-פִֽי׃

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

Deuteronomy 34

וַיָּמָת שָׁם מֹשֶׁה עֶֽבֶד-יְהוָה בְּאֶרֶץ מוֹאָב עַל-פִּי יְהוָֽה׃

So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.

Joshua 1

לֹֽא-יָמוּשׁ סֵפֶר הַתּוֹרָה הַזֶּה מִפִּיךָ וְהָגִיתָ בּוֹ יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה לְמַעַן תִּשְׁמֹר לַֽעֲשׂוֹת כְּכָל-הַכָּתוּב בּוֹ כִּי-אָז תַּצְלִיחַ אֶת-דְּרָכֶךָ וְאָז תַּשְׂכִּֽיל׃
8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
כָּל-אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-יַמְרֶה אֶת-פִּיךָ וְלֹֽא-יִשְׁמַע אֶת-דְּבָרֶיךָ לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר-תְּצַוֶּנּוּ יוּמָת רַק חֲזַק וֶֽאֱמָֽץ׃
18
Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

Joshua 6

וְאֶת-הָעָם צִוָּה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לֵאמֹר לֹא תָרִיעוּ וְלֹֽא-תַשְׁמִיעוּ אֶת-קֽוֹלְכֶם וְלֹֽא-יֵצֵא מִפִּיכֶם דָּבָר עַד יוֹם אָמְרִי אֲלֵיכֶם הָרִיעוּ וַהֲרִֽיעֹתֶֽם׃
10
And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
וַֽיַּחֲרִימוּ אֶת-כָּל-אֲשֶׁר בָּעִיר מֵאִישׁ וְעַד-אִשָּׁה מִנַּעַר וְעַד-זָקֵן וְעַד שׁוֹר וָשֶׂה וַֽחֲמוֹר לְפִי-חָֽרֶב׃
21
And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.

Joshua 8

וַיְהִי כְּכַלּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל לַֽהֲרֹג אֶת-כָּל-יֹֽשְׁבֵי הָעַי בַּשָּׂדֶה בַּמִּדְבָּר אֲשֶׁר רְדָפוּם בּוֹ וַֽיִּפְּלוּ כֻלָּם לְפִי-חֶרֶב עַד-תֻּמָּם וַיָּשֻׁבוּ כָל-יִשְׂרָאֵל הָעַי וַיַּכּוּ אֹתָהּ לְפִי-חָֽרֶב׃

And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.

Joshua 9

וַיִּֽתְקַבְּצוּ יַחְדָּו לְהִלָּחֵם עִם-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וְעִם-יִשְׂרָאֵל פֶּה אֶחָֽד׃

That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
וַיִּקְחוּ הָֽאֲנָשִׁים מִצֵּידָם וְאֶת-פִּי יְהוָה לֹא שָׁאָֽלוּ׃
14
And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

Joshua 10

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ גֹּלּוּ אֲבָנִים גְּדֹלוֹת אֶל-פִּי הַמְּעָרָה וְהַפְקִידוּ עָלֶיהָ אֲנָשִׁים לְשָׁמְרָֽם׃
18
And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ פִּתְחוּ אֶת-פִּי הַמְּעָרָה וְהוֹצִיאוּ אֵלַי אֶת-חֲמֵשֶׁת הַמְּלָכִים הָאֵלֶּה מִן-הַמְּעָרָֽה׃
22
Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.
וַיְהִי לְעֵת׀ בּוֹא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ צִוָּה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיֹּֽרִידוּם מֵעַל הָֽעֵצִים וַיַּשְׁלִכֻם אֶל-הַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר נֶחְבְּאוּ-שָׁם וַיָּשִׂמוּ אֲבָנִים גְּדֹלוֹת עַל-פִּי הַמְּעָרָה עַד-עֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
27
And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.
וְאֶת-מַקֵּדָה לָכַד יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא וַיַּכֶּהָ לְפִי-חֶרֶב וְאֶת-מַלְכָּהּ הֶֽחֱרִם אוֹתָם וְאֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ לֹא הִשְׁאִיר שָׂרִיד וַיַּעַשׂ לְמֶלֶךְ מַקֵּדָה כַּֽאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְמֶלֶךְ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃
28
And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה גַּם-אוֹתָהּ בְּיַד יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאֶת-מַלְכָּהּ וַיַּכֶּהָ לְפִי-חֶרֶב וְאֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ לֹֽא-הִשְׁאִיר בָּהּ שָׂרִיד וַיַּעַשׂ לְמַלְכָּהּ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְמֶלֶךְ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃

And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.
וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה אֶת-לָכִישׁ בְּיַד יִשְׂרָאֵל וַֽיִּלְכְּדָהּ בַּיּוֹם הַשֵּׁנִי וַיַּכֶּהָ לְפִי-חֶרֶב וְאֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-עָשָׂה לְלִבְנָֽה׃

And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
וַֽיִּלְכְּדוּהָ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא וַיַּכּוּהָ לְפִי-חֶרֶב וְאֵת כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא הֶֽחֱרִים כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-עָשָׂה לְלָכִֽישׁ׃
35
And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
וַיִּלְכְּדוּהָ וַיַּכּֽוּהָ-לְפִי-חֶרֶב וְאֶת-מַלְכָּהּ וְאֶת-כָּל-עָרֶיהָ וְאֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ לֹֽא-הִשְׁאִיר שָׂרִיד כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-עָשָׂה לְעֶגְלוֹן וַיַּֽחֲרֵם אוֹתָהּ וְאֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּֽהּ׃
37
And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
וַֽיִּלְכְּדָהּ וְאֶת-מַלְכָּהּ וְאֶת-כָּל-עָרֶיהָ וַיַּכּוּם לְפִי-חֶרֶב וַֽיַּחֲרִימוּ אֶת-כָּל-נֶפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ לֹא הִשְׁאִיר שָׂרִיד כַּֽאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְחֶבְרוֹן כֵּן-עָשָׂה לִדְבִרָה וּלְמַלְכָּהּ וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְלִבְנָה וּלְמַלְכָּֽהּ׃

And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.

Joshua 11

וַיַּכּוּ אֶת-כָּל-הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ לְפִי-חֶרֶב הַֽחֲרֵם לֹא נוֹתַר כָּל-נְשָׁמָה וְאֶת-חָצוֹר שָׂרַף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃
11
And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
וְֽאֶת-כָּל-עָרֵי הַמְּלָכִֽים-הָאֵלֶּה וְֽאֶת-כָּל-מַלְכֵיהֶם לָכַד יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיַּכֵּם לְפִי-חֶרֶב הֶֽחֱרִים אוֹתָם כַּֽאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יְהוָֽה׃

And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
וְכֹל שְׁלַל הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְהַבְּהֵמָה בָּֽזְזוּ לָהֶם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רַק אֶֽת-כָּל-הָאָדָם הִכּוּ לְפִי-חֶרֶב עַד-הִשְׁמִדָם אוֹתָם לֹא הִשְׁאִירוּ כָּל-נְשָׁמָֽה׃
14
And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

Joshua 15

וּלְכָלֵב בֶּן-יְפֻנֶּה נָתַן חֵלֶק בְּתוֹךְ בְּנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה אֶל-פִּי יְהוָה לִֽיהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶת-קִרְיַת אַרְבַּע אֲבִי הָֽעֲנָק הִיא חֶבְרֽוֹן׃
13
And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

Joshua 17

וַתִּקְרַבְנָה לִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְלִפְנֵי׀ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן-נוּן וְלִפְנֵי הַנְּשִׂיאִים לֵאמֹר יְהוָה צִוָּה אֶת-מֹשֶׁה לָֽתֶת-לָנוּ נַֽחֲלָה בְּתוֹךְ אַחֵינוּ וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם אֶל-פִּי יְהוָה נַֽחֲלָה בְּתוֹךְ אֲחֵי אֲבִיהֶֽן׃

And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

Joshua 18

הָבוּ לָכֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים לַשָּׁבֶט וְאֶשְׁלָחֵם וְיָקֻמוּ וְיִֽתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְיִכְתְּבוּ אוֹתָהּ לְפִי נַֽחֲלָתָם וְיָבֹאוּ אֵלָֽי׃
4
Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

Joshua 19

וַיֵּצֵא גְבוּל-בְּנֵי-דָן מֵהֶם וַיַּֽעֲלוּ בְנֵי-דָן וַיִּלָּֽחֲמוּ עִם-לֶשֶׁם וַיִּלְכְּדוּ אוֹתָהּ׀ וַיַּכּוּ אוֹתָהּ לְפִי-חֶרֶב וַיִּֽרְשׁוּ אוֹתָהּ וַיֵּשְׁבוּ בָהּ וַיִּקְרְאוּ לְלֶשֶׁם דָּן כְּשֵׁם דָּן אֲבִיהֶֽם׃

And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
עַל-פִּי יְהוָה נָתְנוּ לוֹ אֶת-הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר שָׁאָל אֶת-תִּמְנַת-סֶרַח בְּהַר אֶפְרָיִם וַיִּבְנֶה אֶת-הָעִיר וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּֽהּ׃

According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnath-serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

Joshua 21

וַיִּתְּנוּ בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל לַלְוִיִּם מִנַּֽחֲלָתָם אֶל-פִּי יְהוָה אֶת-הֶֽעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְאֶת-מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃
3
And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

Joshua 22

וַיָּשֻׁבוּ וַיֵּֽלְכוּ בְּנֵֽי-רְאוּבֵן וּבְנֵי-גָד וַֽחֲצִי׀ שֵׁבֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה מֵאֵת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִשִּׁלֹה אֲשֶׁר בְּאֶֽרֶץ-כְּנָעַן לָלֶכֶת אֶל-אֶרֶץ הַגִּלְעָד אֶל-אֶרֶץ אֲחֻזָּתָם אֲשֶׁר נֹֽאחֲזוּ-בָהּ עַל-פִּי יְהוָה בְּיַד-מֹשֶֽׁה׃

And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

Judges 1

וַיִּלָּֽחֲמוּ בְנֵֽי-יְהוּדָה בִּירוּשָׁלִַם וַיִּלְכְּדוּ אוֹתָהּ וַיַּכּוּהָ לְפִי-חָרֶב וְאֶת-הָעִיר שִׁלְּחוּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃

Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
וַיַּרְאֵם אֶת-מְבוֹא הָעִיר וַיַּכּוּ אֶת-הָעִיר לְפִי-חָרֶב וְאֶת-הָאִישׁ וְאֶת-כָּל-מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ שִׁלֵּֽחוּ׃

And when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.

Judges 4

וַיָּהָם יְהוָה אֶת-סִֽיסְרָא וְאֶת-כָּל-הָרֶכֶב וְאֶת-כָּל-הַֽמַּחֲנֶה לְפִי-חֶרֶב לִפְנֵי בָרָק וַיֵּרֶד סִֽיסְרָא מֵעַל הַמֶּרְכָּבָה וַיָּנָס בְּרַגְלָֽיו׃

And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
וּבָרָק רָדַף אַֽחֲרֵי הָרֶכֶב וְאַֽחֲרֵי הַֽמַּחֲנֶה עַד חֲרֹשֶׁת הַגּוֹיִם וַיִּפֹּל כָּל-מַֽחֲנֵה סִֽיסְרָא לְפִי-חֶרֶב לֹא נִשְׁאַר עַד-אֶחָֽד׃
16
But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

Judges 7

וַיְהִי מִסְפַּר הַֽמֲלַקְקִים בְּיָדָם אֶל-פִּיהֶם שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וְכֹל יֶתֶר הָעָם כָּֽרְעוּ עַל-בִּרְכֵיהֶם לִשְׁתּוֹת מָֽיִם׃
6
And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

Judges 9

וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו זְבֻל אַיֵּה אֵפוֹא פִיךָ אֲשֶׁר תֹּאמַר מִי אֲבִימֶלֶךְ כִּי נַֽעַבְדֶנּוּ הֲלֹא זֶה הָעָם אֲשֶׁר מָאַסְתָּה בּוֹ צֵא-נָא עַתָּה וְהִלָּחֶם בּֽוֹ׃

Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

Judges 11

וַיְהִי כִרְאוֹתוֹ אוֹתָהּ וַיִּקְרַע אֶת-בְּגָדָיו וַיֹּאמֶר אֲהָהּ בִּתִּי הַכְרֵעַ הִכְרַעְתִּנִי וְאַתְּ הָיִיתְ בְּעֹֽכְרָי וְאָֽנֹכִי פָּצִיתִי-פִי אֶל-יְהוָה וְלֹא אוּכַל לָשֽׁוּב׃

And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought very me low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.
וַתֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אָבִי פָּצִיתָה אֶת-פִּיךָ אֶל-יְהוָה עֲשֵׂה לִי כַּֽאֲשֶׁר יָצָא מִפִּיךָ אַֽחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְךָ יְהוָה נְקָמוֹת מֵאֹֽיְבֶיךָ מִבְּנֵי עַמּֽוֹן׃

And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.

Judges 18

וַיֹּאמְרוּ לוֹ הַֽחֲרֵשׁ שִֽׂים-יָדְךָ עַל-פִּיךָ וְלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ וֶֽהְיֵה-לָנוּ לְאָב וּלְכֹהֵן הֲטוֹב׀ הֱיֽוֹתְךָ כֹהֵן לְבֵית אִישׁ אֶחָד אוֹ הֱיֽוֹתְךָ כֹהֵן לְשֵׁבֶט וּלְמִשְׁפָּחָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?
וְהֵמָּה לָֽקְחוּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר-עָשָׂה מִיכָה וְֽאֶת-הַכֹּהֵן אֲשֶׁר הָֽיָה-לוֹ וַיָּבֹאוּ עַל-לַיִשׁ עַל-עַם שֹׁקֵט וּבֹטֵחַ וַיַּכּוּ אוֹתָם לְפִי-חָרֶב וְאֶת-הָעִיר שָֽׂרְפוּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃

And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire.

And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.

וַתִּתְפַּלֵּל חַנָּה וַתֹּאמַר עָלַץ לִבִּי בַּֽיהוָה רָמָה קַרְנִי בַּֽיהוָה רָחַב פִּי עַל-אוֹיְבַי כִּי שָׂמַחְתִּי בִּישֽׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃

And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
אַל-תַּרְבּוּ תְדַבְּרוּ גְּבֹהָה גְבֹהָה יֵצֵא עָתָק מִפִּיכֶם כִּי אֵל דֵּעוֹת יְהוָה ‫(ולא)‬ וְלוֹ נִתְכְּנוּ עֲלִלֽוֹת׃

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

1 Samuel 12

אִם-תִּֽירְאוּ אֶת-יְהוָה וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם אֹתוֹ וּשְׁמַעְתֶּם בְּקוֹלוֹ וְלֹא תַמְרוּ אֶת-פִּי יְהוָה וִֽהְיִתֶם גַּם-אַתֶּם וְגַם-הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲשֶׁר מָלַךְ עֲלֵיכֶם אַחַר יְהוָה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם׃

If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:
וְאִם-לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ בְּקוֹל יְהוָה וּמְרִיתֶם אֶת-פִּי יְהוָה וְהָֽיְתָה יַד-יְהוָה בָּכֶם וּבַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃

But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

1 Samuel 13

Yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to sharpen the goads.

And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.

And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
וְעַתָּה הִנֵּה נָתַן יְהוָה רוּחַ שֶׁקֶר בְּפִי כָּל-נְבִיאֶיךָ אֵלֶּה וַֽיהוָה דִּבֶּר עָלֶיךָ רָעָֽה׃

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

2 Kings 4

וַיַּעַל וַיִּשְׁכַּב עַל-הַיֶּלֶד וַיָּשֶׂם פִּיו עַל-פִּיו וְעֵינָיו עַל-עֵינָיו וְכַפָּיו עַל-‫(כפו)‬ כַּפָּיו וַיִּגְהַר עָלָיו וַיָּחָם בְּשַׂר הַיָּֽלֶד׃

And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

2 Kings 10

וַיִּשְׁלַח יֵהוּא בְּכָל-יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיָּבֹאוּ כָּל-עֹֽבְדֵי הַבַּעַל וְלֹֽא-נִשְׁאַר אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא-בָא וַיָּבֹאוּ בֵּית הַבַּעַל וַיִּמָּלֵא בֵית-הַבַּעַל פֶּה לָפֶֽה׃

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
וַיְהִי כְּכַלֹּתוֹ׀ לַֽעֲשׂוֹת הָֽעֹלָה וַיֹּאמֶר יֵהוּא לָֽרָצִים וְלַשָּֽׁלִשִׁים בֹּאוּ הַכּוּם אִישׁ אַל-יֵצֵא וַיַּכּוּם לְפִי-חָרֶב וַיַּשְׁלִכוּ הָֽרָצִים וְהַשָּׁלִשִׁים וַיֵּֽלְכוּ עַד-עִיר בֵּית-הַבָּֽעַל׃

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

2 Kings 21

וְגַם דָּם נָקִי שָׁפַךְ מְנַשֶּׁה הַרְבֵּה מְאֹד עַד אֲשֶׁר-מִלֵּא אֶת-יְרֽוּשָׁלִַם פֶּה לָפֶה לְבַד מֵֽחַטָּאתוֹ אֲשֶׁר הֶֽחֱטִיא אֶת-יְהוּדָה לַֽעֲשׂוֹת הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָֽה׃

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

2 Kings 23

וְהַכֶּסֶף וְהַזָּהָב נָתַן יְהֽוֹיָקִים לְפַרְעֹה אַךְ הֶֽעֱרִיךְ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ לָתֵת אֶת-הַכֶּסֶף עַל-פִּי פַרְעֹה אִישׁ כְּעֶרְכּוֹ נָגַשׂ אֶת-הַכֶּסֶף וְאֶת-הַזָּהָב אֶת-עַם הָאָרֶץ לָתֵת לְפַרְעֹה נְכֹֽה׃

And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.

Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;

וּמִבְּנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר יֽוֹדְעֵי בִינָה לַֽעִתִּים לָדַעַת מַה-יַּֽעֲשֶׂה יִשְׂרָאֵל רָֽאשֵׁיהֶם מָאתַיִם וְכָל-אֲחֵיהֶם עַל-פִּיהֶֽם׃

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

זִכְרוּ נִפְלְאֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה מֹֽפְתָיו וּמִשְׁפְּטֵי-פִֽיהוּ׃

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

2 Chronicles 6

וַיֹּאמֶר בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּפִיו אֵת דָּוִיד אָבִי וּבְיָדָיו מִלֵּא לֵאמֹֽר׃

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,
אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַרְתָּ לְעַבְדְּךָ דָּוִיד אָבִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר-דִּבַּרְתָּ לוֹ וַתְּדַבֵּר בְּפִיךָ וּבְיָֽדְךָ מִלֵּאתָ כַּיּוֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
15
Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

2 Chronicles 18

וְהַמַּלְאָךְ אֲשֶׁר-הָלַךְ׀ לִקְרֹא לְמִיכָיְהוּ דִּבֶּר אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה דִּבְרֵי הַנְּבִאִים פֶּֽה-אֶחָד טוֹב אֶל-הַמֶּלֶךְ וִֽיהִי-נָא דְבָֽרְךָ כְּאַחַד מֵהֶם וְדִבַּרְתָּ טּֽוֹב׃

And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵצֵא וְהָיִיתִי לְרוּחַ שֶׁקֶר בְּפִי כָּל-נְבִיאָיו וַיֹּאמֶר תְּפַתֶּה וְגַם-תּוּכָל צֵא וַֽעֲשֵׂה-כֵֽן׃

And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
וְעַתָּה הִנֵּה נָתַן יְהוָה רוּחַ שֶׁקֶר בְּפִי נְבִיאֶיךָ אֵלֶּה וַֽיהוָה דִּבֶּר עָלֶיךָ רָעָֽה׃
22
Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

2 Chronicles 31

וַיַּֽעֲמֵד יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ אֶת-מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּֽהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם עַֽל-מַחְלְקוֹתָם אִישׁ׀ כְּפִי עֲבֹֽדָתוֹ לַכֹּֽהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם לְעֹלָה וְלִשְׁלָמִים לְשָׁרֵת וּלְהֹדוֹת וּלְהַלֵּל בְּשַֽׁעֲרֵי מַֽחֲנוֹת יְהוָֽה׃

And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.

2 Chronicles 35

וְלֹֽא-הֵסֵב יֹֽאשִׁיָּהוּ פָנָיו מִמֶּנּוּ כִּי לְהִלָּחֵֽם-בּוֹ הִתְחַפֵּשׂ וְלֹא שָׁמַע אֶל-דִּבְרֵי נְכוֹ מִפִּי אֱלֹהִים וַיָּבֹא לְהִלָּחֵם בְּבִקְעַת מְגִדּֽוֹ׃

Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

2 Chronicles 36

וַיַּעַשׂ הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהָיו לֹא נִכְנַע מִלִּפְנֵי יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא מִפִּי יְהוָֽה׃

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
לְמַלֹּאות דְּבַר-יְהוָה בְּפִי יִרְמְיָהוּ עַד-רָֽצְתָה הָאָרֶץ אֶת-שַׁבְּתוֹתֶיהָ כָּל-יְמֵי הָשַּׁמָּה שָׁבָתָה לְמַלֹּאות שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָֽה׃

To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

Ezra 9

אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתָ בְּיַד עֲבָדֶיךָ הַנְּבִיאִים לֵאמֹר הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם בָּאִים לְרִשְׁתָּהּ אֶרֶץ נִדָּה הִיא בְּנִדַּת עַמֵּי הָֽאֲרָצוֹת בְּתוֹעֲבֹֽתֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר מִלְאוּהָ מִפֶּה אֶל-פֶּה בְּטֻמְאָתָֽם׃

Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
