And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες καὶ ἰδού ζῶμεν ὡς παιδευόμενοι καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
καθ' ἡμέραν ἀποθνῄσκω νὴ τὴν ἡμετέραν καύχησιν ἣν ἔχω ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
διάκονοι Χριστοῦ εἰσιν παραφρονῶν λαλῶ ὑπὲρ ἐγώ· ἐν κόποις περισσοτέρως ἐν πληγαῖς ὑπερβαλλόντως ἐν φυλακαῖς περισσοτέρως ἐν θανάτοις πολλάκις
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
Ἔχομεν δὲ τὸν θησαυρὸν τοῦτον ἐν ὀστρακίνοις σκεύεσιν ἵνα ἡ ὑπερβολὴ τῆς δυνάμεως ᾖ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ μὴ ἐξ ἡμῶν·
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
ἐγὼ δέ ἀδελφοί εἰ περιτομὴν ἔτι κηρύσσω τί ἔτι διώκομαι ἄρα κατήργηται τὸ σκάνδαλον τοῦ σταυροῦ
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the of offence the cross ceased.
καθὼς γέγραπται ὅτι Ἕνεκά σοῦ θανατούμεθα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐλογίσθημεν ὡς πρόβατα σφαγῆς
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
