μάρτυς γάρ μου ἐστιν ὁ θεός ὡς ἐπιποθῶ πάντας ὑμᾶς ἐν σπλάγχνοις Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ
For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
ὃς δ' ἂν ἔχῃ τὸν βίον τοῦ κόσμου καὶ θεωρῇ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχοντα καὶ κλείσῃ τὰ σπλάγχνα αὐτοῦ ἀπ' αὐτοῦ πῶς ἡ ἀγάπη τοῦ Θεοῦ μένει ἐν αὐτῷ
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
וְאַף הֲסִיתְךָ׀ מִפִּי-צָר רַחַב לֹא-מוּצָק תַּחְתֶּיהָ וְנַחַת שֻׁלְחָנְךָ מָלֵא דָֽשֶׁן׃
Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
טוֹב מַרְאֵה עֵינַיִם מֵֽהֲלָךְ-נָפֶשׁ גַּם-זֶה הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רֽוּחַ׃
Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
בְּֽלֶכְתְּךָ לֹא-יֵצַר צַעֲדֶךָ וְאִם-תָּרוּץ לֹא תִכָּשֵֽׁל׃
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
