I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
וְיָדַעְתִּי אֱלֹהַי כִּי אַתָּה בֹּחֵן לֵבָב וּמֵֽישָׁרִים תִּרְצֶה אֲנִי בְּיֹשֶׁר לְבָבִי הִתְנַדַּבְתִּי כָל-אֵלֶּה וְעַתָּה עַמְּךָ הַנִּמְצְאוּ-פֹה רָאִיתִי בְשִׂמְחָה לְהִֽתְנַדֶּב-לָֽךְ׃
I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
דַּבֵּר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִקְחוּ-לִי תְּרוּמָה מֵאֵת כָּל-אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ תִּקְחוּ אֶת-תְּרֽוּמָתִֽי׃
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
נֶֽפֶשׁ-בְּרָכָה תְדֻשָּׁן וּמַרְוֶה גַּם-הוּא יוֹרֶֽא׃
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
כִּֽי-יִהְיֶה בְךָ אֶבְיוֹן מֵֽאַחַד אַחֶיךָ בְּאַחַד שְׁעָרֶיךָ בְּאַרְצְךָ אֲשֶׁר-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָךְ לֹא תְאַמֵּץ אֶת-לְבָֽבְךָ וְלֹא תִקְפֹּץ אֶת-יָדְךָ מֵֽאָחִיךָ הָֽאֶבְיֽוֹן׃
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
טֽוֹב-עַיִן הוּא יְבֹרָךְ כִּֽי-נָתַן מִלַּחְמוֹ לַדָּֽל׃
He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
εἴτε ὁ παρακαλῶν ἐν τῇ παρακλήσει· ὁ μεταδιδοὺς ἐν ἁπλότητι ὁ προϊστάμενος ἐν σπουδῇ ὁ ἐλεῶν ἐν ἱλαρότητι
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
קְחוּ מֵֽאִתְּכֶם תְּרוּמָה לַֽיהוָה כֹּל נְדִיב לִבּוֹ יְבִיאֶהָ אֵת תְּרוּמַת יְהוָה זָהָב וָכֶסֶף וּנְחֹֽשֶׁת׃
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
אַל-תִּלְחַם אֶת-לֶחֶם רַע עָיִן וְאַל-(תתאו) תִּתְאָיו לְמַטְעַמֹּתָֽיו׃
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
וְנָדִיב נְדִיבוֹת יָעָץ וְהוּא עַל-נְדִיבוֹת יָקֽוּם׃
But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
μὴ στενάζετε κατ' ἀλλήλων ἀδελφοί ἵνα μὴ κατακριθῆτε· ἰδού κριτὴς πρὸ τῶν θυρῶν ἕστηκεν
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
הַֽעֲנֵיק תַּֽעֲנִיק לוֹ מִצֹּאנְךָ וּמִֽגָּרְנְךָ וּמִיִּקְבֶךָ אֲשֶׁר בֵּֽרַכְךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ תִּתֶּן-לֽוֹ׃
Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.
לֹֽא-יִקָּרֵא עוֹד לְנָבָל נָדִיב וּלְכִילַי לֹא יֵֽאָמֵר שֽׁוֹעַ׃
The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
