יְהוּדָה וְאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵמָּה רֹכְלָיִךְ בְּחִטֵּי מִנִּית וּפַנַּג וּדְבַשׁ וָשֶׁמֶן וָצֹרִי נָתְנוּ מַעֲרָבֵֽךְ׃
Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
Οὐαί σοι Χοραζίν οὐαί σοι Βηθσαϊδάν· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἐγένοντο αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν ὑμῖν πάλαι ἂν ἐν σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ μετενόησαν
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
καὶ ἐπῄνεσεν ὁ κύριος τὸν οἰκονόμον τῆς ἀδικίας ὅτι φρονίμως ἐποίησεν· ὅτι οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου φρονιμώτεροι ὑπὲρ τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ φωτὸς εἰς τὴν γενεὰν τὴν ἑαυτῶν εἰσιν
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
ἢ τίς βασιλεὺς πορευόμενος συμβαλεῖν ἑτέρῳ βασιλεῖ εἰς πόλεμον οὐχὶ καθίσας πρῶτον βουλεύεται εἰ δυνατός ἐστιν ἐν δέκα χιλιάσιν ἀπαντῆσαι τῷ μετὰ εἴκοσι χιλιάδων ἐρχομένῳ ἐπ' αὐτόν
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth down not first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
וְהִיא לֹא יָֽדְעָה כִּי אָֽנֹכִי נָתַתִּי לָהּ הַדָּגָן וְהַתִּירוֹשׁ וְהַיִּצְהָר וְכֶסֶף הִרְבֵּיתִי לָהּ וְזָהָב עָשׂוּ לַבָּֽעַל׃
For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
עֲלוּ הָהָר וַהֲבֵאתֶם עֵץ וּבְנוּ הַבָּיִת וְאֶרְצֶה-בּוֹ (ואכבד) וְאֶכָּבְדָה אָמַר יְהוָֽה׃
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
וְהִנֵּה לַֽחֹטְבִים לְֽכֹרְתֵי הָֽעֵצִים נָתַתִּי חִטִּים׀ מַכּוֹת לַֽעֲבָדֶיךָ כֹּרִים עֶשְׂרִים אֶלֶף וּשְׂעֹרִים כֹּרִים עֶשְׂרִים אָלֶף וְיַיִן בַּתִּים עֶשְׂרִים אֶלֶף וְשֶׁמֶן בַּתִּים עֶשְׂרִים אָֽלֶף׃
And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.
מִֽהְיוֹתָם בָּא אֶל-עֲרֵמַת עֶשְׂרִים וְהָיְתָה עֲשָׂרָה בָּא אֶל-הַיֶּקֶב לַחְשֹׂף חֲמִשִּׁים פּוּרָה וְהָיְתָה עֶשְׂרִֽים׃
Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
וְגַם-אֲנִי נָתַתִּי לָכֶם נִקְיוֹן שִׁנַּיִם בְּכָל-עָרֵיכֶם וְחֹסֶר לֶחֶם בְּכֹל מְקוֹמֹֽתֵיכֶם וְלֹֽא-שַׁבְתֶּם עָדַי נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
עֲבָדַי יֹרִדוּ מִן-הַלְּבָנוֹן יָמָּה וַֽאֲנִי אֲשִׂימֵם דֹּֽבְרוֹת בַּיָּם עַֽד-הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר-תִּשְׁלַח אֵלַי וְנִפַּצְתִּים שָׁם וְאַתָּה תִשָּׂא וְאַתָּה תַּֽעֲשֶׂה אֶת-חֶפְצִי לָתֵת לֶחֶם בֵּיתִֽי׃
My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
אַל-תֵּצֵא לָרִב מַהֵר פֶּן מַה-תַּעֲשֶׂה בְּאַחֲרִיתָהּ בְּהַכְלִים אֹתְךָ רֵעֶֽךָ׃
Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
אִם-רוּחַ הַמּוֹשֵׁל תַּעֲלֶה עָלֶיךָ מְקוֹמְךָ אַל-תַּנַּח כִּי מַרְפֵּא יַנִּיחַ חֲטָאִים גְּדוֹלִֽים׃
If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.
וְשָׁב הַגְּבוּל הָֽרָמָה וְעַד-עִיר מִבְצַר-צֹר וְשָׁב הַגְּבוּל חֹסָה (ויהיו) וְהָיוּ תֹֽצְאֹתָיו הַיָּמָּה מֵחֶבֶל אַכְזִֽיבָה׃
And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
וְעַתָּה הַֽחִטִּים וְהַשְּׂעֹרִים הַשֶּׁמֶן וְהַיַּיִן אֲשֶׁר אָמַר אֲדֹנִי יִשְׁלַח לַֽעֲבָדָֽיו׃
Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:
חֵמָה אֵין לִי מִֽי-יִתְּנֵנִי שָׁמִיר שַׁיִת בַּמִּלְחָמָה אֶפְשְׂעָה בָהּ אֲצִיתֶנָּה יָּֽחַד׃
Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.
פּוֹטֵֽר מַיִם רֵאשִׁית מָדוֹן וְלִפְנֵי הִתְגַּלַּע הָרִיב נְטֽוֹשׁ׃
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
מַשָּׂא צֹר הֵילִילוּ׀ אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ כִּֽי-שֻׁדַּד מִבַּיִת מִבּוֹא מֵאֶרֶץ כִּתִּים נִגְלָה-לָֽמוֹ׃
The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
וַיְהִי גְּבוּל הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי מִצִּידֹן בֹּֽאֲכָה גְרָרָה עַד-עַזָּה בֹּֽאֲכָה סְדֹמָה וַֽעֲמֹרָה וְאַדְמָה וּצְבֹיִם עַד-לָֽשַׁע׃
And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
