So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
וַיִּשְׁלַח הָעָם שִׁלֹה וַיִּשְׂאוּ מִשָּׁם אֵת אֲרוֹן בְּרִית-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרֻבִים וְשָׁם שְׁנֵי בְנֵֽי-עֵלִי עִם-אֲרוֹן בְּרִית הָֽאֱלֹהִים חָפְנִי וּפִֽינְחָֽס׃
So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
וַיַּֽעַשׂ-לוֹ בָתִּים בְּעִיר דָּוִיד וַיָּכֶן מָקוֹם לַֽאֲרוֹן הָֽאֱלֹהִים וַיֶּט-לוֹ אֹֽהֶל׃
And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
וַיָּשִׂימוּ לָהֶם אֶת-פֶּסֶל מִיכָה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה כָּל-יְמֵי הֱיוֹת בֵּית-הָֽאֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃
And they set them up Micah's graven image, which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.

For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that season in the high place at Gibeon.
וַיְגָרֶשׁ מִפְּנֵיהֶם׀ גּוֹיִם וַֽיַּפִּילֵם בְּחֶבֶל נַחֲלָה וַיַּשְׁכֵּן בְּאָהֳלֵיהֶם שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
εἰ γὰρ αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς κατέπαυσεν οὐκ ἂν περὶ ἄλλης ἐλάλει μετὰ ταῦτα ἡμέρας
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not have afterward spoken of another day.
וַֽיַּעֲלוּ אֶת-אֲרוֹן יְהוָה וְאֶת-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְאֶת-כָּל-כְּלֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר בָּאֹהֶל וַיַּֽעֲלוּ אֹתָם הַכֹּֽהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃
And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
וְאֵת׀ צָדוֹק הַכֹּהֵן וְאֶחָיו הַכֹּהֲנִים לִפְנֵי מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה בַּבָּמָה אֲשֶׁר בְּגִבְעֽוֹן׃
And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
הִנֵּה אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית אֲדוֹן כָּל-הָאָרֶץ עֹבֵר לִפְנֵיכֶם בַּיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל-הַכֹּֽהֲנִים לֵאמֹר שְׂאוּ אֶת-אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וְעִבְרוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָם וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת-אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וַיֵּֽלְכוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָֽם׃
And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
וַיֹּסֶף עוֹד דָּוִד אֶת-כָּל-בָּחוּר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁלֹשִׁים אָֽלֶף׃
Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
