And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
ὅπου πρόδρομος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν εἰσῆλθεν Ἰησοῦς κατὰ τὴν τάξιν Μελχισέδεκ ἀρχιερεὺς γενόμενος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
אֶקְרָא לֵֽאלֹהִים עֶלְיוֹן לָאֵל גֹּמֵר עָלָֽי׃
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
בַּמָּה אֲקַדֵּם יְהוָה אִכַּף לֵאלֹהֵי מָרוֹם הַאֲקַדְּמֶנּוּ בְעוֹלוֹת בַּעֲגָלִים בְּנֵי שָׁנָֽה׃
Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
וַֽיִּזְכְּרוּ כִּֽי-אֱלֹהִים צוּרָם וְאֵל עֶלְיוֹן גֹּאֲלָֽם׃
And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
עַל-כֵּן קָרָא לַבְּאֵר בְּאֵר לַחַי רֹאִי הִנֵּה בֵין-קָדֵשׁ וּבֵין בָּֽרֶד׃
Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
אַנְתְּה מַלְכָּא אֱלָהָא עִלָּיָא מַלְכוּתָא וּרְבוּתָא וִיקָרָא וְהַדְרָא יְהַב לִנְבֻכַדְנֶצַּר אֲבֽוּךְ׃
O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
καὶ κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ εἶπεν Τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί Ἰησοῦ υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου ὁρκίζω σε τὸν θεόν μή με βασανίσῃς
And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
וַיְהִי בְשָׁלֵם סוּכּוֹ וּמְעוֹנָתוֹ בְצִיּֽוֹן׃
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
αὕτη κατακολουθήσασα τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ ἡμῖν ἔκραζεν λέγουσα Οὗτοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι δοῦλοι τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου εἰσίν οἵτινες καταγγέλλουσιν ἡμῖν ὁδὸν σωτηρίας
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
מִי הֵעִיר מִמִּזְרָח צֶדֶק יִקְרָאֵהוּ לְרַגְלוֹ יִתֵּן לְפָנָיו גּוֹיִם וּמְלָכִים יַרְדְּ יִתֵּן כֶּֽעָפָר חַרְבּוֹ כְּקַשׁ נִדָּף קַשְׁתּֽוֹ׃
Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
וּמִן-בְּנֵי אֲנָשָׁא טְרִיד וְלִבְבֵהּ׀ עִם-חֵיוְתָא שַׁוִּי וְעִם-עֲרָֽדַיָּא מְדוֹרֵהּ עִשְׂבָּא כְתוֹרִין יְטַעֲמוּנֵּהּ וּמִטַּל שְׁמַיָּא גִּשְׁמֵהּ יִצְטַבַּע עַד דִּֽי-יְדַע דִּֽי-שַׁלִּיט אֱלָהָא עִלָּיָא בְּמַלְכוּת אֲנָשָׁא וּלְמַן-דִּי יִצְבֵּא יְהָקֵים עֲלַֽיהּ׃
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
אָֽתַיָּא וְתִמְהַיָּא דִּי עֲבַד עִמִּי אֱלָהָא עִלָּיָא שְׁפַר קָֽדָמַי לְהַחֲוָיָֽה׃
I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
וַיְנַסּוּ וַיַּמְרוּ אֶת-אֱלֹהִים עֶלְיוֹן וְעֵדוֹתָיו לֹא שָׁמָֽרוּ׃
Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
