Hebrews 7:23

καὶ οἱ μὲν πλείονές εἰσιν γεγονότες ἱερεῖς διὰ τὸ θανάτῳ κωλύεσθαι παραμένειν·
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
