He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

Deuteronomy 4:11

וַתִּקְרְבוּן וַתַּֽעַמְדוּן תַּחַת הָהָר וְהָהָר בֹּעֵר בָּאֵשׁ עַד-לֵב הַשָּׁמַיִם חֹשֶׁךְ עָנָן וַֽעֲרָפֶֽל׃

And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

Exodus 24:16

וַיִּשְׁכֹּן כְּבוֹד-יְהוָה עַל-הַר סִינַי וַיְכַסֵּהוּ הֶֽעָנָן שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים וַיִּקְרָא אֶל-מֹשֶׁה בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי מִתּוֹךְ הֶֽעָנָֽן׃

And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

Romans 11:33

βάθος πλούτου καὶ σοφίας καὶ γνώσεως θεοῦ· ὡς ἀνεξερεύνητα τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνεξιχνίαστοι αἱ ὁδοὶ αὐτοῦ

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Exodus 20:21

וַיַּֽעֲמֹד הָעָם מֵֽרָחֹק וּמֹשֶׁה נִגַּשׁ אֶל-הָֽעֲרָפֶל אֲשֶׁר-שָׁם הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃

And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

Psalms 77:19

בַּיָּם דַּרְכֶּךָ וּֽשְׁבִֽילְךָ בְּמַיִם רַבִּים וְעִקְּבוֹתֶיךָ לֹא נֹדָֽעוּ׃

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
