וְחִכִּיתִי לַיהוָה הַמַּסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִבֵּית יַעֲקֹב וְקִוֵּיתִֽי-לֽוֹ׃
And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
וְהָיָה׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֹֽא-יוֹסִיף עוֹד שְׁאָר יִשְׂרָאֵל וּפְלֵיטַת בֵּֽית-יַעֲקֹב לְהִשָּׁעֵן עַל-מַכֵּהוּ וְנִשְׁעַן עַל-יְהוָה קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל בֶּאֱמֶֽת׃
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
עוֹד הַיּוֹם בְּנֹב לַֽעֲמֹד יְנֹפֵף יָדוֹ הַר (בית) בַּת-צִיּוֹן גִּבְעַת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
וְעֹלְלֵיהֶם יְרֻטְּשׁוּ לְעֵֽינֵיהֶם יִשַּׁסּוּ בָּֽתֵּיהֶם וּנְשֵׁיהֶם (תשגלנה) תִּשָּׁכַֽבְנָה׃
Their children also shall be dashed pieces to before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
וְרָבְצוּ-שָׁם צִיִּים וּמָלְאוּ בָתֵּיהֶם אֹחִים וְשָׁכְנוּ שָׁם בְּנוֹת יַֽעֲנָה וּשְׂעִירִים יְרַקְּדוּ-שָֽׁם׃
But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
כִּי יְרַחֵם יְהוָה אֶֽת-יַעֲקֹב וּבָחַר עוֹד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וְהִנִּיחָם עַל-אַדְמָתָם וְנִלְוָה הַגֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם וְנִסְפְּחוּ עַל-בֵּית יַעֲקֹֽב׃
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
וּלְקָחוּם עַמִּים וֶהֱבִיאוּם אֶל-מְקוֹמָם וְהִֽתְנַחֲלוּם בֵּֽית-יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אַדְמַת יְהוָה לַעֲבָדִים וְלִשְׁפָחוֹת וְהָיוּ שֹׁבִים לְשֹֽׁבֵיהֶם וְרָדוּ בְּנֹגְשֵׂיהֶֽם׃
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
שָׂם תֵּבֵל כַּמִּדְבָּר וְעָרָיו הָרָס אֲסִירָיו לֹא-פָתַח בָּֽיְתָה׃
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
כָּל-מַלְכֵי גוֹיִם כֻּלָּם שָׁכְבוּ בְכָבוֹד אִישׁ בְּבֵיתֽוֹ׃
All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
וַיְגַל אֵת מָסַךְ יְהוּדָה וַתַּבֵּט בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אֶל-נֶשֶׁק בֵּית הַיָּֽעַר׃
And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
וְאֶת-בָּתֵּי יְרוּשָׁלִַם סְפַרְתֶּם וַתִּתְֿצוּ הַבָּתִּים לְבַצֵּר הַחוֹמָֽה׃
And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.
כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת לֶךְ-בֹּא אֶל-הַסֹּכֵן הַזֶּה עַל-שֶׁבְנָא אֲשֶׁר עַל-הַבָּֽיִת׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
צָנוֹף יִצְנָפְךָ צְנֵפָה כַּדּוּר אֶל-אֶרֶץ רַחֲבַת יָדָיִם שָׁמָּה תָמוּת וְשָׁמָּה מַרְכְּבוֹת כְּבוֹדֶךָ קְלוֹן בֵּית אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃
He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.
וְהִלְבַּשְׁתִּיו כֻּתָּנְתֶּךָ וְאַבְנֵֽטְךָ אֲחַזְּקֶנּוּ וּמֶֽמְשֶׁלְתְּךָ אֶתֵּן בְּיָדוֹ וְהָיָה לְאָב לְיוֹשֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִַם וּלְבֵית יְהוּדָֽה׃
And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
וְנָתַתִּי מַפְתֵּחַ בֵּית-דָּוִד עַל-שִׁכְמוֹ וּפָתַח וְאֵין סֹגֵר וְסָגַר וְאֵין פֹּתֵֽחַ׃
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
וּתְקַעְתִּיו יָתֵד בְּמָקוֹם נֶאֱמָן וְהָיָה לְכִסֵּא כָבוֹד לְבֵית אָבִֽיו׃
And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
וְתָלוּ עָלָיו כֹּל׀ כְּבוֹד בֵּית-אָבִיו הַצֶּֽאֱצָאִים וְהַצְּפִעוֹת כֹּל כְּלֵי הַקָּטָן מִכְּלֵי הָֽאַגָּנוֹת וְעַד כָּל-כְּלֵי הַנְּבָלִֽים׃
And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
מַשָּׂא צֹר הֵילִילוּ׀ אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ כִּֽי-שֻׁדַּד מִבַּיִת מִבּוֹא מֵאֶרֶץ כִּתִּים נִגְלָה-לָֽמוֹ׃
The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
נִשְׁבְּרָה קִרְיַת-תֹּהוּ סֻגַּר כָּל-בַּיִת מִבּֽוֹא׃
The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
לָכֵן כֹּֽה-אָמַר יְהוָה אֶל-בֵּית יַֽעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר פָּדָה אֶת-אַבְרָהָם לֹֽא-עַתָּה יֵבוֹשׁ יַֽעֲקֹב וְלֹא עַתָּה פָּנָיו יֶחֱוָֽרוּ׃
Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
וְגַם-הוּא חָכָם וַיָּבֵא רָע וְאֶת-דְּבָרָיו לֹא הֵסִיר וְקָם עַל-בֵּית מְרֵעִים וְעַל-עֶזְרַת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃
Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
עַל אַדְמַת עַמִּי קוֹץ שָׁמִיר תַּֽעֲלֶה כִּי עַל-כָּל-בָּתֵּי מָשׂוֹשׂ קִרְיָה עַלִּיזָֽה׃
Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
וַיֵּצֵא אֵלָיו אֶלְיָקִים בֶּן-חִלְקִיָּהוּ אֲשֶׁר עַל-הַבָּיִת וְשֶׁבְנָא הַסֹּפֵר וְיוֹאָח בֶּן-אָסָף הַמַּזְכִּֽיר׃
Then came forth unto him Eliakim, Hilkiah's son, which was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph's son, the recorder.
וַיָּבֹא אֶלְיָקִים בֶּן-חִלְקִיָּהוּ אֲשֶׁר-עַל-הַבַּיִת וְשֶׁבְנָא הַסֹּפֵר וְיוֹאָח בֶּן-אָסָף הַמַּזְכִּיר אֶל-חִזְקִיָּהוּ קְרוּעֵי בְגָדִים וַיַּגִּידוּ לוֹ אֵת דִּבְרֵי רַב-שָׁקֵֽה
Then came Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, that was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
וַיְהִי כִּשְׁמֹעַ הַמֶּלֶךְ חִזְקִיָּהוּ וַיִּקְרַע אֶת-בְּגָדָיו וַיִּתְכַּס בַּשָּׂק וַיָּבֹא בֵּית יְהוָֽה׃
And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
וַיִּשְׁלַח אֶת-אֶלְיָקִים אֲשֶׁר-עַל-הַבַּיִת וְאֵת׀ שֶׁבְנָא הַסּוֹפֵר וְאֵת זִקְנֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים מִתְכַּסִּים בַּשַּׂקִּים אֶל-יְשַֽׁעְיָהוּ בֶן-אָמוֹץ הַנָּבִֽיא׃
And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
וַיִּקַּח חִזְקִיָּהוּ אֶת-הַסְּפָרִים מִיַּד הַמַּלְאָכִים וַיִּקְרָאֵהוּ וַיַּעַל בֵּית יְהוָה וַיִּפְרְשֵׂהוּ חִזְקִיָּהוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָֽה׃
And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
וְיָסְפָה פְּלֵיטַת בֵּית-יְהוּדָה הַנִּשְׁאָרָה שֹׁרֶשׁ לְמָטָּה וְעָשָׂה פְרִי לְמָֽעְלָה׃
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
וַיְהִי הוּא מִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶה בֵּית׀ נִסְרֹךְ אֱלֹהָיו וְֽאַדְרַמֶּלֶךְ וְשַׂרְאֶצֶר בָּנָיו הִכֻּהוּ בַחֶרֶב וְהֵמָּה נִמְלְטוּ אֶרֶץ אֲרָרָט וַיִּמְלֹךְ אֵֽסַר-חַדֹּן בְּנוֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.
בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם חָלָה חִזְקִיָּהוּ לָמוּת וַיָּבוֹא אֵלָיו יְשַׁעְיָהוּ בֶן-אָמוֹץ הַנָּבִיא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו כֹּֽה-אָמַר יְהוָה צַו לְבֵיתֶךָ כִּי מֵת אַתָּה וְלֹא תִֽחְיֶֽה׃
In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
יְהוָה לְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי וּנְגִנוֹתַי נְנַגֵּן כָּל-יְמֵי חַיֵּינוּ עַל-בֵּית יְהוָֽה׃
The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
וַיֹּאמֶר חִזְקִיָּהוּ מָה אוֹת כִּי אֶעֱלֶה בֵּית יְהוָֽה׃
Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
וַיִּשְׂמַח עֲלֵיהֶם חִזְקִיָּהוּ וַיַּרְאֵם אֶת-בֵּית (נכתה) נְכֹתוֹ אֶת-הַכֶּסֶף וְאֶת-הַזָּהָב וְאֶת-הַבְּשָׂמִים וְאֵת׀ הַשֶּׁמֶן הַטּוֹב וְאֵת כָּל-בֵּית כֵּלָיו וְאֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר נִמְצָא בְּאֹֽצְרֹתָיו לֹֽא-הָיָה דָבָר אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-הֶרְאָם חִזְקִיָּהוּ בְּבֵיתוֹ וּבְכָל-מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃
And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
וַיֹּאמֶר מָה רָאוּ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וַיֹּאמֶר חִזְקִיָּהוּ אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר בְּבֵיתִי רָאוּ לֹֽא-הָיָה דָבָר אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-הִרְאִיתִים בְּאוֹצְרֹתָֽי׃
Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
הִנֵּה יָמִים בָּאִים וְנִשָּׂא׀ כָּל-אֲשֶׁר בְּבֵיתֶךָ וַאֲשֶׁר אָצְרוּ אֲבֹתֶיךָ עַד-הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה בָּבֶל לֹֽא-יִוָּתֵר דָּבָר אָמַר יְהוָֽה׃
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
לִפְקֹחַ עֵינַיִם עִוְרוֹת לְהוֹצִיא מִמַּסְגֵּר אַסִּיר מִבֵּית כֶּלֶא יֹשְׁבֵי חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
וְהוּא עַם-בָּזוּז וְשָׁסוּי הָפֵחַ בַּֽחוּרִים כֻּלָּם וּבְבָתֵּי כְלָאִים הָחְבָּאוּ הָיוּ לָבַז וְאֵין מַצִּיל מְשִׁסָּה וְאֵין-אֹמֵר הָשַֽׁב׃
But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
חָרַשׁ עֵצִים נָטָה קָו יְתָאֲרֵהוּ בַשֶּׂרֶד יַעֲשֵׂהוּ בַּמַּקְצֻעוֹת וּבַמְּחוּגָה יְתָאֳרֵהוּ וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂהוּ כְּתַבְנִית אִישׁ כְּתִפְאֶרֶת אָדָם לָשֶׁבֶת בָּֽיִת׃
The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
שִׁמְעוּ אֵלַי בֵּית יַעֲקֹב וְכָל-שְׁאֵרִית בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל הַֽעֲמֻסִים מִנִּי-בֶטֶן הַנְּשֻׂאִים מִנִּי-רָֽחַם׃
Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
שִׁמְעוּ-זֹאת בֵּֽית-יַעֲקֹב הַנִּקְרָאִים בְּשֵׁם יִשְׂרָאֵל וּמִמֵּי יְהוּדָה יָצָאוּ הַֽנִּשְׁבָּעִים׀ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה וּבֵאלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יַזְכִּירוּ לֹא בֶאֱמֶת וְלֹא בִצְדָקָֽה׃
Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
כִּֽי-נִחַם יְהוָה צִיּוֹן נִחַם כָּל-חָרְבֹתֶיהָ וַיָּשֶׂם מִדְבָּרָהּ כְּעֵדֶן וְעַרְבָתָהּ כְּגַן-יְהוָה שָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה יִמָּצֵא בָהּ תּוֹדָה וְקוֹל זִמְרָֽה׃
For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
וְנָתַתִּי לָהֶם בְּבֵיתִי וּבְחֽוֹמֹתַי יָד וָשֵׁם טוֹב מִבָּנִים וּמִבָּנוֹת שֵׁם עוֹלָם אֶתֶּן-לוֹ אֲשֶׁר לֹא יִכָּרֵֽת׃
Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
וַהֲבִיאוֹתִים אֶל-הַר קָדְשִׁי וְשִׂמַּחְתִּים בְּבֵית תְּפִלָּתִי עוֹלֹתֵיהֶם וְזִבְחֵיהֶם לְרָצוֹן עַֽל-מִזְבְּחִי כִּי בֵיתִי בֵּית-תְּפִלָּה יִקָּרֵא לְכָל-הָעַמִּֽים׃
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
קְרָא בְגָרוֹן אַל-תַּחְשֹׂךְ כַּשּׁוֹפָר הָרֵם קוֹלֶךָ וְהַגֵּד לְעַמִּי פִּשְׁעָם וּלְבֵית יַעֲקֹב חַטֹּאתָֽם׃
Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
הֲלוֹא פָרֹס לָֽרָעֵב לַחְמֶךָ וַעֲנִיִּים מְרוּדִים תָּבִיא בָיִת כִּֽי-תִרְאֶה עָרֹם וְכִסִּיתוֹ וּמִבְּשָׂרְךָ לֹא תִתְעַלָּֽם׃
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
וְנָחֲךָ יְהוָה תָּמִיד וְהִשְׂבִּיעַ בְּצַחְצָחוֹת נַפְשֶׁךָ וְעַצְמֹתֶיךָ יַחֲלִיץ וְהָיִיתָ כְּגַן רָוֶה וּכְמוֹצָא מַיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יְכַזְּבוּ מֵימָֽיו׃
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
כָּל-צֹאן קֵדָר יִקָּבְצוּ לָךְ אֵילֵי נְבָיוֹת יְשָׁרְתוּנֶךְ יַעֲלוּ עַל-רָצוֹן מִזְבְּחִי וּבֵית תִּפְאַרְתִּי אֲפָאֵֽר׃
All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
חַֽסְדֵי יְהוָה׀ אַזְכִּיר תְּהִלֹּת יְהוָה כְּעַל כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-גְּמָלָנוּ יְהוָה וְרַב-טוּב לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר-גְּמָלָם כְּֽרַחֲמָיו וּכְרֹב חֲסָדָֽיו׃
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
בֵּית קָדְשֵׁנוּ וְתִפְאַרְתֵּנוּ אֲשֶׁר הִֽלְלוּךָ אֲבֹתֵינוּ הָיָה לִשְׂרֵפַת אֵשׁ וְכָל-מַחֲמַדֵּינוּ הָיָה לְחָרְבָּֽה׃
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
וּבָנוּ בָתִּים וְיָשָׁבוּ וְנָטְעוּ כְרָמִים וְאָכְלוּ פִּרְיָֽם׃
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה הַשָּׁמַיִם כִּסְאִי וְהָאָרֶץ הֲדֹם רַגְלָי אֵי-זֶה בַיִת אֲשֶׁר תִּבְנוּ-לִי וְאֵי-זֶה מָקוֹם מְנוּחָתִֽי׃
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
וְהֵבִיאוּ אֶת-כָּל-אֲחֵיכֶם מִכָּל-הַגּוֹיִם׀ מִנְחָה׀ לַֽיהוָה בַּסּוּסִים וּבָרֶכֶב וּבַצַּבִּים וּבַפְּרָדִים וּבַכִּרְכָּרוֹת עַל הַר קָדְשִׁי יְרוּשָׁלִַם אָמַר יְהוָה כַּאֲשֶׁר יָבִיאוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת-הַמִּנְחָה בִּכְלִי טָהוֹר בֵּית יְהוָֽה׃
And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
שִׁמְעוּ דְבַר-יְהוָה בֵּית יַעֲקֹב וְכָֽל-מִשְׁפְּחוֹת בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
הַעֶבֶד יִשְׂרָאֵל אִם-יְלִיד בַּיִת הוּא מַדּוּעַ הָיָה לָבַֽז׃
Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
כְּבֹשֶׁת גַּנָּב כִּי יִמָּצֵא כֵּן הֹבִישׁוּ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵמָּה מַלְכֵיהֶם שָֽׂרֵיהֶם וְכֹהֲנֵיהֶם וּנְבִיאֵיהֶֽם׃
As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,
בַּיָּמִים הָהֵמָּה יֵלְכוּ בֵית-יְהוּדָה עַל-בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיָבֹאוּ יַחְדָּו מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן עַל-הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר הִנְחַלְתִּי אֶת-אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
אָכֵן בָּגְדָה אִשָּׁה מֵרֵעָהּ כֵּן בְּגַדְתֶּם בִּי בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
אֵי לָזֹאת (אסלוח) אֶֽסְלַֽח-לָךְ בָּנַיִךְ עֲזָבוּנִי וַיִּשָּׁבְעוּ בְּלֹא אֱלֹהִים וָאַשְׂבִּעַ אוֹתָם וַיִּנְאָפוּ וּבֵית זוֹנָה יִתְגּוֹדָֽדוּ׃
How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
כִּי בָגוֹד בָּגְדוּ בִּי בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבֵית יְהוּדָה נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
הִנְנִי מֵבִיא עֲלֵיכֶם גּוֹי מִמֶּרְחָק בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם-יְהוָֹה גּוֹי׀ אֵיתָן הוּא גּוֹי מֵעוֹלָם הוּא גּוֹי לֹא-תֵדַע לְשֹׁנוֹ וְלֹא תִשְׁמַע מַה-יְדַבֵּֽר׃
Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
הַגִּידוּ זֹאת בְּבֵית יַעֲקֹב וְהַשְׁמִיעוּהָ בִיהוּדָה לֵאמֹֽר׃
Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
כִּכְלוּב מָלֵא עוֹף כֵּן בָּתֵּיהֶם מְלֵאִים מִרְמָה עַל-כֵּן גָּדְלוּ וַֽיַּעֲשִֽׁירוּ׃
As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
וְנָסַבּוּ בָֽתֵּיהֶם לַאֲחֵרִים שָׂדוֹת וְנָשִׁים יַחְדָּו כִּֽי-אַטֶּה אֶת-יָדִי עַל-יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
עֲמֹד בְּשַׁעַר בֵּית יְהוָה וְקָרָאתָ שָּׁם אֶת-הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וְאָמַרְתָּ שִׁמְעוּ דְבַר-יְהוָה כָּל-יְהוּדָה הַבָּאִים בַּשְּׁעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֹת לַיהוָֽה׃
Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
וּבָאתֶם וַעֲמַדְתֶּם לְפָנַי בַּבַּיִת הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר נִקְרָא-שְׁמִי עָלָיו וַאֲמַרְתֶּם נִצַּלְנוּ לְמַעַן עֲשׂוֹת אֵת כָּל-הַתּוֹעֵבוֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
הַמְעָרַת פָּרִצִים הָיָה הַבַּיִת הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר-נִקְרָֽא-שְׁמִי עָלָיו בְּעֵינֵיכֶם גַּם אָנֹכִי הִנֵּה רָאִיתִי נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
וְעָשִׂיתִי לַבַּיִת׀ אֲשֶׁר נִֽקְרָא-שְׁמִי עָלָיו אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם בֹּטְחִים בּוֹ וְלַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר-נָתַתִּי לָכֶם וְלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי לְשִׁלֽוֹ׃
Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
כִּֽי-עָשׂוּ בְנֵי-יְהוּדָה הָרַע בְּעֵינַי נְאֻם-יְהוָה שָׂמוּ שִׁקּֽוּצֵיהֶם בַּבַּיִת אֲשֶׁר-נִקְרָא-שְׁמִי עָלָיו לְטַמְּאֽוֹ׃
For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
עַל-מִצְרַיִם וְעַל-יְהוּדָה וְעַל-אֱדוֹם וְעַל-בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן וְעַל-מוֹאָב וְעַל כָּל-קְצוּצֵי פֵאָה הַיֹּשְׁבִים בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּי כָל-הַגּוֹיִם עֲרֵלִים וְכָל-בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל עַרְלֵי-לֵֽב׃
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
שִׁמְעוּ אֶת-הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה עֲלֵיכֶם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
שָׁבוּ עַל-עֲוֹנֹת אֲבוֹתָם הָרִֽאשֹׁנִים אֲשֶׁר מֵֽאֲנוּ לִשְׁמוֹעַ אֶת-דְּבָרַי וְהֵמָּה הָלְכוּ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים לְעָבְדָם הֵפֵרוּ בֵֽית-יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבֵית יְהוּדָה אֶת-בְּרִיתִי אֲשֶׁר כָּרַתִּי אֶת-אֲבוֹתָֽם׃
They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
מֶה לִֽידִידִי בְּבֵיתִי עֲשׂוֹתָהּ הַֽמְזִמָּתָה הָֽרַבִּים וּבְשַׂר-קֹדֶשׁ יַעַבְרוּ מֵֽעָלָיִךְ כִּי רָעָתֵכִי אָז תַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃
What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
וַיהוָה צְבָאוֹת הַנּוֹטֵעַ אוֹתָךְ דִּבֶּר עָלַיִךְ רָעָה בִּגְלַל רָעַת בֵּֽית-יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבֵית יְהוּדָה אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ לָהֶם לְהַכְעִסֵנִי לְקַטֵּר לַבָּֽעַל׃
For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
כִּי גַם-אַחֶיךָ וּבֵית-אָבִיךָ גַּם-הֵמָּה בָּגְדוּ בָךְ גַּם-הֵמָּה קָרְאוּ אַחֲרֶיךָ מָלֵא אַל-תַּאֲמֵן בָּם כִּֽי-יְדַבְּרוּ אֵלֶיךָ טוֹבֽוֹת׃
For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
עָזַבְתִּי אֶת-בֵּיתִי נָטַשְׁתִּי אֶת-נַחֲלָתִי נָתַתִּי אֶת-יְדִדוּת נַפְשִׁי בְּכַף אֹיְבֶֽיהָ׃
I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
כֹּה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה עַל-כָּל-שְׁכֵנַי הָֽרָעִים הַנֹּֽגְעִים בַּֽנַּחֲלָה אֲשֶׁר-הִנְחַלְתִּי אֶת-עַמִּי אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנְנִי נֹֽתְשָׁם מֵעַל אַדְמָתָם וְאֶת-בֵּית יְהוּדָה אֶתּוֹשׁ מִתּוֹכָֽם׃
Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר יִדְבַּק הָאֵזוֹר אֶל-מָתְנֵי-אִישׁ כֵּן הִדְבַּקְתִּי אֵלַי אֶת-כָּל-בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאֶת-כָּל-בֵּית יְהוּדָה נְאֻם-יְהוָה לִֽהְיוֹת לִי לְעָם וּלְשֵׁם וְלִתְהִלָּה וּלְתִפְאָרֶת וְלֹא שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃
For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
כִּֽי-כֹה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה אַל-תָּבוֹא בֵּית מַרְזֵחַ וְאַל-תֵּלֵךְ לִסְפּוֹד וְאַל-תָּנֹד לָהֶם כִּֽי-אָסַפְתִּי אֶת-שְׁלוֹמִי מֵאֵת הָעָם הַזֶּה נְאֻם-יְהוָה אֶת-הַחֶסֶד וְאֶת-הָֽרַחֲמִֽים׃
For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.
וּבֵית-מִשְׁתֶּה לֹא-תָבוֹא לָשֶׁבֶת אוֹתָם לֶאֱכֹל וְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃
Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
וְלֹא-תוֹצִיאוּ מַשָּׂא מִבָּֽתֵּיכֶם בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת וְכָל-מְלָאכָה לֹא תַֽעֲשׂוּ וְקִדַּשְׁתֶּם אֶת-יוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי אֶת-אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
וּבָאוּ מֵעָרֵֽי-יְהוּדָה וּמִסְּבִיבוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַם וּמֵאֶרֶץ בִּנְיָמִן וּמִן-הַשְּׁפֵלָה וּמִן-הָהָר וּמִן-הַנֶּגֶב מְבִאִים עוֹלָה וְזֶבַח וּמִנְחָה וּלְבוֹנָה וּמְבִאֵי תוֹדָה בֵּית יְהוָֽה׃
And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
קוּם וְיָרַדְתָּ בֵּית הַיּוֹצֵר וְשָׁמָּה אַשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ אֶת-דְּבָרָֽי׃
Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
וָאֵרֵד בֵּית הַיּוֹצֵר (והנהו) וְהִנֵּה הוּא עֹשֶׂה מְלָאכָה עַל-הָאָבְנָֽיִם׃
Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
הֲכַיּוֹצֵר הַזֶּה לֹא-אוּכַל לַעֲשׂוֹת לָכֶם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם-יְהוָה הִנֵּה כַחֹמֶר בְּיַד הַיּוֹצֵר כֵּן-אַתֶּם בְּיָדִי בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
תִּשָּׁמַע זְעָקָה מִבָּתֵּיהֶם כִּֽי-תָבִיא עֲלֵיהֶם גְּדוּד פִּתְאֹם כִּֽי-כָרוּ (שיחה) שׁוּחָה לְלָכְדֵנִי וּפַחִים טָמְנוּ לְרַגְלָֽי׃
Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
וְהָיוּ בָּתֵּי יְרוּשָׁלִַם וּבָתֵּי מַלְכֵי יְהוּדָה כִּמְקוֹם הַתֹּפֶת הַטְּמֵאִים לְכֹל הַבָּתִּים אֲשֶׁר קִטְּרוּ עַל-גַּגֹּֽתֵיהֶם לְכֹל צְבָא הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהַסֵּךְ נְסָכִים לֵאלֹהִים אֲחֵרִֽים׃
And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
וַיָּבֹא יִרְמְיָהוּ מֵֽהַתֹּפֶת אֲשֶׁר שְׁלָחוֹ יְהוָה שָׁם לְהִנָּבֵא וַֽיַּעֲמֹד בַּחֲצַר בֵּית-יְהוָה וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-כָּל-הָעָֽם׃
Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, whither the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD's house; and said to all the people,
וַיִּשְׁמַע פַּשְׁחוּר בֶּן-אִמֵּר הַכֹּהֵן וְהֽוּא-פָקִיד נָגִיד בְּבֵית יְהוָה אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ נִבָּא אֶת-הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.
וַיַּכֶּה פַשְׁחוּר אֵת יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא וַיִּתֵּן אֹתוֹ עַל-הַמַּהְפֶּכֶת אֲשֶׁר בְּשַׁעַר בִּנְיָמִן הָֽעֶלְיוֹן אֲשֶׁר בְּבֵית יְהוָֽה׃
Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.
וְאַתָּה פַשְׁחוּר וְכֹל יֹשְׁבֵי בֵיתֶךָ תֵּלְכוּ בַּשֶּׁבִי וּבָבֶל תָּבוֹא וְשָׁם תָּמוּת וְשָׁם תִּקָּבֵר אַתָּה וְכָל-אֹהֲבֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר-נִבֵּאתָ לָהֶם בַּשָּֽׁקֶר׃
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.
וּלְבֵית מֶלֶךְ יְהוּדָה שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר-יְהוָֽה׃
And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
בֵּית דָּוִד כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה דִּינוּ לַבֹּקֶר מִשְׁפָּט וְהַצִּילוּ גָזוּל מִיַּד עוֹשֵׁק פֶּן-תֵּצֵא כָאֵשׁ חֲמָתִי וּבָעֲרָה וְאֵין מְכַבֶּה מִפְּנֵי רֹעַ (מעלליהם) מַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃
O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה רֵד בֵּֽית-מֶלֶךְ יְהוּדָה וְדִבַּרְתָּ שָׁם אֶת-הַדָּבָר הַזֶּֽה׃
Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
כִּי אִם-עָשׂוֹ תַּֽעֲשׂוּ אֶת-הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וּבָאוּ בְשַׁעֲרֵי הַבַּיִת הַזֶּה מְלָכִים יֹשְׁבִים לְדָוִד עַל-כִּסְאוֹ רֹֽכְבִים בָּרֶכֶב וּבַסּוּסִים הוּא (ועבדו) וַעֲבָדָיו וְעַמּֽוֹ׃
For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
וְאִם לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ אֶת-הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה בִּי נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי נְאֻם-יְהוָה כִּי-לְחָרְבָּה יִֽהְיֶה הַבַּיִת הַזֶּֽה׃
But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
כִּֽי-כֹה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה עַל-בֵּית מֶלֶךְ יְהוּדָה גִּלְעָד אַתָּה לִי רֹאשׁ הַלְּבָנוֹן אִם-לֹא אֲשִֽׁיתְךָ מִדְבָּר עָרִים לֹא (נושבה) נוֹשָֽׁבוּ׃
For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
הוֹי בֹּנֶה בֵיתוֹ בְּֽלֹא-צֶדֶק וַעֲלִיּוֹתָיו בְּלֹא מִשְׁפָּט בְּרֵעֵהוּ יַעֲבֹד חִנָּם וּפֹעֲלוֹ לֹא יִתֶּן-לֽוֹ׃
Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
הָאֹמֵר אֶבְנֶה-לִּי בֵּית מִדּוֹת וַעֲלִיּוֹת מְרֻוָּחִים וְקָרַֽע לוֹ חַלּוֹנָי וְסָפוּן בָּאָרֶז וּמָשׁוֹחַ בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃
That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
כִּי אִם-חַי-יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר הֶעֱלָה וַאֲשֶׁר הֵבִיא אֶת-זֶרַע בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹנָה וּמִכֹּל הָֽאֲרָצוֹת אֲשֶׁר הִדַּחְתִּים שָׁם וְיָשְׁבוּ עַל-אַדְמָתָֽם׃
But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
כִּֽי-גַם-נָבִיא גַם-כֹּהֵן חָנֵפוּ גַּם-בְּבֵיתִי מָצָאתִי רָעָתָם נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
