וּקְעִילָה וְאַכְזִיב וּמָֽרֵאשָׁה עָרִים תֵּשַׁע וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃
And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:
וּבְנֵי כָלֵב אֲחִי יְרַחְמְאֵל מֵישָׁע בְּכֹרוֹ הוּא אֲבִי-זִיף וּבְנֵי מָֽרֵשָׁה אֲבִי חֶבְרֽוֹן׃
Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
בְּנֵי שֵׁלָה בֶן-יְהוּדָה עֵר אֲבִי לֵכָה וְלַעְדָּה אֲבִי מָֽרֵשָׁה וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת בֵּית-עֲבֹדַת הַבֻּץ לְבֵית אַשְׁבֵּֽעַ׃
The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,
וַיֵּצֵא אֲלֵיהֶם זֶרַח הַכּוּשִׁי בְּחַיִל אֶלֶף אֲלָפִים וּמַרְכָּבוֹת שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת וַיָּבֹא עַד-מָֽרֵשָֽׁה׃
And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
וַיֵּצֵא אָסָא לְפָנָיו וַיַּֽעַרְכוּ מִלְחָמָה בְּגֵיא צְפַתָה לְמָֽרֵשָֽׁה׃
Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
וַיִּתְנַבֵּא אֱלִיעֶזֶר בֶּן-דֹּֽדָוָהוּ מִמָּרֵשָׁה עַל-יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט לֵאמֹר כְּהִֽתְחַבֶּרְךָ עִם-אֲחַזְיָהוּ פָּרַץ יְהוָה אֶֽת-מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וַיִּשָּֽׁבְרוּ אֳנִיּוֹת וְלֹא עָֽצְרוּ לָלֶכֶת אֶל-תַּרְשִֽׁישׁ׃
Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
עֹד הַיֹּרֵשׁ אָבִי לָךְ יוֹשֶׁבֶת מָֽרֵשָׁה עַד-עֲדֻלָּם יָבוֹא כְּבוֹד יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.
