כִּי שָׁמָּה׀ יָשְׁבוּ כִסְאוֹת לְמִשְׁפָּט כִּסְאוֹת לְבֵית דָּוִֽד׃
For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
לְמַעַן בֵּית-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁה טוֹב לָֽךְ׃
Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
אִם-יְהוָה׀ לֹא-יִבְנֶה בַיִת שָׁוְא עָמְלוּ בוֹנָיו בּוֹ אִם-יְהוָה לֹֽא-יִשְׁמָר-עִיר שָׁוְא׀ שָׁקַד שׁוֹמֵֽר׃
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
אֶשְׁתְּךָ׀ כְּגֶפֶן פֹּרִיָּה בְּיַרְכְּתֵי בֵיתֶךָ בָּנֶיךָ כִּשְׁתִלֵי זֵיתִים סָבִיב לְשֻׁלְחָנֶֽךָ׃
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
אִם-אָבֹא בְּאֹהֶל בֵּיתִי אִם-אֶעֱלֶה עַל-עֶרֶשׂ יְצוּעָֽי׃
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
הִנֵּה׀ בָּרֲכוּ אֶת-יְהוָה כָּל-עַבְדֵי יְהוָה הָעֹמְדִים בְּבֵית-יְהוָה בַּלֵּילֽוֹת׃
Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.
שֶׁעֹֽמְדִים בְּבֵית יְהוָה בְּחַצְרוֹת בֵּית אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,
בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּרֲכוּ אֶת-יְהוָה בֵּית אַהֲרֹן בָּרֲכוּ אֶת-יְהוָֽה׃
Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
בֵּית הַלֵּוִי בָּרֲכוּ אֶת-יְהוָה יִֽרְאֵי יְהוָה בָּרֲכוּ אֶת-יְהוָֽה׃
Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
כָּל-הוֹן יָקָר נִמְצָא נְמַלֵּא בָתֵּינוּ שָׁלָֽל׃
We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
כִּי שָׁחָה אֶל-מָוֶת בֵּיתָהּ וְאֶל-רְפָאִים מַעְגְּלֹתֶֽיהָ׃
For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
מְאֵרַת יְהוָה בְּבֵית רָשָׁע וּנְוֵה צַדִּיקִים יְבָרֵֽךְ׃
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
הַרְחֵק מֵעָלֶיהָ דַרְכֶּךָ וְאַל-תִּקְרַב אֶל-פֶּתַח בֵּיתָֽהּ׃
Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
פֶּֽן-יִשְׂבְּעוּ זָרִים כֹּחֶךָ וַעֲצָבֶיךָ בְּבֵית נָכְרִֽי׃
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
וְנִמְצָא יְשַׁלֵּם שִׁבְעָתָיִם אֶת-כָּל-הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ יִתֵּֽן׃
But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
כִּי בְּחַלּוֹן בֵּיתִי בְּעַד אֶשְׁנַבִּי נִשְׁקָֽפְתִּי׃
For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
עֹבֵר בַּשּׁוּק אֵצֶל פִּנָּהּ וְדֶרֶךְ בֵּיתָהּ יִצְעָֽד׃
Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
הֹמִיָּה הִיא וְסֹרָרֶת בְּבֵיתָהּ לֹא-יִשְׁכְּנוּ רַגְלֶֽיהָ׃
(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
כִּי אֵין הָאִישׁ בְּבֵיתוֹ הָלַךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ מֵרָחֽוֹק׃
For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
צְֽרוֹר-הַכֶּסֶף לָקַח בְּיָדוֹ לְיוֹם הַכֵּסֶא יָבֹא בֵיתֽוֹ׃
He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
דַּרְכֵי שְׁאוֹל בֵּיתָהּ יֹרְדוֹת אֶל-חַדְרֵי-מָֽוֶת׃
Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
בְּרֹאשׁ-מְרֹמִים עֲלֵי-דָרֶךְ בֵּית נְתִיבוֹת נִצָּֽבָה׃
She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
חָכְמוֹת בָּנְתָה בֵיתָהּ חָצְבָה עַמּוּדֶיהָ שִׁבְעָֽה׃
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
וְֽיָשְׁבָה לְפֶתַח בֵּיתָהּ עַל-כִּסֵּא מְרֹמֵי קָֽרֶת׃
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
עֹכֵר בֵּיתוֹ יִנְחַל-רוּחַ וְעֶבֶד אֱוִיל לַחֲכַם-לֵֽב׃
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
הָפוֹךְ רְשָׁעִים וְאֵינָם וּבֵית צַדִּיקִים יַעֲמֹֽד׃
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
חַכְמוֹת נָשִׁים בָּנְתָה בֵיתָהּ וְאִוֶּלֶת בְּיָדֶיהָ תֶהֶרְסֶֽנּוּ׃
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
בֵּית רְשָׁעִים יִשָּׁמֵד וְאֹהֶל יְשָׁרִים יַפְרִֽיחַ׃
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
בֵּית צַדִּיק חֹסֶן רָב וּבִתְבוּאַת רָשָׁע נֶעְכָּֽרֶת׃
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
בֵּית גֵּאִים יִסַּח׀ יְהוָה וְיַצֵּב גְּבוּל אַלְמָנָֽה׃
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
עֹכֵר בֵּיתוֹ בּוֹצֵעַ בָּצַע וְשׂוֹנֵא מַתָּנֹת יִחְיֶֽה׃
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
טוֹב פַּת חֲרֵבָה וְשַׁלְוָה-בָהּ מִבַּיִת מָלֵא זִבְחֵי-רִֽיב׃
Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.
מֵשִׁיב רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה לֹא-(תמיש) תָמוּשׁ רָעָה מִבֵּיתֽוֹ׃
Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
בַּיִת וָהוֹן נַחֲלַת אָבוֹת וּמֵיְהוָה אִשָּׁה מַשְׂכָּֽלֶת׃
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
טוֹב לָשֶׁבֶת עַל-פִּנַּת-גָּג מֵאֵשֶׁת מִדְיָנִים וּבֵית חָֽבֶר׃
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
מַשְׂכִּיל צַדִּיק לְבֵית רָשָׁע מְסַלֵּף רְשָׁעִים לָרָֽע׃
The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
בְּחָכְמָה יִבָּנֶה בָּיִת וּבִתְבוּנָה יִתְכּוֹנָֽן׃
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
הָכֵן בַּחוּץ׀ מְלַאכְתֶּךָ וְעַתְּדָהּ בַּשָּׂדֶה לָךְ אַחַר וּבָנִיתָ בֵיתֶֽךָ׃
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
הֹקַר רַגְלְךָ מִבֵּית רֵעֶךָ פֶּן-יִשְׂבָּעֲךָ וּשְׂנֵאֶֽךָ׃
Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.
טוֹב שֶׁבֶת עַל-פִּנַּת-גָּג מֵאֵשֶׁת (מדונים) מִדְיָנִים וּבֵית חָֽבֶר׃

רֵֽעֲךָ (ורעה) וְרֵעַ אָבִיךָ אַֽל-תַּעֲזֹב וּבֵית אָחִיךָ אַל-תָּבוֹא בְּיוֹם אֵידֶךָ טוֹב שָׁכֵן קָרוֹב מֵאָח רָחֽוֹק׃
Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
וְדֵי׀ חֲלֵב עִזִּים לְֽלַחְמְךָ לְלֶחֶם בֵּיתֶךָ וְחַיִּים לְנַעֲרוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
שְׁפַנִּים עַם לֹא-עָצוּם וַיָּשִׂימוּ בַסֶּלַע בֵּיתָֽם׃
The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
וַתָּקָם׀ בְּעוֹד לַיְלָה וַתִּתֵּן טֶרֶף לְבֵיתָהּ וְחֹק לְנַעֲרֹתֶֽיהָ׃
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
לֹא-תִירָא לְבֵיתָהּ מִשָּׁלֶג כִּי כָל-בֵּיתָהּ לָבֻשׁ שָׁנִֽים׃
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
צוֹפִיָּה הֲלִיכוֹת בֵּיתָהּ וְלֶחֶם עַצְלוּת לֹא תֹאכֵֽל׃
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
הִגְדַּלְתִּי מַעֲשָׂי בָּנִיתִי לִי בָּתִּים נָטַעְתִּי לִי כְּרָמִֽים׃
I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards:
קָנִיתִי עֲבָדִים וּשְׁפָחוֹת וּבְנֵי-בַיִת הָיָה לִי גַּם מִקְנֶה בָקָר וָצֹאן הַרְבֵּה הָיָה לִי מִכֹּל שֶֽׁהָיוּ לְפָנַי בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me:
כִּֽי-מִבֵּית הָסוּרִים יָצָא לִמְלֹךְ כִּי גַּם בְּמַלְכוּתוֹ נוֹלַד רָֽשׁ׃
For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.
שְׁמֹר (רגליך) רַגְלְךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר תֵּלֵךְ אֶל-בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וְקָרוֹב לִשְׁמֹעַ מִתֵּת הַכְּסִילִים זָבַח כִּֽי-אֵינָם יוֹדְעִים לַעֲשׂוֹת רָֽע׃
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
טוֹב לָלֶכֶת אֶל-בֵּֽית-אֵבֶל מִלֶּכֶת אֶל-בֵּית מִשְׁתֶּה בַּאֲשֶׁר הוּא סוֹף כָּל-הָאָדָם וְהַחַי יִתֵּן אֶל-לִבּֽוֹ׃
It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
לֵב חֲכָמִים בְּבֵית אֵבֶל וְלֵב כְּסִילִים בְּבֵית שִׂמְחָֽה׃
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
בַּעֲצַלְתַּיִם יִמַּךְ הַמְּקָרֶה וּבְשִׁפְלוּת יָדַיִם יִדְלֹף הַבָּֽיִת׃
By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
בַּיּוֹם שֶׁיָּזֻעוּ שֹׁמְרֵי הַבַּיִת וְהִֽתְעַוְּתוּ אַנְשֵׁי הֶחָיִל וּבָטְלוּ הַטֹּֽחֲנוֹת כִּי מִעֵטוּ וְחָשְׁכוּ הָרֹאוֹת בָּאֲרֻבּֽוֹת׃
In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
גַּם מִגָּבֹהַּ יִרָאוּ וְחַתְחַתִּים בַּדֶּרֶךְ וְיָנֵאץ הַשָּׁקֵד וְיִסְתַּבֵּל הֶֽחָגָב וְתָפֵר הָֽאֲבִיּוֹנָה כִּֽי-הֹלֵךְ הָאָדָם אֶל-בֵּית עוֹלָמוֹ וְסָבְבוּ בַשּׁוּק הַסּוֹפְדִֽים׃
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
קֹרוֹת בָּתֵּינוּ אֲרָזִים (רחיטנו) רַהִיטֵנוּ בְּרוֹתִֽים׃
The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
הֱבִיאַנִי אֶל-בֵּית הַיָּיִן וְדִגְלוֹ עָלַי אַהֲבָֽה׃
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
כִּמְעַט שֶׁעָבַרְתִּי מֵהֶם עַד שֶֽׁמָּצָאתִי אֵת שֶׁאָהֲבָה נַפְשִׁי אֲחַזְתִּיו וְלֹא אַרְפֶּנּוּ עַד-שֶׁהֲבֵיאתִיו אֶל-בֵּית אִמִּי וְאֶל-חֶדֶר הוֹרָתִֽי׃
It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
אֶנְהָֽגֲךָ אֲבִֽיאֲךָ אֶל-בֵּית אִמִּי תְּלַמְּדֵנִי אַשְׁקְךָ מִיַּיִן הָרֶקַח מֵעֲסִיס רִמֹּנִֽי׃
I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
מַיִם רַבִּים לֹא יֽוּכְלוּ לְכַבּוֹת אֶת-הָֽאַהֲבָה וּנְהָרוֹת לֹא יִשְׁטְפוּהָ אִם-יִתֵּן אִישׁ אֶת-כָּל-הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ בָּאַהֲבָה בּוֹז יָבוּזוּ לֽוֹ׃
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
וְהָיָה׀ בְּאַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים נָכוֹן יִֽהְיֶה הַר בֵּית-יְהוָה בְּרֹאשׁ הֶהָרִים וְנִשָּׂא מִגְּבָעוֹת וְנָהֲרוּ אֵלָיו כָּל-הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
וְֽהָלְכוּ עַמִּים רַבִּים וְאָמְרוּ לְכוּ׀ וְנַעֲלֶה אֶל-הַר-יְהוָה אֶל-בֵּית אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב וְיֹרֵנוּ מִדְּרָכָיו וְנֵלְכָה בְּאֹרְחֹתָיו כִּי מִצִּיּוֹן תֵּצֵא תוֹרָה וּדְבַר-יְהוָה מִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
בֵּית יַעֲקֹב לְכוּ וְנֵלְכָה בְּאוֹר יְהוָֽה׃
O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
כִּי נָטַשְׁתָּה עַמְּךָ בֵּית יַעֲקֹב כִּי מָלְאוּ מִקֶּדֶם וְעֹֽנְנִים כַּפְּלִשְׁתִּים וּבְיַלְדֵי נָכְרִים יַשְׂפִּֽיקוּ׃
Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
כִּֽי-יִתְפֹּשׂ אִישׁ בְּאָחִיו בֵּית אָבִיו שִׂמְלָה לְכָה קָצִין תִּֽהְיֶה-לָּנוּ וְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָה הַזֹּאת תַּחַת יָדֶֽךָ׃
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
יִשָּׂא בַיּוֹם הַהוּא׀ לֵאמֹר לֹא-אֶהְיֶה חֹבֵשׁ וּבְבֵיתִי אֵין לֶחֶם וְאֵין שִׂמְלָה לֹא תְשִׂימֻנִי קְצִין עָֽם׃
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
יְהוָה בְּמִשְׁפָּט יָבוֹא עִם-זִקְנֵי עַמּוֹ וְשָׂרָיו וְאַתֶּם בִּֽעַרְתֶּם הַכֶּרֶם גְּזֵלַת הֶֽעָנִי בְּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃
The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
הַפְּאֵרִים וְהַצְּעָדוֹת וְהַקִּשֻּׁרִים וּבָתֵּי הַנֶּפֶשׁ וְהַלְּחָשִֽׁים׃
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
כִּי כֶרֶם יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאִישׁ יְהוּדָה נְטַע שַׁעֲשׁוּעָיו וַיְקַו לְמִשְׁפָּט וְהִנֵּה מִשְׂפָּח לִצְדָקָה וְהִנֵּה צְעָקָֽה׃
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
הוֹי מַגִּיעֵי בַיִת בְּבַיִת שָׂדֶה בְשָׂדֶה יַקְרִיבוּ עַד אֶפֶס מָקוֹם וְהֽוּשַׁבְתֶּם לְבַדְּכֶם בְּקֶרֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
בְּאָזְנָי יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אִם-לֹא בָּתִּים רַבִּים לְשַׁמָּה יִֽהְיוּ גְּדֹלִים וְטוֹבִים מֵאֵין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃
In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
וַיָּנֻעוּ אַמּוֹת הַסִּפִּים מִקּוֹל הַקּוֹרֵא וְהַבַּיִת יִמָּלֵא עָשָֽׁן׃
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
וָאֹמַר עַד-מָתַי אֲדֹנָי וַיֹּאמֶר עַד אֲשֶׁר אִם-שָׁאוּ עָרִים מֵאֵין יוֹשֵׁב וּבָתִּים מֵאֵין אָדָם וְהָאֲדָמָה תִּשָּׁאֶה שְׁמָמָֽה׃
Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
וַיֻּגַּד לְבֵית דָּוִד לֵאמֹר נָחָֽה אֲרָם עַל-אֶפְרָיִם וַיָּנַע לְבָבוֹ וּלְבַב עַמּוֹ כְּנוֹעַ עֲצֵי-יַעַר מִפְּנֵי-רֽוּחַ׃
And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
וַיֹּאמֶר שִׁמְעוּ-נָא בֵּית דָּוִד הַמְעַט מִכֶּם הַלְאוֹת אֲנָשִׁים כִּי תַלְאוּ גַּם אֶת-אֱלֹהָֽי׃
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
יָבִיא יְהוָה עָלֶיךָ וְעַֽל-עַמְּךָ וְעַל-בֵּית אָבִיךָ יָמִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא-בָאוּ לְמִיּוֹם סוּר-אֶפְרַיִם מֵעַל יְהוּדָה אֵת מֶלֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
וְהָיָה לְמִקְדָּשׁ וּלְאֶבֶן נֶגֶף וּלְצוּר מִכְשׁוֹל לִשְׁנֵי בָתֵּי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְפַח וּלְמוֹקֵשׁ לְיוֹשֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
וְחִכִּיתִי לַיהוָה הַמַּסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִבֵּית יַעֲקֹב וְקִוֵּיתִֽי-לֽוֹ׃
And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
וְהָיָה׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֹֽא-יוֹסִיף עוֹד שְׁאָר יִשְׂרָאֵל וּפְלֵיטַת בֵּֽית-יַעֲקֹב לְהִשָּׁעֵן עַל-מַכֵּהוּ וְנִשְׁעַן עַל-יְהוָה קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל בֶּאֱמֶֽת׃
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
עוֹד הַיּוֹם בְּנֹב לַֽעֲמֹד יְנֹפֵף יָדוֹ הַר (בית) בַּת-צִיּוֹן גִּבְעַת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
וְעֹלְלֵיהֶם יְרֻטְּשׁוּ לְעֵֽינֵיהֶם יִשַּׁסּוּ בָּֽתֵּיהֶם וּנְשֵׁיהֶם (תשגלנה) תִּשָּׁכַֽבְנָה׃
Their children also shall be dashed pieces to before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
וְרָבְצוּ-שָׁם צִיִּים וּמָלְאוּ בָתֵּיהֶם אֹחִים וְשָׁכְנוּ שָׁם בְּנוֹת יַֽעֲנָה וּשְׂעִירִים יְרַקְּדוּ-שָֽׁם׃
But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
כִּי יְרַחֵם יְהוָה אֶֽת-יַעֲקֹב וּבָחַר עוֹד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וְהִנִּיחָם עַל-אַדְמָתָם וְנִלְוָה הַגֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם וְנִסְפְּחוּ עַל-בֵּית יַעֲקֹֽב׃
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
וּלְקָחוּם עַמִּים וֶהֱבִיאוּם אֶל-מְקוֹמָם וְהִֽתְנַחֲלוּם בֵּֽית-יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אַדְמַת יְהוָה לַעֲבָדִים וְלִשְׁפָחוֹת וְהָיוּ שֹׁבִים לְשֹֽׁבֵיהֶם וְרָדוּ בְּנֹגְשֵׂיהֶֽם׃
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
שָׂם תֵּבֵל כַּמִּדְבָּר וְעָרָיו הָרָס אֲסִירָיו לֹא-פָתַח בָּֽיְתָה׃
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
כָּל-מַלְכֵי גוֹיִם כֻּלָּם שָׁכְבוּ בְכָבוֹד אִישׁ בְּבֵיתֽוֹ׃
All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
וַיְגַל אֵת מָסַךְ יְהוּדָה וַתַּבֵּט בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אֶל-נֶשֶׁק בֵּית הַיָּֽעַר׃
And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
וְאֶת-בָּתֵּי יְרוּשָׁלִַם סְפַרְתֶּם וַתִּתְֿצוּ הַבָּתִּים לְבַצֵּר הַחוֹמָֽה׃
And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.
כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת לֶךְ-בֹּא אֶל-הַסֹּכֵן הַזֶּה עַל-שֶׁבְנָא אֲשֶׁר עַל-הַבָּֽיִת׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
צָנוֹף יִצְנָפְךָ צְנֵפָה כַּדּוּר אֶל-אֶרֶץ רַחֲבַת יָדָיִם שָׁמָּה תָמוּת וְשָׁמָּה מַרְכְּבוֹת כְּבוֹדֶךָ קְלוֹן בֵּית אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃
He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.
וְהִלְבַּשְׁתִּיו כֻּתָּנְתֶּךָ וְאַבְנֵֽטְךָ אֲחַזְּקֶנּוּ וּמֶֽמְשֶׁלְתְּךָ אֶתֵּן בְּיָדוֹ וְהָיָה לְאָב לְיוֹשֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִַם וּלְבֵית יְהוּדָֽה׃
And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
וְנָתַתִּי מַפְתֵּחַ בֵּית-דָּוִד עַל-שִׁכְמוֹ וּפָתַח וְאֵין סֹגֵר וְסָגַר וְאֵין פֹּתֵֽחַ׃
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
וּתְקַעְתִּיו יָתֵד בְּמָקוֹם נֶאֱמָן וְהָיָה לְכִסֵּא כָבוֹד לְבֵית אָבִֽיו׃
And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
וְתָלוּ עָלָיו כֹּל׀ כְּבוֹד בֵּית-אָבִיו הַצֶּֽאֱצָאִים וְהַצְּפִעוֹת כֹּל כְּלֵי הַקָּטָן מִכְּלֵי הָֽאַגָּנוֹת וְעַד כָּל-כְּלֵי הַנְּבָלִֽים׃
And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
מַשָּׂא צֹר הֵילִילוּ׀ אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ כִּֽי-שֻׁדַּד מִבַּיִת מִבּוֹא מֵאֶרֶץ כִּתִּים נִגְלָה-לָֽמוֹ׃
The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
נִשְׁבְּרָה קִרְיַת-תֹּהוּ סֻגַּר כָּל-בַּיִת מִבּֽוֹא׃
The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
לָכֵן כֹּֽה-אָמַר יְהוָה אֶל-בֵּית יַֽעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר פָּדָה אֶת-אַבְרָהָם לֹֽא-עַתָּה יֵבוֹשׁ יַֽעֲקֹב וְלֹא עַתָּה פָּנָיו יֶחֱוָֽרוּ׃
Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
וְגַם-הוּא חָכָם וַיָּבֵא רָע וְאֶת-דְּבָרָיו לֹא הֵסִיר וְקָם עַל-בֵּית מְרֵעִים וְעַל-עֶזְרַת פֹּעֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃
Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
עַל אַדְמַת עַמִּי קוֹץ שָׁמִיר תַּֽעֲלֶה כִּי עַל-כָּל-בָּתֵּי מָשׂוֹשׂ קִרְיָה עַלִּיזָֽה׃
Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
וַיֵּצֵא אֵלָיו אֶלְיָקִים בֶּן-חִלְקִיָּהוּ אֲשֶׁר עַל-הַבָּיִת וְשֶׁבְנָא הַסֹּפֵר וְיוֹאָח בֶּן-אָסָף הַמַּזְכִּֽיר׃
Then came forth unto him Eliakim, Hilkiah's son, which was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph's son, the recorder.
