וּזְרַעְתֶּם אֵת הַשָּׁנָה הַשְּׁמִינִת וַֽאֲכַלְתֶּם מִן-הַתְּבוּאָה יָשָׁן עַד׀ הַשָּׁנָה הַתְּשִׁיעִת עַד-בּוֹא תְּבוּאָתָהּ תֹּֽאכְלוּ יָשָֽׁן׃
And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
וַֽאֲכַלְתֶּם יָשָׁן נוֹשָׁן וְיָשָׁן מִפְּנֵי חָדָשׁ תּוֹצִֽיאוּ׃
And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
וְאֵת שַׁעַר הַיְשָׁנָה הֶֽחֱזִיקוּ יֽוֹיָדָע בֶּן-פָּסֵחַ וּמְשֻׁלָּם בֶּן-בְּסֽוֹדְיָה הֵמָּה קֵרוּהוּ וַֽיַּעֲמִידוּ דַּלְתֹתָיו וּמַנְעֻלָיו וּבְרִיחָֽיו׃
Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
הַֽדּוּדָאִים נָֽתְנוּ-רֵיחַ וְעַל-פְּתָחֵינוּ כָּל-מְגָדִים חֲדָשִׁים גַּם-יְשָׁנִים דּוֹדִי צָפַנְתִּי לָֽךְ׃
The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
וּמִקְוָה׀ עֲשִׂיתֶם בֵּין הַחֹמֹתַיִם לְמֵי הַבְּרֵכָה הַיְשָׁנָה וְלֹא הִבַּטְתֶּם אֶל-עֹשֶׂיהָ וְיֹצְרָהּ מֵֽרָחוֹק לֹא רְאִיתֶֽם׃
Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
