וַיְהִי יִצְחָק בֶּן-אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה בְּקַחְתּוֹ אֶת-רִבְקָה בַּת-בְּתוּאֵל הָֽאֲרַמִּי מִפַּדַּן אֲרָם אֲחוֹת לָבָן הָֽאֲרַמִּי לוֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
קוּם לֵךְ פַּדֶּנָֽה אֲרָם בֵּיתָה בְתוּאֵל אֲבִי אִמֶּךָ וְקַח-לְךָ מִשָּׁם אִשָּׁה מִבְּנוֹת לָבָן אֲחִי אִמֶּֽךָ׃
Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
וַיִּשְׁלַח יִצְחָק אֶֽת-יַעֲקֹב וַיֵּלֶךְ פַּדֶּנָֽה אֲרָם אֶל-לָבָן בֶּן-בְּתוּאֵל הָֽאֲרַמִּי אֲחִי רִבְקָה אֵם יַֽעֲקֹב וְעֵשָֽׂו׃
And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
וַיַּרְא עֵשָׂו כִּֽי-בֵרַךְ יִצְחָק אֶֽת-יַעֲקֹב וְשִׁלַּח אֹתוֹ פַּדֶּנָֽה אֲרָם לָקַֽחַת-לוֹ מִשָּׁם אִשָּׁה בְּבָרֲכוֹ אֹתוֹ וַיְצַו עָלָיו לֵאמֹר לֹֽא-תִקַּח אִשָּׁה מִבְּנוֹת כְּנָֽעַן׃
When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
וַיִּשְׁמַע יַֽעֲקֹב אֶל-אָבִיו וְאֶל-אִמּוֹ וַיֵּלֶךְ פַּדֶּנָֽה אֲרָֽם׃
And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram;
וַיִּנְהַג אֶת-כָּל-מִקְנֵהוּ וְאֶת-כָּל-רְכֻשׁוֹ אֲשֶׁר רָכָשׁ מִקְנֵה קִנְיָנוֹ אֲשֶׁר רָכַשׁ בְּפַדַּן אֲרָם לָבוֹא אֶל-יִצְחָק אָבִיו אַרְצָה כְּנָֽעַן׃
And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padan-aram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
וַיָּבֹא יַֽעֲקֹב שָׁלֵם עִיר שְׁכֶם אֲשֶׁר בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן בְּבֹאוֹ מִפַּדַּן אֲרָם וַיִּחַן אֶת-פְּנֵי הָעִֽיר׃
And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city.
וַיֵּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֶֽל-יַעֲקֹב עוֹד בְּבֹאוֹ מִפַּדַּן אֲרָם וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתֽוֹ׃
And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.
וּבְנֵי זִלְפָּה שִׁפְחַת לֵאָה גָּד וְאָשֵׁר אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי יַֽעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר יֻלַּד-לוֹ בְּפַדַּן אֲרָֽם׃
And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.
אֵלֶּה׀ בְּנֵי לֵאָה אֲשֶׁר יָֽלְדָה לְיַֽעֲקֹב בְּפַדַּן אֲרָם וְאֵת דִּינָה בִתּוֹ כָּל-נֶפֶשׁ בָּנָיו וּבְנוֹתָיו שְׁלֹשִׁים וְשָׁלֹֽשׁ׃
These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
וַֽאֲנִי׀ בְּבֹאִי מִפַּדָּן מֵתָה עָלַי רָחֵל בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן בַּדֶּרֶךְ בְּעוֹד כִּבְרַת-אֶרֶץ לָבֹא אֶפְרָתָה וָֽאֶקְבְּרֶהָ שָּׁם בְּדֶרֶךְ אֶפְרָת הִוא בֵּית לָֽחֶם׃
And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.
