הַֽאֲשִׁימֵם׀ אֱֽלֹהִים יִפְּלוּ מִֽמֹּעֲצוֹתֵיהֶם בְּרֹב פִּשְׁעֵיהֶם הַדִּיחֵמוֹ כִּי-מָרוּ בָֽךְ׃
Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
אֵֽין-הַמֶּלֶךְ נוֹשָׁע בְּרָב-חָיִל גִּבּוֹר לֹֽא-יִנָּצֵל בְּרָב-כֹּֽחַ׃
There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
שֶׁקֶר הַסּוּס לִתְשׁוּעָה וּבְרֹב חֵילוֹ לֹא יְמַלֵּֽט׃
An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
וַעֲנָוִים יִֽירְשׁוּ-אָרֶץ וְהִתְעַנְּגוּ עַל-רֹב שָׁלֽוֹם׃
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
טוֹב-מְעַט לַצַּדִּיק מֵהֲמוֹן רְשָׁעִים רַבִּֽים׃
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
אֵלֶּה אֶזְכְּרָה׀ וְאֶשְׁפְּכָה עָלַי׀ נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֶֽעֱבֹר׀ בַּסָּךְ אֶדַּדֵּם עַד-בֵּית אֱלֹהִים בְּקוֹל-רִנָּה וְתוֹדָה הָמוֹן חוֹגֵֽג׃
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
הַבֹּטְחִים עַל-חֵילָם וּבְרֹב עָשְׁרָם יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
(הרבה) אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהִים כְּחַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ מְחֵה פְשָׁעָֽי׃
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
הִנֵּה הַגֶּבֶר לֹא יָשִׂים אֱלֹהִים מָֽעוּזּוֹ וַיִּבְטַח בְּרֹב עָשְׁרוֹ יָעֹז בְּהַוָּתֽוֹ׃
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
מַשְׁבִּיחַ׀ שְׁאוֹן יַמִּים שְׁאוֹן גַּלֵּיהֶם וַהֲמוֹן לְאֻמִּֽים׃
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
אִמְרוּ לֵאלֹהִים מַה-נּוֹרָא מַעֲשֶׂיךָ בְּרֹב עֻזְּךָ יְֽכַחֲשׁוּ לְךָ אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃
Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּתִֽי-לְךָ׀ יְהוָה עֵת רָצוֹן אֱלֹהִים בְּרָב-חַסְדֶּךָ עֲנֵנִי בֶּאֱמֶת יִשְׁעֶֽךָ׃
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
עֲנֵנִי יְהוָה כִּי-טוֹב חַסְדֶּךָ כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ פְּנֵה אֵלָֽי׃
Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
יִֽפְרַח-בְּיָמָיו צַדִּיק וְרֹב שָׁלוֹם עַד-בְּלִי יָרֵֽחַ׃
In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
בְּרֹב שַׂרְעַפַּי בְּקִרְבִּי תַּנְחוּמֶיךָ יְֽשַׁעַשְׁעוּ נַפְשִֽׁי׃
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְמִצְרַיִם׀ לֹא-הִשְׂכִּילוּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ לֹא זָכְרוּ אֶת-רֹב חֲסָדֶיךָ וַיַּמְרוּ עַל-יָם בְּיַם-סֽוּף׃
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
וַיִּזְכֹּר לָהֶם בְּרִיתוֹ וַיִּנָּחֵם כְּרֹב (חסדו) חֲסָדָֽיו׃
And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
הַֽלְלוּהוּ בִגְבוּרֹתָיו הַֽלְלוּהוּ כְּרֹב גֻּדְלֽוֹ׃
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
הוּא יָמוּת בְּאֵין מוּסָר וּבְרֹב אִוַּלְתּוֹ יִשְׁגֶּֽה׃
He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
הִטַּתּוּ בְּרֹב לִקְחָהּ בְּחֵלֶק שְׂפָתֶיהָ תַּדִּיחֶֽנּוּ׃
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
בְּרֹב דְּבָרִים לֹא יֶחְדַּל-פָּשַׁע וְחוֹשֵׂךְ שְׂפָתָיו מַשְׂכִּֽיל׃
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
בְּאֵין תַּחְבֻּלוֹת יִפָּל-עָם וּתְשׁוּעָה בְּרֹב יוֹעֵֽץ׃
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.
רָב-אֹכֶל נִיר רָאשִׁים וְיֵשׁ נִסְפֶּה בְּלֹא מִשְׁפָּֽט׃
Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
בְּאֵין אֲלָפִים אֵבוּס בָּר וְרָב-תְּבוּאוֹת בְּכֹחַ שֽׁוֹר׃
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
בְּרָב-עָם הַדְרַת-מֶלֶךְ וּבְאֶפֶס לְאֹם מְחִתַּת רָזֽוֹן׃
In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
הָפֵר מַחֲשָׁבוֹת בְּאֵין סוֹד וּבְרֹב יוֹעֲצִים תָּקֽוּם׃
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.
טוֹב-מְעַט בִּצְדָקָה מֵרֹב תְּבוּאוֹת בְּלֹא מִשְׁפָּֽט׃
Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
רָב-אָדָם יִקְרָא אִישׁ חַסְדּוֹ וְאִישׁ אֱמוּנִים מִי יִמְצָֽא׃
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
יֵשׁ זָהָב וְרָב-פְּנִינִים וּכְלִי יְקָר שִׂפְתֵי-דָֽעַת׃
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
כִּי בְתַחְבֻּלוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה-לְּךָ מִלְחָמָה וּתְשׁוּעָה בְּרֹב יוֹעֵֽץ׃
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.
כִּי בְּרֹב חָכְמָה רָב-כָּעַס וְיוֹסִיף דַּעַת יוֹסִיף מַכְאֽוֹב׃
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
כִּי בָּא הַחֲלוֹם בְּרֹב עִנְיָן וְקוֹל כְּסִיל בְּרֹב דְּבָרִֽים׃
For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
כִּי בְרֹב חֲלֹמוֹת וַהֲבָלִים וּדְבָרִים הַרְבֵּה כִּי אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים יְרָֽא׃
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.
אֹהֵב כֶּסֶף לֹא-יִשְׂבַּע כֶּסֶף וּמִֽי-אֹהֵב בֶּהָמוֹן לֹא תְבוּאָה גַּם-זֶה הָֽבֶל׃
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
שַׁלַּח לַחְמְךָ עַל-פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם כִּֽי-בְרֹב הַיָּמִים תִּמְצָאֶֽנּוּ׃
Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
לָמָּה-לִּי רֹב-זִבְחֵיכֶם יֹאמַר יְהוָה שָׂבַעְתִּי עֹלוֹת אֵילִים וְחֵלֶב מְרִיאִים וְדַם פָּרִים וּכְבָשִׂים וְעַתּוּדִים לֹא חָפָֽצְתִּי׃
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
לָכֵן גָּלָה עַמִּי מִבְּלִי-דָעַת וּכְבוֹדוֹ מְתֵי רָעָב וַהֲמוֹנוֹ צִחֵה צָמָֽא׃
Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
לָכֵן הִרְחִיבָה שְּׁאוֹל נַפְשָׁהּ וּפָעֲרָה פִיהָ לִבְלִי-חֹק וְיָרַד הֲדָרָהּ וַהֲמוֹנָהּ וּשְׁאוֹנָהּ וְעָלֵז בָּֽהּ׃
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
וְהָיָה מֵרֹב עֲשׂוֹת חָלָב יֹאכַל חֶמְאָה כִּֽי-חֶמְאָה וּדְבַשׁ יֹאכֵל כָּל-הַנּוֹתָר בְּקֶרֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
קוֹל הָמוֹן בֶּֽהָרִים דְּמוּת עַם-רָב קוֹל שְׁאוֹן מַמְלְכוֹת גּוֹיִם נֶֽאֱסָפִים יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת מְפַקֵּד צְבָא מִלְחָמָֽה׃
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
וְעַתָּה דִּבֶּר יְהוָה לֵאמֹר בְּשָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִים כִּשְׁנֵי שָׂכִיר וְנִקְלָה כְּבוֹד מוֹאָב בְּכֹל הֶהָמוֹן הָרָב וּשְׁאָר מְעַט מִזְעָר לוֹא כַבִּֽיר׃
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
הוֹי הֲמוֹן עַמִּים רַבִּים כַּהֲמוֹת יַמִּים יֶהֱמָיוּן וּשְׁאוֹן לְאֻמִּים כִּשְׁאוֹן מַיִם כַּבִּירִים יִשָּׁאֽוּן׃
Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
וְאֻסְּפוּ אֲסֵפָה אַסִּיר עַל-בּוֹר וְסֻגְּרוּ עַל-מַסְגֵּר וּמֵרֹב יָמִים יִפָּקֵֽדוּ׃
And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
וְהָיָה כְּאָבָק דַּק הֲמוֹן זָרָיִךְ וּכְמֹץ עֹבֵר הֲמוֹן עָֽרִיצִים וְהָיָה לְפֶתַע פִּתְאֹֽם׃
Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
וְהָיָה כַּֽחֲלוֹם חֲזוֹן לַיְלָה הֲמוֹן כָּל-הַגּוֹיִם הַצֹּבְאִים עַל-אֲרִיאֵל וְכָל-צֹבֶיהָ וּמְצֹדָתָהּ וְהַמְּצִיקִים לָֽהּ׃
And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
וְהָיָה כַּאֲשֶׁר יַחֲלֹם הָרָעֵב וְהִנֵּה אוֹכֵל וְהֵקִיץ וְרֵיקָה נַפְשׁוֹ וְכַאֲשֶׁר יַחֲלֹם הַצָּמֵא וְהִנֵּה שֹׁתֶה וְהֵקִיץ וְהִנֵּה עָיֵף וְנַפְשׁוֹ שׁוֹקֵקָה כֵּן יִֽהְיֶה הֲמוֹן כָּל-הַגּוֹיִם הַצֹּבְאִים עַל-הַר צִיּֽוֹן׃
It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
כִּי כֹה אָֽמַר-יְהוָה׀ אֵלַי כַּאֲשֶׁר יֶהְגֶּה הָאַרְיֵה וְהַכְּפִיר עַל-טַרְפּוֹ אֲשֶׁר יִקָּרֵא עָלָיו מְלֹא רֹעִים מִקּוֹלָם לֹא יֵחָת וּמֵֽהֲמוֹנָם לֹא יַֽעֲנֶה כֵּן יֵרֵד יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת לִצְבֹּא עַל-הַר-צִיּוֹן וְעַל-גִּבְעָתָֽהּ׃
For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
כִּֽי-אַרְמוֹן נֻטָּשׁ הֲמוֹן עִיר עֻזָּב עֹפֶל וָבַחַן הָיָה בְעַד מְעָרוֹת עַד-עוֹלָם מְשׂוֹשׂ פְּרָאִים מִרְעֵה עֲדָרִֽים׃
Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
מִקּוֹל הָמוֹן נָדְדוּ עַמִּים מֵרוֹמְמֻתֶךָ נָפְצוּ גּוֹיִֽם׃
At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
בְּיַד עֲבָדֶיךָ חֵרַפְתָּ׀ אֲדֹנָי וַתֹּאמֶר בְּרֹב רִכְבִּי אֲנִי עָלִיתִי מְרוֹם הָרִים יַרְכְּתֵי לְבָנוֹן וְאֶכְרֹת קוֹמַת אֲרָזָיו מִבְחַר בְּרֹשָׁיו וְאָבוֹא מְרוֹם קִצּוֹ יַעַר כַּרְמִלּֽוֹ׃
By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.
שְׂאוּ-מָרוֹם עֵינֵיכֶם וּרְאוּ מִי-בָרָא אֵלֶּה הַמּוֹצִיא בְמִסְפָּר צְבָאָם לְכֻלָּם בְּשֵׁם יִקְרָא מֵרֹב אוֹנִים וְאַמִּיץ כֹּחַ אִישׁ לֹא נֶעְדָּֽר׃
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
וְתָבֹאנָה לָּךְ שְׁתֵּי-אֵלֶּה רֶגַע בְּיוֹם אֶחָד שְׁכוֹל וְאַלְמֹן כְּתֻמָּם בָּאוּ עָלַיִךְ בְּרֹב כְּשָׁפַיִךְ בְּעָצְמַת חֲבָרַיִךְ מְאֹֽד׃
But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
עִמְדִי-נָא בַחֲבָרַיִךְ וּבְרֹב כְּשָׁפַיִךְ בַּאֲשֶׁר יָגַעַתְּ מִנְּעוּרָיִךְ אוּלַי תּוּכְלִי הוֹעִיל אוּלַי תַּעֲרֽוֹצִי׃
Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
נִלְאֵית בְּרֹב עֲצָתָיִךְ יַעַמְדוּ-נָא וְיוֹשִׁיעֻךְ (הברו) הֹבְרֵי שָׁמַיִם הַֽחֹזִים בַּכּוֹכָבִים מֽוֹדִעִים לֶחֳדָשִׁים מֵאֲשֶׁר יָבֹאוּ עָלָֽיִךְ׃
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
בְּרֹב דַּרְכֵּךְ יָגַעַתְּ לֹא אָמַרְתְּ נוֹאָשׁ חַיַּת יָדֵךְ מָצָאת עַל-כֵּן לֹא חָלִֽית׃
Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
אָז תִּרְאִי וְנָהַרְתְּ וּפָחַד וְרָחַב לְבָבֵךְ כִּֽי-יֵהָפֵךְ עָלַיִךְ הֲמוֹן יָם חֵיל גּוֹיִם יָבֹאוּ לָֽךְ׃
Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
מִי-זֶה׀ בָּא מֵאֱדוֹם חֲמוּץ בְּגָדִים מִבָּצְרָה זֶה הָדוּר בִּלְבוּשׁוֹ צֹעֶה בְּרֹב כֹּחוֹ אֲנִי מְדַבֵּר בִּצְדָקָה רַב לְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃
Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
חַֽסְדֵי יְהוָה׀ אַזְכִּיר תְּהִלֹּת יְהוָה כְּעַל כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-גְּמָלָנוּ יְהוָה וְרַב-טוּב לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר-גְּמָלָם כְּֽרַחֲמָיו וּכְרֹב חֲסָדָֽיו׃
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
הַבֵּט מִשָּׁמַיִם וּרְאֵה מִזְּבֻל קָדְשְׁךָ וְתִפְאַרְתֶּךָ אַיֵּה קִנְאָֽתְךָ וּגְבוּרֹתֶךָ הֲמוֹן מֵעֶיךָ וְֽרַחֲמֶיךָ אֵלַי הִתְאַפָּֽקוּ׃
Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
אָכֵן לַשֶּׁקֶר מִגְּבָעוֹת הָמוֹן הָרִים אָכֵן בַּיהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵינוּ תְּשׁוּעַת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
לְקוֹל תִּתּוֹ הֲמוֹן מַיִם בַּשָּׁמַיִם וַיַּעֲלֶה נְשִׂאִים מִקְצֵה (ארץ) הָאָרֶץ בְּרָקִים לַמָּטָר עָשָׂה וַיּוֹצֵא רוּחַ מֵאֹצְרֹתָֽיו׃
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
וְכִי תֹאמְרִי בִּלְבָבֵךְ מַדּוּעַ קְרָאֻנִי אֵלֶּה בְּרֹב עֲוֹנֵךְ נִגְלוּ שׁוּלַיִךְ נֶחְמְסוּ עֲקֵבָֽיִךְ׃
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
כָּל-מְאַהֲבַיִךְ שְׁכֵחוּךְ אוֹתָךְ לֹא יִדְרֹשׁוּ כִּי מַכַּת אוֹיֵב הִכִּיתִיךְ מוּסַר אַכְזָרִי עַל רֹב עֲוֹנֵךְ עָצְמוּ חַטֹּאתָֽיִךְ׃
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
מַה-תִּזְעַק עַל-שִׁבְרֵךְ אָנוּשׁ מַכְאֹבֵךְ עַל׀ רֹב עֲוֹנֵךְ עָֽצְמוּ חַטֹּאתַיִךְ עָשִׂיתִי אֵלֶּה לָֽךְ׃
Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.
מִקּוֹל שַֽׁעֲטַת פַּרְסוֹת אַבִּירָיו מֵרַעַשׁ לְרִכְבּוֹ הֲמוֹן גַּלְגִּלָּיו לֹֽא-הִפְנוּ אָבוֹת אֶל-בָּנִים מֵֽרִפְיוֹן יָדָֽיִם׃
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
וְהָיוּ גְמַלֵּיהֶם לָבַז וַהֲמוֹן מִקְנֵיהֶם לְשָׁלָל וְזֵרִתִים לְכָל-רוּחַ קְצוּצֵי פֵאָה וּמִכָּל-עֲבָרָיו אָבִיא אֶת-אֵידָם נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.
לְקוֹל תִּתּוֹ הֲמוֹן מַיִם בַּשָּׁמַיִם וַיַּעַל נְשִׂאִים מִקְצֵה-אָרֶץ בְּרָקִים לַמָּטָר עָשָׂה וַיּוֹצֵא רוּחַ מֵאֹצְרֹתָֽיו׃
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
עָלָה עַל-בָּבֶל הַיָּם בַּהֲמוֹן גַּלָּיו נִכְסָֽתָה׃
The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
גָּֽלְתָה יְהוּדָה מֵעֹנִי וּמֵרֹב עֲבֹדָה הִיא יָשְׁבָה בַגּוֹיִם לֹא מָצְאָה מָנוֹחַ כָּל-רֹדְפֶיהָ הִשִּׂיגוּהָ בֵּין הַמְּצָרִֽים׃
Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
הָיוּ צָרֶיהָ לְרֹאשׁ אֹיְבֶיהָ שָׁלוּ כִּֽי-יְהוָה הוֹגָהּ עַל רֹב-פְּשָׁעֶיהָ עוֹלָלֶיהָ הָלְכוּ שְׁבִי לִפְנֵי-צָֽר׃
Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
כִּי אִם-הוֹגָה וְרִחַם כְּרֹב (חסדו) חֲסָדָֽיו׃
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
לָכֵן כֹּֽה-אָמַר׀ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה יַעַן הֲמָנְכֶם מִן-הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבֽוֹתֵיכֶם בְּחֻקּוֹתַי לֹא הֲלַכְתֶּם וְאֶת-מִשְׁפָּטַי לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶם וּֽכְמִשְׁפְּטֵי הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you;
הֶחָמָס׀ קָם לְמַטֵּה-רֶשַׁע לֹא-מֵהֶם וְלֹא מֵהֲמוֹנָם וְלֹא מֶהֱמֵהֶם וְלֹא-נֹהַּ בָּהֶֽם׃
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them.
בָּא הָעֵת הִגִּיעַ הַיּוֹם הַקּוֹנֶה אַל-יִשְׂמָח וְהַמּוֹכֵר אַל-יִתְאַבָּל כִּי חָרוֹן אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃
The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
כִּי הַמּוֹכֵר אֶל-הַמִּמְכָּר לֹא יָשׁוּב וְעוֹד בַּחַיִּים חַיָּתָם כִּֽי-חָזוֹן אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָהּ לֹא יָשׁוּב וְאִישׁ בַּעֲוֺנוֹ חַיָּתוֹ לֹא יִתְחַזָּֽקוּ׃
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.
תָּקְעוּ בַתָּקוֹעַ וְהָכִין הַכֹּל וְאֵין הֹלֵךְ לַמִּלְחָמָה כִּי חֲרוֹנִי אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃
They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
לָכֵן דַּבֵּר-אוֹתָם וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה-אָמַר׀ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אִישׁ אִישׁ מִבֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר יַעֲלֶה אֶת-גִּלּוּלָיו אֶל-לִבּוֹ וּמִכְשׁוֹל עֲוֹנוֹ יָשִׂים נֹכַח פָּנָיו וּבָא אֶל-הַנָּבִיא אֲנִי יְהוָה נַעֲנֵיתִי לוֹ (בה) בָא בְּרֹב גִּלּוּלָֽיו׃
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
וַיִּֽהְיוּ-לָהּ מַטּוֹת עֹז אֶל-שִׁבְטֵי מֹֽשְׁלִים וַתִּגְבַּהּ קֽוֹמָתוֹ עַל-בֵּין עֲבֹתִים וַיֵּרָא בְגָבְהוֹ בְּרֹב דָּלִיֹּתָֽיו׃
And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
וְקוֹל הָמוֹן שָׁלֵו בָהּ וְאֶל-אֲנָשִׁים מֵרֹב אָדָם מוּבָאִים (סובאים) סָבָאִים מִמִּדְבָּר וַֽיִּתְּנוּ צְמִידִים אֶל-יְדֵיהֶן וַעֲטֶרֶת תִּפְאֶרֶת עַל-רָאשֵׁיהֶֽן׃
And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי הֲמוֹן שִׁירָיִךְ וְקוֹל כִּנּוֹרַיִךְ לֹא יִשָּׁמַע עֽוֹד׃
And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
תַּרְשִׁישׁ סֹחַרְתֵּךְ מֵרֹב כָּל-הוֹן בְּכֶסֶף בַּרְזֶל בְּדִיל וְעוֹפֶרֶת נָתְנוּ עִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃
Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.
אֲרָם סֹחַרְתֵּךְ מֵרֹב מַעֲשָׂיִךְ בְּנֹפֶךְ אַרְגָּמָן וְרִקְמָה וּבוּץ וְרָאמֹת וְכַדְכֹּד נָתְנוּ בְּעִזְבוֹנָֽיִךְ׃
Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
דַּמֶּשֶׂק סֹחַרְתֵּךְ בְּרֹב מַעֲשַׂיִךְ מֵרֹב כָּל-הוֹן בְּיֵין חֶלְבּוֹן וְצֶמֶר צָֽחַר׃
Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
בְּצֵאת עִזְבוֹנַיִךְ מִיַּמִּים הִשְׂבַּעַתְּ עַמִּים רַבִּים בְּרֹב הוֹנַיִךְ וּמַעֲרָבַיִךְ הֶעֱשַׁרְתְּ מַלְכֵי-אָֽרֶץ׃
When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.
בְּרֹב חָכְמָתְךָ בִּרְכֻלָּתְךָ הִרְבִּיתָ חֵילֶךָ וַיִּגְבַּהּ לְבָבְךָ בְּחֵילֶֽךָ׃
By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
בְּרֹב רְכֻלָּתְךָ מָלוּ תוֹכְךָ חָמָס וַֽתֶּחֱטָא וָאֶחַלֶּלְךָ מֵהַר אֱלֹהִים וָֽאַבֶּדְךָ כְּרוּב הַסֹּכֵךְ מִתּוֹךְ אַבְנֵי-אֵֽשׁ׃
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
מֵרֹב עֲוֹנֶיךָ בְּעֶוֶל רְכֻלָּתְךָ חִלַּלְתָּ מִקְדָּשֶׁיךָ וָֽאוֹצִא-אֵשׁ מִתּֽוֹכְךָ הִיא אֲכָלַתְךָ וָאֶתֶּנְךָ לְאֵפֶר עַל-הָאָרֶץ לְעֵינֵי כָּל-רֹאֶֽיךָ׃
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי נֹתֵן לִנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶֽלֶךְ-בָּבֶל אֶת-אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם וְנָשָׂא הֲמֹנָהּ וְשָׁלַל שְׁלָלָהּ וּבָזַז בִּזָּהּ וְהָיְתָה שָׂכָר לְחֵילֽוֹ׃
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
וּבָאָה חֶרֶב בְּמִצְרַיִם וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בְּכוּשׁ בִּנְפֹל חָלָל בְּמִצְרָיִם וְלָקְחוּ הֲמוֹנָהּ וְנֶהֶרְסוּ יְסֹֽדוֹתֶֽיהָ׃
And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.
כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֶת-הֲמוֹן מִצְרַיִם בְּיַד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ-בָּבֶֽל׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.
וְשָׁפַכְתִּי חֲמָתִי עַל-סִין מָעוֹז מִצְרָיִם וְהִכְרַתִּי אֶת-הֲמוֹן נֹֽא׃
And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.
בֶּן-אָדָם אֱמֹר אֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶֽלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם וְאֶל-הֲמוֹנוֹ אֶל-מִי דָּמִיתָ בְגָדְלֶֽךָ׃
Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
יָפֶה עֲשִׂיתִיו בְּרֹב דָּֽלִיּוֹתָיו וַיְקַנְאֻהוּ כָּל-עֲצֵי-עֵדֶן אֲשֶׁר בְּגַן הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
אֶל-מִי דָמִיתָ כָּכָה בְּכָבוֹד וּבְגֹדֶל בַּעֲצֵי-עֵדֶן וְהוּרַדְתָּ אֶת-עֲצֵי-עֵדֶן אֶל-אֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּית בְּתוֹךְ עֲרֵלִים תִּשְׁכַּב אֶת-חַלְלֵי-חֶרֶב הוּא פַרְעֹה וְכָל-הֲמוֹנֹה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִֽה׃
To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
בְּחַרְבוֹת גִּבּוֹרִים אַפִּיל הֲמוֹנֶךָ עָרִיצֵי גוֹיִם כֻּלָּם וְשָֽׁדְדוּ אֶת-גְּאוֹן מִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁמַד כָּל-הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃
By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.
קִינָה הִיא וְקוֹנְנוּהָ בְּנוֹת הַגּוֹיִם תְּקוֹנֵנָּה אוֹתָהּ עַל-מִצְרַיִם וְעַל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָהּ תְּקוֹנֵנָּה אוֹתָהּ נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִֽה׃
This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
בֶּן-אָדָם נְהֵה עַל-הֲמוֹן מִצְרַיִם וְהוֹרִדֵהוּ אוֹתָהּ וּבְנוֹת גּוֹיִם אַדִּרִם אֶל-אֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּיּוֹת אֶת-יוֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃
Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
בְּתוֹךְ חַלְלֵי-חֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ חֶרֶב נִתָּנָה מָשְׁכוּ אוֹתָהּ וְכָל-הֲמוֹנֶֽיהָ׃
They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
שָׁם עֵילָם וְכָל-הֲמוֹנָהּ סְבִיבוֹת קְבֻרָתָהּ כֻּלָּם חֲלָלִים הַנֹּפְלִים בַּחֶרֶב אֲֽשֶׁר-יָרְדוּ עֲרֵלִים׀ אֶל-אֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּיּוֹת אֲשֶׁר נָתְנוּ חִתִּיתָם בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּים וַיִּשְׂאוּ כְלִמָּתָם אֶת-יוֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃
There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.
בְּתוֹךְ חֲלָלִים נָתְנוּ מִשְׁכָּב לָהּ בְּכָל-הֲמוֹנָהּ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו קִבְרֹתֶהָ כֻּלָּם עֲרֵלִים חַלְלֵי-חֶרֶב כִּֽי-נִתַּן חִתִּיתָם בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּים וַיִּשְׂאוּ כְלִמָּתָם אֶת-יוֹרְדֵי בוֹר בְּתוֹךְ חֲלָלִים נִתָּֽן׃
They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
