בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא נִקְרָא בְּסֵפֶר מֹשֶׁה בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וְנִמְצָא כָּתוּב בּוֹ אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-יָבוֹא עַמֹּנִי וּמֹאָבִי בִּקְהַל הָֽאֱלֹהִים עַד-עוֹלָֽם׃
On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;
כִּֽי-עֲדַת חָנֵף גַּלְמוּד וְאֵשׁ אָכְלָה אָֽהֳלֵי-שֹֽׁחַד׃
For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
אַךְ-עַתָּה הֶלְאָנִי הֲשִׁמּוֹתָ כָּל-עֲדָתִֽי׃
But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
קֹדֵר הִלַּכְתִּי בְּלֹא חַמָּה קַמְתִּי בַקָּהָל אֲשַׁוֵּֽעַ׃
I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.
עַל-כֵּן׀ לֹא-יָקֻמוּ רְשָׁעִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט וְחַטָּאִים בַּעֲדַת צַדִּיקִֽים׃
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
וַעֲדַת לְאֻמִּים תְּסוֹבְבֶךָּ וְעָלֶיהָ לַמָּרוֹם שֽׁוּבָה׃
So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
כִּי סְבָבוּנִי כְּלָבִים עֲדַת מְרֵעִים הִקִּיפוּנִי כָּאֲרִי יָדַי וְרַגְלָֽי׃
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
אֲסַפְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לְאֶחָי בְּתוֹךְ קָהָל אֲהַלְלֶֽךָּ׃
I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
מֵאִתְּךָ תְֽהִלָּתִי בְּקָהָל רָב נְדָרַי אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגֶד יְרֵאָֽיו׃
My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
שָׂנֵאתִי קְהַל מְרֵעִים וְעִם-רְשָׁעִים לֹא אֵשֵֽׁב׃
I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
אוֹדְךָ בְּקָהָל רָב בְּעַם עָצוּם אֲהַֽלְלֶֽךָּ׃
I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
בִּשַּׂרְתִּי צֶדֶק׀ בְּקָהָל רָב הִנֵּה שְׂפָתַי לֹא אֶכְלָא יְהוָה אַתָּה יָדָֽעְתָּ׃
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
צִדְקָתְךָ לֹא-כִסִּיתִי׀ בְּתוֹךְ לִבִּי אֱמוּנָתְךָ וּתְשׁוּעָתְךָ אָמָרְתִּי לֹא-כִחַדְתִּי חַסְדְּךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ לְקָהָל רָֽב׃
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
גְּעַר חַיַּת קָנֶה עֲדַת אַבִּירִים׀ בְּעֶגְלֵי עַמִּים מִתְרַפֵּס בְּרַצֵּי-כָסֶף בִּזַּר עַמִּים קְרָבוֹת יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃
Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.
זְכֹר עֲדָתְךָ׀ קָנִיתָ קֶּדֶם גָּאַלְתָּ שֵׁבֶט נַחֲלָתֶךָ הַר-צִיּוֹן זֶה׀ שָׁכַנְתָּ בּֽוֹ׃
Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
אֱֽלֹהִים נִצָּב בַּעֲדַת-אֵל בְּקֶרֶב אֱלֹהִים יִשְׁפֹּֽט׃
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
אֱלֹהִים׀ זֵדִים קָֽמוּ-עָלַי וַעֲדַת עָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי וְלֹא שָׂמוּךָ לְנֶגְדָּֽם׃
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
וְיוֹדוּ שָׁמַיִם פִּלְאֲךָ יְהוָה אַף-אֱמֽוּנָתְךָ בִּקְהַל קְדֹשִֽׁים׃
And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
תִּפְתַּח-אֶרֶץ וַתִּבְלַע דָּתָן וַתְּכַס עַל-עֲדַת אֲבִירָֽם׃
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
וַתִּבְעַר-אֵשׁ בַּעֲדָתָם לֶהָבָה תְּלַהֵט רְשָׁעִֽים׃
And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
וִֽירוֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל-עָם וּבְמוֹשַׁב זְקֵנִים יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃
Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
הַלְלוּ יָהּ׀ אוֹדֶה יְהוָה בְּכָל-לֵבָב בְּסוֹד יְשָׁרִים וְעֵדָֽה׃
Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
הַלְלוּ יָהּ׀ שִׁירוּ לַֽיהוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ תְּהִלָּתוֹ בִּקְהַל חֲסִידִֽים׃
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
כִּמְעַט הָיִיתִי בְכָל-רָע בְּתוֹךְ קָהָל וְעֵדָֽה׃
I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
אָדָם תּוֹעֶה מִדֶּרֶךְ הַשְׂכֵּל בִּקְהַל רְפָאִים יָנֽוּחַ׃
The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
תִּכַּסֶּה שִׂנְאָה בְּמַשָּׁאוֹן תִּגָּלֶה רָעָתוֹ בְקָהָֽל׃
Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
לָכֵן שִׁמְעוּ הַגּוֹיִם וּדְעִי עֵדָה אֶת-אֲשֶׁר-בָּֽם׃
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
וַיָּקֻמוּ אֲנָשִׁים מִזִּקְנֵי הָאָרֶץ וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל-כָּל-קְהַל הָעָם לֵאמֹֽר׃
Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
וְהָיוּ בָנָיו כְּקֶדֶם וַעֲדָתוֹ לְפָנַי תִּכּוֹן וּפָקַדְתִּי עַל כָּל-לֹחֲצָֽיו׃
Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אוֹתָם מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן וְקִבַּצְתִּים מִיַּרְכְּתֵי-אָרֶץ בָּם עִוֵּר וּפִסֵּחַ הָרָה וְיֹלֶדֶת יַחְדָּו קָהָל גָּדוֹל יָשׁוּבוּ הֵֽנָּה׃
Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
וַיַּעֲנוּ אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ כָּל-הָאֲנָשִׁים הַיֹּֽדְעִים כִּֽי-מְקַטְּרוֹת נְשֵׁיהֶם לֵאלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְכָל-הַנָּשִׁים הָעֹמְדוֹת קָהָל גָּדוֹל וְכָל-הָעָם הַיֹּשְׁבִים בְּאֶֽרֶץ-מִצְרַיִם בְּפַתְרוֹס לֵאמֹֽר׃
Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
כִּי הִנֵּה אָנֹכִי מֵעִיר וּמַעֲלֶה עַל-בָּבֶל קְהַל-גּוֹיִם גְּדֹלִים מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן וְעָרְכוּ לָהּ מִשָּׁם תִּלָּכֵד חִצָּיו כְּגִבּוֹר מַשְׁכִּיל לֹא יָשׁוּב רֵיקָֽם׃
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.
יָדוֹ פָּרַשׂ צָר עַל כָּל-מַחֲמַדֶּיהָ כִּֽי-רָאֲתָה גוֹיִם בָּאוּ מִקְדָּשָׁהּ אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתָה לֹא-יָבֹאוּ בַקָּהָל לָֽךְ׃
The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
וְהֶעֱלוּ עָלַיִךְ קָהָל וְרָגְמוּ אוֹתָךְ בָּאָבֶן וּבִתְּקוּךְ בְּחַרְבוֹתָֽם׃
They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
וְלֹא בְחַיִל גָּדוֹל וּבְקָהָל רָב יַעֲשֶׂה אוֹתוֹ פַרְעֹה בַּמִּלְחָמָה בִּשְׁפֹּךְ סֹלְלָה וּבִבְנוֹת דָּיֵק לְהַכְרִית נְפָשׁוֹת רַבּֽוֹת׃
Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
וּבָאוּ עָלַיִךְ הֹצֶן רֶכֶב וְגַלְגַּל וּבִקְהַל עַמִּים צִנָּה וּמָגֵן וְקוֹבַע יָשִׂימוּ עָלַיִךְ סָבִיב וְנָתַתִּי לִפְנֵיהֶם מִשְׁפָּט וּשְׁפָטוּךְ בְּמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶֽם׃
And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
כִּי כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הַעֲלֵה עֲלֵיהֶם קָהָל וְנָתֹן אֶתְהֶן לְזַעֲוָה וְלָבַֽז׃
For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
וְרָגְמוּ עֲלֵיהֶן אֶבֶן קָהָל וּבָרֵא אוֹתְהֶן בְּחַרְבוֹתָם בְּנֵיהֶם וּבְנֽוֹתֵיהֶם יַהֲרֹגוּ וּבָתֵּיהֶן בָּאֵשׁ יִשְׂרֹֽפוּ׃
And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
כִּי כֹה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶל-צֹר נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶֽלֶךְ-בָּבֶל מִצָּפוֹן מֶלֶךְ מְלָכִים בְּסוּס וּבְרֶכֶב וּבְפָרָשִׁים וְקָהָל וְעַם-רָֽב׃
For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
הוֹנֵךְ וְעִזְבוֹנַיִךְ מַעֲרָבֵךְ מַלָּחַיִךְ וְחֹבְלָיִךְ מַחֲזִיקֵי בִדְקֵך וְֽעֹרְבֵי מַעֲרָבֵךְ וְכָל-אַנְשֵׁי מִלְחַמְתֵּךְ אֲשֶׁר-בָּךְ וּבְכָל-קְהָלֵךְ אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹכֵךְ יִפְּלוּ בְּלֵב יַמִּים בְּיוֹם מַפַּלְתֵּֽךְ׃
Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
עֵת נִשְׁבֶּרֶת מִיַּמִּים בְּמַֽעֲמַקֵּי-מָיִם מַעֲרָבֵךְ וְכָל-קְהָלֵךְ בְּתוֹכֵךְ נָפָֽלוּ׃
In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.
כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וּפָרַשְׂתִּי עָלֶיךָ אֶת-רִשְׁתִּי בִּקְהַל עַמִּים רַבִּים וְהֶעֱלוּךָ בְּחֶרְמִֽי׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.
שָׁם אַשּׁוּר וְכָל-קְהָלָהּ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו קִבְרֹתָיו כֻּלָּם חֲלָלִים הַנֹּפְלִים בֶּחָֽרֶב׃
Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:
אֲשֶׁר נִתְּנוּ קִבְרֹתֶיהָ בְּיַרְכְּתֵי-בוֹר וַיְהִי קְהָלָהּ סְבִיבוֹת קְבֻרָתָהּ כֻּלָּם חֲלָלִים נֹפְלִים בַּחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר-נָתְנוּ חִתִּית בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּֽים׃
Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.
וְשׁוֹבַבְתִּיךָ וְנָתַתִּי חַחִים בִּלְחָיֶיךָ וְהוֹצֵאתִי אוֹתְךָ וְאֶת-כָּל-חֵילֶךָ סוּסִים וּפָרָשִׁים לְבֻשֵׁי מִכְלוֹל כֻּלָּם קָהָל רָב צִנָּה וּמָגֵן תֹּפְשֵׂי חֲרָבוֹת כֻּלָּֽם׃
And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
הִכֹּן וְהָכֵן לְךָ אַתָּה וְכָל-קְהָלֶךָ הַנִּקְהָלִים עָלֶיךָ וְהָיִיתָ לָהֶם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃
Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
שְׁבָא וּדְדָן וְסֹחֲרֵי תַרְשִׁישׁ וְכָל-כְּפִירֶיהָ יֹאמְרוּ לְךָ הֲלִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל אַתָּה בָא הֲלָבֹז בַּז הִקְהַלְתָּ קְהָלֶךָ לָשֵׂאת׀ כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב לָקַחַת מִקְנֶה וְקִנְיָן לִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל גָּדֽוֹל׃
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
וּבָאתָ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי צָפוֹן אַתָּה וְעַמִּים רַבִּים אִתָּךְ רֹכְבֵי סוּסִים כֻּלָּם קָהָל גָּדוֹל וְחַיִל רָֽב׃
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
כַּאֲשֶׁר יֵלֵכוּ אֶפְרוֹשׂ עֲלֵיהֶם רִשְׁתִּי כְּעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם אֽוֹרִידֵם אַיְסִירֵם כְּשֵׁמַע לַעֲדָתָֽם׃
When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
אִסְפוּ-עָם קַדְּשׁוּ קָהָל קִבְצוּ זְקֵנִים אִסְפוּ עֽוֹלָלִים וְיֹנְקֵי שָׁדָיִם יֵצֵא חָתָן מֵֽחֶדְרוֹ וְכַלָּה מֵחֻפָּתָֽהּ׃
Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
לָכֵן לֹֽא-יִֽהְיֶה לְךָ מַשְׁלִיךְ חֶבֶל בְּגוֹרָל בִּקְהַל יְהוָֽה׃
Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
