συμβουλεύω σοι ἀγοράσαι παρ' ἐμοῦ χρυσίον πεπυρωμένον ἐκ πυρὸς ἵνα πλουτήσῃς καὶ ἱμάτια λευκὰ ἵνα περιβάλῃ καὶ μὴ φανερωθῇ ἡ αἰσχύνη τῆς γυμνότητός σου καὶ κολλούριον ἐγχρῖσον τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου ἵνα βλέπῃς
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
καὶ εἰ ὁ δίκαιος μόλις σῴζεται ὁ ἀσεβὴς καὶ ἁμαρτωλὸς ποῦ φανεῖται
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הַשָּׂטָן יִגְעַר יְהוָה בְּךָ הַשָּׂטָן וְיִגְעַר יְהוָה בְּךָ הַבֹּחֵר בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם הֲלוֹא זֶה אוּד מֻצָּל מֵאֵֽשׁ׃
And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

הִרְכַּבְתָּ אֱנוֹשׁ לְרֹאשֵׁנוּ בָּֽאנוּ-בָאֵשׁ וּבַמַּיִם וַתּוֹצִיאֵנוּ לָֽרְוָיָֽה׃
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

καὶ τοὺς λοιποὺς οὓς μὲν ἐπὶ σανίσιν οὓς δὲ ἐπί τινων τῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ πλοίου καὶ οὕτως ἐγένετο πάντας διασωθῆναι ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν
And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped safe all to land.
