Μηκέτι ὑδροπότει ἀλλ' οἴνῳ ὀλίγῳ χρῶ διὰ τὸν στόμαχον σου καὶ τὰς πυκνάς σοῦ ἀσθενείας
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for sake thy stomach's and thine often infirmities.
πρεσβύτιδας ὡσαύτως ἐν καταστήματι ἱεροπρεπεῖς μὴ διαβόλους μὴ οἴνῳ πολλῷ δεδουλωμένας καλοδιδασκάλους
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
ἐκ τοῦ αὐτοῦ στόματος ἐξέρχεται εὐλογία καὶ κατάρα οὐ χρή ἀδελφοί μου ταῦτα οὕτως γίνεσθαι
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.
τάφος ἀνεῳγμένος ὁ λάρυγξ αὐτῶν ταῖς γλώσσαις αὐτῶν ἐδολιοῦσαν ἰὸς ἀσπίδων ὑπὸ τὰ χείλη αὐτῶν·
Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
ποιμάνατε τὸ ἐν ὑμῖν ποίμνιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπισκοποῦντες μὴ ἀναγκαστῶς ἀλλ' ἑκουσίως μηδὲ αἰσχροκερδῶς ἀλλὰ προθύμως
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
כִּי אֵין בְּפִיהוּ נְכוֹנָה קִרְבָּם הַוּוֹת קֶֽבֶר-פָּתוּחַ גְּרוֹנָם לְשׁוֹנָם יַחֲלִֽיקוּן׃
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
פִּיךָ שָׁלַחְתָּ בְרָעָה וּלְשׁוֹנְךָ תַּצְמִיד מִרְמָֽה׃
Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
