Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
הַנֹּתֵן מָטָר עַל-פְּנֵי-אָרֶץ וְשֹׁלֵֽחַ מַיִם עַל-פְּנֵי חוּצֽוֹת׃
Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
וְנָֽתַתִּי מְטַֽר-אַרְצְכֶם בְּעִתּוֹ יוֹרֶה וּמַלְקוֹשׁ וְאָֽסַפְתָּ דְגָנֶךָ וְתִֽירֹשְׁךָ וְיִצְהָרֶֽךָ׃
That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
וַאֲשִׁיתֵהוּ בָתָה לֹא יִזָּמֵר וְלֹא יֵעָדֵר וְעָלָה שָׁמִיר וָשָׁיִת וְעַל הֶעָבִים אֲצַוֶּה מֵהַמְטִיר עָלָיו מָטָֽר׃
And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
טוֹב-יְהוָה לַכֹּל וְרַחֲמָיו עַל-כָּל-מַעֲשָֽׂיו׃
The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
פֶּן-תֹּאכַל וְשָׂבָעְתָּ וּבָתִּים טֹבִים תִּבְנֶה וְיָשָֽׁבְתָּ׃
Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
וְלֽוֹא-אָמְרוּ בִלְבָבָם נִירָא נָא אֶת-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ הַנֹּתֵן גֶּשֶׁם (וירה) יוֹרֶה וּמַלְקוֹשׁ בְּעִתּוֹ שְׁבֻעֹת חֻקּוֹת קָצִיר יִשְׁמָר-לָֽנוּ׃
Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
הַשָּׁמַיִם מְֽסַפְּרִים כְּבֽוֹד-אֵל וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו מַגִּיד הָרָקִֽיעַ׃
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Τοῖς πλουσίοις ἐν τῷ νῦν αἰῶνι παράγγελλε μὴ ὑψηλοφρονεῖν μηδὲ ἠλπικέναι ἐπὶ πλούτου ἀδηλότητι ἀλλ' ἐν τῷ θεῷ τῷ ζῶντι τῷ παρέχοντι ἡμῖν πλουσίως πάντα εἰς ἀπόλαυσιν
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
וְנָתַתִּי אוֹתָם וּסְבִיבוֹת גִּבְעָתִי בְּרָכָה וְהוֹרַדְתִּי הַגֶּשֶׁם בְּעִתּוֹ גִּשְׁמֵי בְרָכָה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
עֱנוּ לַיהוָה בְּתוֹדָה זַמְּרוּ לֵאלֹהֵינוּ בְכִנּֽוֹר׃
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Ἠλίας ἄνθρωπος ἦν ὁμοιοπαθὴς ἡμῖν καὶ προσευχῇ προσηύξατο τοῦ μὴ βρέξαι καὶ οὐκ ἔβρεξεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐνιαυτοὺς τρεῖς καὶ μῆνας ἕξ.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
יִפְתַּח יְהוָה׀ לְךָ אֶת-אֽוֹצָרוֹ הַטּוֹב אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם לָתֵת מְטַֽר-אַרְצְךָ בְּעִתּוֹ וּלְבָרֵךְ אֵת כָּל-מַֽעֲשֵׂה יָדֶךָ וְהִלְוִיתָ גּוֹיִם רַבִּים וְאַתָּה לֹא תִלְוֶֽה׃
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
וְנָֽתַתִּי גִשְׁמֵיכֶם בְּעִתָּם וְנָֽתְנָה הָאָרֶץ יְבוּלָהּ וְעֵץ הַשָּׂדֶה יִתֵּן פִּרְיֽוֹ׃
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
עֵֽינֵי-כֹל אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּ וְאַתָּה נֽוֹתֵן-לָהֶם אֶת-אָכְלָם בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃
The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
ζητεῖν τὸν Κύριον εἰ ἄρα γε ψηλαφήσειαν αὐτὸν καὶ εὕροιεν καίτοιγε οὐ μακρὰν ἀπὸ ἑνὸς ἑκάστου ἡμῶν ὑπάρχοντα
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, him, and find though he be not far from every one of us:
הֲיֵשׁ בְּהַבְלֵי הַגּוֹיִם מַגְשִׁמִים וְאִם-הַשָּׁמַיִם יִתְּנוּ רְבִבִים הֲלֹא אַתָּה-הוּא יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וּנְקַוֶּה-לָּךְ כִּֽי-אַתָּה עָשִׂיתָ אֶת-כָּל-אֵֽלֶּה׃
Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
וַֽיִּלְכְּדוּ עָרִים בְּצֻרוֹת וַֽאֲדָמָה שְׁמֵנָה וַיִּֽירְשׁוּ בָּתִּים מְלֵֽאִים-כָּל-טוּב בֹּרוֹת חֲצוּבִים כְּרָמִים וְזֵיתִים וְעֵץ מַֽאֲכָל לָרֹב וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ וַֽיִּשְׂבְּעוּ וַיַּשְׁמִינוּ וַיִּֽתְעַדְּנוּ בְּטֽוּבְךָ הַגָּדֽוֹל׃
And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
גֶּשֶׁם נְדָבוֹת תָּנִיף אֱלֹהִים נַחֲלָתְךָ וְנִלְאָה אַתָּה כֽוֹנַנְתָּֽהּ׃
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
