Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί ἔδει πληρωθῆναι τὴν γραφὴν ταύτην ἣν προεῖπεν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον διὰ στόματος Δαβὶδ περὶ Ἰούδα τοῦ γενομένου ὁδηγοῦ τοῖς συλλαβοῦσιν τὸν Ἰησοῦν
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
προφήτης οὖν ὑπάρχων καὶ εἰδὼς ὅτι ὅρκῳ ὤμοσεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς ἐκ καρποῦ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ τὸ κατὰ σάρκα ἀναστήσειν τὸν Χριστὸν καθίσαι ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ
Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn that with an oath to him, of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
