Τί οὖν ἐστιν ἀδελφοί ὅταν συνέρχησθε ἕκαστος ὑμῶν ψαλμὸν ἔχει διδαχὴν ἔχει γλῶσσαν ἔχει ἀποκάλυψιν ἔχει ἑρμηνείαν ἔχει· πάντα πρὸς οἰκοδομὴν γενέσθω
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
Κατὰ δὲ τὸ μεσονύκτιον Παῦλος καὶ Σιλᾶς προσευχόμενοι ὕμνουν τὸν θεόν ἐπηκροῶντο δὲ αὐτῶν οἱ δέσμιοι·
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
עֱנוּ לַיהוָה בְּתוֹדָה זַמְּרוּ לֵאלֹהֵינוּ בְכִנּֽוֹר׃
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Κακοπαθεῖ τις ἐν ὑμῖν προσευχέσθω· εὐθυμεῖ τις ψαλλέτω·
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
שִֽׁירוּ-לוֹ זַמְּרוּ-לוֹ שִׂיחוּ בְּכָל-נִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
ἀλλ' ἔρχεται ὥρα καὶ νῦν ἐστιν ὅτε οἱ ἀληθινοὶ προσκυνηταὶ προσκυνήσουσιν τῷ πατρὶ ἐν πνεύματι καὶ ἀληθείᾳ· καὶ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ τοιούτους ζητεῖ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας αὐτόν
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
בִּטְחוּ בוֹ בְכָל-עֵת׀ עָם שִׁפְכֽוּ-לְפָנָיו לְבַבְכֶם אֱלֹהִים מַחֲסֶה-לָּנוּ סֶֽלָה׃
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
הִנֵּה עֲבָדַי יָרֹנּוּ מִטּוּב לֵב וְאַתֶּם תִּצְעֲקוּ מִכְּאֵב לֵב וּמִשֵּׁבֶר רוּחַ תְּיֵלִֽילוּ׃
Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
אוֹדְךָ׀ אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהַי בְּכָל-לְבָבִי וַאֲכַבְּדָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָֽם׃
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
Καὶ ὑμνήσαντες ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ Ὄρος τῶν Ἐλαιῶν
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
כִּי מֶלֶךְ כָּל-הָאָרֶץ אֱלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ מַשְׂכִּֽיל׃
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
Ἐγγίζει μοι Ὁ λαὸς οὗτος τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν καὶ τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόῤῥω ἀπέχει ἀπ' ἐμοῦ·
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
