And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς χάρουσιν ἐπ' αὐτοῖς καὶ εὐφρανθήσονται καὶ δῶρα πέμψουσιν ἀλλήλοις ὅτι οὗτοι οἱ δύο προφῆται ἐβασάνισαν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
λέγων Ἥμαρτον παραδοὺς αἷμα ἀθῷον οἱ δὲ εἶπον Τί πρὸς ἡμᾶς σὺ ὄψει
Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
