And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no unto more speak you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
διὰ τοῦτο ἐν παραβολαῖς αὐτοῖς λαλῶ ὅτι βλέποντες οὐ βλέπουσιν καὶ ἀκούοντες οὐκ ἀκούουσιν οὐδὲ συνίουσιν
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
