Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
רָאמוֹת וְגָבִישׁ לֹא יִזָּכֵר וּמֶשֶׁךְ חָכְמָה מִפְּנִינִֽים׃
No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
עֹֽשֶׁר-וְכָבוֹד אִתִּי הוֹן עָתֵק וּצְדָקָֽה׃
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
סוֹף דָּבָר הַכֹּל נִשְׁמָע אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים יְרָא וְאֶת-מִצְוֹתָיו שְׁמוֹר כִּי-זֶה כָּל-הָאָדָֽם׃
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
אַךְ-בְּצֶלֶם׀ יִֽתְהַלֶּךְ-אִישׁ אַךְ-הֶבֶל יֶהֱמָיוּן יִצְבֹּר וְֽלֹא-יֵדַע מִי-אֹסְפָֽם׃
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
οἱ δὲ ἀμελήσαντες ἀπῆλθον ὁ μὲν εἰς τὸν ἴδιον ἀγρόν ὁ δὲ εἰς τὴν ἐμπορίαν αὐτοῦ·
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
רַבִּים אֹמְרִים מִֽי-יַרְאֵנוּ טוֹב נְֽסָה-עָלֵינוּ אוֹר פָּנֶיךָ יְהוָֽה׃
There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
הֲבֵל הֲבָלִים אָמַר הַקּוֹהֶלֶת הַכֹּל הָֽבֶל׃
Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
לִשְׂחוֹק אָמַרְתִּי מְהוֹלָל וּלְשִׂמְחָה מַה-זֹּה עֹשָֽׂה׃
I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it?
