And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave leave. him He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
Καὶ ἤδη ὀψίας γενομένης ἐπεὶ ἦν παρασκευή ὅ ἐστιν προσάββατον
And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
Καὶ ἰδού ἀνὴρ ὀνόματι Ἰωσὴφ βουλευτὴς ὑπάρχων ἀνὴρ ἀγαθὸς καὶ δίκαιος
And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counseller; and he was a good man, and a just:
וַיְהִי אִישׁ אֶחָד מִן-הָרָֽמָתַיִם צוֹפִים מֵהַר אֶפְרָיִם וּשְׁמוֹ אֶלְקָנָה בֶּן-יְרֹחָם בֶּן-אֱלִיהוּא בֶּן-תֹּחוּ בֶן-צוּף אֶפְרָתִֽי׃
Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:
וּתְשֻֽׁבָתוֹ הָֽרָמָתָה כִּֽי-שָׁם בֵּיתוֹ וְשָׁם שָׁפָט אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּֽבֶן-שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃
And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.
