οὕτως οὖν πᾶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ὃς οὐκ ἀποτάσσεται πᾶσιν τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ὑπάρχουσιν οὐ δύναται μου εἶναί μαθητής
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
ποῦ σοφός ποῦ γραμματεύς ποῦ συζητητὴς τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου οὐχὶ ἐμώρανεν ὁ θεὸς τὴν σοφίαν τοῦ κόσμου τούτου
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ γραμματεύς Καλῶς διδάσκαλε ἐπ' ἀληθείας εἶπας ὅτι εἷς ἐστιν Θεὸς καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἄλλος πλὴν αὐτοῦ·
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
Ἐγένετο δὲ πορευομένων αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ εἶπέν τις πρὸς αὐτόν Ἀκολουθήσω σοι ὅπου ἂν ἀπέρχῃ Κύριε
And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
