II. חַיָּה noun feminine (si vera lectio) community ( = feminine of II. חַי according to ZMG, 1886, 176) — וְחַיַּת פְּלִשְׁתִּים חֹנָה and a community of Philistines (i.e. a group of allied families, making a raid together) was encamping 2Sam 23:13 ( = מַחֲנֵה 1Chr 11:15); perhaps also Ps 68:11 (compare below)

Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
