Genesis 23

גֵּר-וְתוֹשָׁב אָֽנֹכִי עִמָּכֶם תְּנוּ לִי אֲחֻזַּת-קֶבֶר עִמָּכֶם וְאֶקְבְּרָה מֵתִי מִלְּפָנָֽי׃

I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
שְׁמָעֵנוּ׀ אֲדֹנִי נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים אַתָּה בְּתוֹכֵנוּ בְּמִבְחַר קְבָרֵינוּ קְבֹר אֶת-מֵתֶךָ אִישׁ מִמֶּנּוּ אֶת-קִבְרוֹ לֹֽא-יִכְלֶה מִמְּךָ מִקְּבֹר מֵתֶֽךָ׃

Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.
וְיִתֶּן-לִי אֶת-מְעָרַת הַמַּכְפֵּלָה אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה שָׂדֵהוּ בְּכֶסֶף מָלֵא יִתְּנֶנָּה לִי בְּתֽוֹכְכֶם לַֽאֲחֻזַּת-קָֽבֶר׃

That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
וַיָּקָם הַשָּׂדֶה וְהַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר-בּוֹ לְאַבְרָהָם לַֽאֲחֻזַּת-קָבֶר מֵאֵת בְּנֵי-חֵֽת׃

Genesis 37

Genesis 44

וּלְקַחְתֶּם גַּם-אֶת-זֶה מֵעִם פָּנַי וְקָרָהוּ אָסוֹן וְהֽוֹרַדְתֶּם אֶת-שֵֽׂיבָתִי בְּרָעָה שְׁאֹֽלָה׃

And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Genesis 49

Genesis 50

Exodus 14

2 Kings 23

וַיִּשְׁכַּב יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ עִם-אֲבֹתָיו וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻהוּ בְּֽמַעֲלֵה קִבְרֵי בְנֵֽי-דָוִיד וְכָבוֹד עָֽשׂוּ-לוֹ בְמוֹתוֹ כָּל-יְהוּדָה וְיֹֽשְׁבֵי יְרֽוּשָׁלִָם וַיִּמְלֹךְ מְנַשֶּׁה בְנוֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

2 Chronicles 34

וַיְנַתְּצוּ לְפָנָיו אֵת מִזְבְּחוֹת הַבְּעָלִים וְהַֽחַמָּנִים אֲשֶׁר-לְמַעְלָה מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶם גִּדֵּעַ וְהָֽאֲשֵׁרִים וְהַפְּסִלִים וְהַמַּסֵּכוֹת שִׁבַּר וְהֵדַק וַיִּזְרֹק עַל-פְּנֵי הַקְּבָרִים הַזֹּֽבְחִים לָהֶֽם׃

And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
הִנְנִי אֹֽסִפְךָ אֶל-אֲבֹתֶיךָ וְנֶֽאֱסַפְתָּ אֶל-קִבְרוֹתֶיךָ בְּשָׁלוֹם וְלֹֽא-תִרְאֶינָה עֵינֶיךָ בְּכֹל הָֽרָעָה אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי מֵבִיא עַל-הַמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה וְעַל-יֹֽשְׁבָיו וַיָּשִׁיבוּ אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּבָֽר׃

Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

2 Chronicles 35

וַיַּֽעֲבִירֻהוּ עֲבָדָיו מִן-הַמֶּרְכָּבָה וַֽיַּרְכִּיבֻהוּ עַל רֶכֶב הַמִּשְׁנֶה אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ וַיּֽוֹלִיכֻהוּ יְרוּשָׁלִַם וַיָּמָת וַיִּקָּבֵר בְּקִבְרוֹת אֲבֹתָיו וְכָל-יְהוּדָה וִירוּשָׁלִַם מִֽתְאַבְּלִים עַל-יֹֽאשִׁיָּֽהוּ׃

His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

Nehemiah 2

וָֽאֹמַר לַמֶּלֶךְ הַמֶּלֶךְ לְעוֹלָם יִֽחְיֶה מַדּוּעַ לֹֽא-יֵרְעוּ פָנַי אֲשֶׁר הָעִיר בֵּית-קִבְרוֹת אֲבֹתַי חֲרֵבָה וּשְׁעָרֶיהָ אֻכְּלוּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
וָֽאֹמַר לַמֶּלֶךְ אִם-עַל-הַמֶּלֶךְ טוֹב וְאִם-יִיטַב עַבְדְּךָ לְפָנֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁלָחֵנִי אֶל-יְהוּדָה אֶל-עִיר קִבְרוֹת אֲבֹתַי וְאֶבְנֶֽנָּה׃

And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.

Nehemiah 3

O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

וְכֻפַּר בְּרִֽיתְכֶם אֶת-מָוֶת וְחָזוּתְכֶם אֶת-שְׁאוֹל לֹא תָקוּם שׁוֹט שׁוֹטֵף כִּי יַֽעֲבֹר וִהְיִיתֶם לוֹ לְמִרְמָֽס׃

And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
