διὸ εὐδοκῶ ἐν ἀσθενείαις ἐν ὕβρεσιν ἐν ἀνάγκαις ἐν διωγμοῖς ἐν στενοχωρίαις ὑπὲρ Χριστοῦ· ὅταν γὰρ ἀσθενῶ τότε δυνατός εἰμι
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
וַיֹּאמֶר אַל-תִּירָא אִישׁ-חֲמֻדוֹת שָׁלוֹם לָךְ חֲזַק וַחֲזָק וּֽכְדַבְּרוֹ עִמִּי הִתְחַזַּקְתִּי וָאֹמְרָה יְדַבֵּר אֲדֹנִי כִּי חִזַּקְתָּֽנִי׃
And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
Σὺ οὖν τέκνον μου ἐνδυναμοῦ ἐν τῇ χάριτι τῇ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

אִמְרוּ לְנִמְהֲרֵי-לֵב חִזְקוּ אַל-תִּירָאוּ הִנֵּה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם נָקָם יָבוֹא גְּמוּל אֱלֹהִים הוּא יָבוֹא וְיֹשַׁעֲכֶֽם׃
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
וַיֹּאמֶר הַקְשִׁיבוּ כָל-יְהוּדָה וְיֹֽשְׁבֵי יְרֽוּשָׁלִַם וְהַמֶּלֶךְ יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט כֹּֽה-אָמַר יְהוָה לָכֶם אַתֶּם אַל-תִּֽירְאוּ וְאַל-תֵּחַתּוּ מִפְּנֵי הֶֽהָמוֹן הָרָב הַזֶּה כִּי לֹא לָכֶם הַמִּלְחָמָה כִּי לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃
And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
וְהָיָה כַּאֲשֶׁר הֱיִיתֶם קְלָלָה בַּגּוֹיִם בֵּית יְהוּדָה וּבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל כֵּן אוֹשִׁיעַ אֶתְכֶם וִהְיִיתֶם בְּרָכָה אַל-תִּירָאוּ תֶּחֱזַקְנָה יְדֵיכֶֽם׃
And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
וְעַתָּה חֲזַק זְרֻבָּבֶל׀ נְאֻם-יְהוָה וַחֲזַק יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בֶּן-יְהוֹצָדָק הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל וַחֲזַק כָּל-עַם הָאָרֶץ נְאֻם-יְהוָה וַֽעֲשׂוּ כִּֽי-אֲנִי אִתְּכֶם נְאֻם יְהוָה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
כֹּֽה-אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת תֶּחֱזַקְנָה יְדֵיכֶם הַשֹּֽׁמְעִים בַּיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה אֵת הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה מִפִּי הַנְּבִיאִים אֲשֶׁר בְּיוֹם יֻסַּד בֵּית-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת הַהֵיכָל לְהִבָּנֽוֹת׃
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation laid, of the house of the LORD of hosts was that the temple might be built.
וַיַּעַן הַשָּׁלִישׁ אֶת-אִישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמַר וְהִנֵּה יְהוָה עֹשֶׂה אֲרֻבּוֹת בַּשָּׁמַיִם הֲיִֽהְיֶה כַּדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַיֹּאמֶר הִנְּךָ רֹאֶה בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּמִשָּׁם לֹא תֹאכֵֽל׃
And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
וָאֶתְפַּלֵּל אֶל-יְהוָה אַחֲרֵי תִתִּי אֶת-סֵפֶר הַמִּקְנָה אֶל-בָּרוּךְ בֶּן-נֵרִיָּה לֵאמֹֽר׃
Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,
וַיַּעַן הַשָּׁלִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-לַמֶּלֶךְ נִשְׁעָן עַל-יָדוֹ אֶת-אִישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמַר הִנֵּה יְהוָה עֹשֶׂה אֲרֻבּוֹת בַּשָּׁמַיִם הֲיִֽהְיֶה הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַיֹּאמֶר הִנְּכָה רֹאֶה בְּעֵינֶיךָ וּמִשָּׁם לֹא תֹאכֵֽל׃
Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
Καὶ εἶπεν Ζαχαρίας πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον Κατὰ τί γνώσομαι τοῦτο ἐγὼ γάρ εἰμι πρεσβύτης καὶ ἡ γυνή μου προβεβηκυῖα ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτῆς
And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
וּמַרְשִׁיעֵי בְרִית יַחֲנִיף בַּחֲלַקּוֹת וְעַם יֹדְעֵי אֱלֹהָיו יַחֲזִקוּ וְעָשֽׂוּ׃
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
מֵאַיִן לִי בָּשָׂר לָתֵת לְכָל-הָעָם הַזֶּה כִּֽי-יִבְכּוּ עָלַי לֵאמֹר תְּנָה-לָּנוּ בָשָׂר וְנֹאכֵֽלָה׃
Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
Τὸ λοιπὸν ἀδελφοί μου ἐνδυναμοῦσθε ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κράτει τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ἐθαύμασαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν θεὸν τὸν δόντα ἐξουσίαν τοιαύτην τοῖς ἀνθρώποις
But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
