וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת הַמּֽוֹאֲבִיָּה אֶֽל-נָעֳמִי אֵֽלְכָה-נָּא הַשָּׂדֶה וַֽאֲלַקֳּטָה בַשִּׁבֳּלִים אַחַר אֲשֶׁר אֶמְצָא-חֵן בְּעֵינָיו וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ לְכִי בִתִּֽי׃
And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
וַיֹּאמֶר בֹּעַז אֶל-רוּת הֲלוֹא שָׁמַעַתְּ בִּתִּי אַל-תֵּֽלְכִי לִלְקֹט בְּשָׂדֶה אַחֵר וְגַם לֹא תַֽעֲבוּרִי מִזֶּה וְכֹה תִדְבָּקִין עִם-נַֽעֲרֹתָֽי׃
Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:
וַתֹּאמֶר נָֽעֳמִי אֶל-רוּת כַּלָּתָהּ טוֹב בִּתִּי כִּי תֵֽצְאִי עִם-נַעֲרוֹתָיו וְלֹא יִפְגְּעוּ-בָךְ בְּשָׂדֶה אַחֵֽר׃
And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ נָֽעֳמִי חֲמוֹתָהּ בִּתִּי הֲלֹא אֲבַקֶּשׁ-לָךְ מָנוֹחַ אֲשֶׁר יִֽיטַב-לָֽךְ׃
Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
וַיֹּאמֶר בְּרוּכָה אַתְּ לַֽיהוָה בִּתִּי הֵיטַבְתְּ חַסְדֵּךְ הָאַֽחֲרוֹן מִן-הָֽרִאשׁוֹן לְבִלְתִּי-לֶכֶת אַֽחֲרֵי הַבַּחוּרִים אִם-דַּל וְאִם-עָשִֽׁיר׃
And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
וְעַתָּה בִּתִּי אַל-תִּירְאִי כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-תֹּֽאמְרִי אֶֽעֱשֶׂה-לָּךְ כִּי יוֹדֵעַ כָּל-שַׁעַר עַמִּי כִּי אֵשֶׁת חַיִל אָֽתְּ׃
And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
וַתָּבוֹא אֶל-חֲמוֹתָהּ וַתֹּאמֶר מִי-אַתְּ בִּתִּי וַתַּגֶּד-לָהּ אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר עָֽשָׂה-לָהּ הָאִֽישׁ׃
And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
וַתֹּאמֶר שְׁבִי בִתִּי עַד אֲשֶׁר תֵּֽדְעִין אֵיךְ יִפֹּל דָּבָר כִּי לֹא יִשְׁקֹט הָאִישׁ כִּֽי-אִם-כִּלָּה הַדָּבָר הַיּֽוֹם׃
Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
וַיְהִי הַיּוֹם וַיִּזְבַּח אֶלְקָנָה וְנָתַן לִפְנִנָּה אִשְׁתּוֹ וּֽלְכָל-בָּנֶיהָ וּבְנוֹתֶיהָ מָנֽוֹת׃
And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:
אַל-תִּתֵּן אֶת-אֲמָתְךָ לִפְנֵי בַּת-בְּלִיָּעַל כִּֽי-מֵרֹב שִׂיחִי וְכַעְסִי דִּבַּרְתִּי עַד-הֵֽנָּה׃
Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.
כִּֽי-פָקַד יְהוָה אֶת-חַנָּה וַתַּהַר וַתֵּלֶד שְׁלֹשָֽׁה-בָנִים וּשְׁתֵּי בָנוֹת וַיִּגְדַּל הַנַּעַר שְׁמוּאֵל עִם-יְהוָֽה׃
And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
וְאֶת-בְּנֽוֹתֵיכֶם יִקָּח לְרַקָּחוֹת וּלְטַבָּחוֹת וּלְאֹפֽוֹת׃
And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ בְּנֵי שָׁאוּל יֽוֹנָתָן וְיִשְׁוִי וּמַלְכִּי-שׁוּעַ וְשֵׁם שְׁתֵּי בְנֹתָיו שֵׁם הַבְּכִירָה מֵרַב וְשֵׁם הַקְּטַנָּה מִיכַֽל׃
Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishui, and Melchi-shua: and the names of his two daughters were these; the name of the firstborn Merab, and the name of the younger Michal:
וְשֵׁם אֵשֶׁת שָׁאוּל אֲחִינֹעַם בַּת-אֲחִימָעַץ וְשֵׁם שַׂר-צְבָאוֹ אֲבִינֵר בֶּן-נֵר דּוֹד שָׁאֽוּל׃
And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle.
וַיֹּאמֶר׀ אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל הַרְּאִיתֶם הָאִישׁ הָֽעֹלֶה הַזֶּה כִּי לְחָרֵף אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹלֶה וְֽהָיָה הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-יַכֶּנּוּ יַעְשְׁרֶנּוּ הַמֶּלֶךְ׀ עֹשֶׁר גָּדוֹל וְאֶת-בִּתּוֹ יִתֶּן-לוֹ וְאֵת בֵּית אָבִיו יַֽעֲשֶׂה חָפְשִׁי בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.
וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל אֶל-דָּוִד הִנֵּה בִתִּי הַגְּדוֹלָה מֵרַב אֹתָהּ אֶתֶּן-לְךָ לְאִשָּׁה אַךְ הֱיֵה-לִּי לְבֶן-חַיִל וְהִלָּחֵם מִלְחֲמוֹת יְהוָה וְשָׁאוּל אָמַר אַל-תְּהִי יָדִי בּוֹ וּתְהִי-בוֹ יַד-פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.
וַיְהִי בְּעֵת תֵּת אֶת-מֵרַב בַּת-שָׁאוּל לְדָוִד וְהִיא נִתְּנָה לְעַדְרִיאֵל הַמְּחֹֽלָתִי לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
But it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, that she was given unto Adriel the Meholathite to wife.
וַתֶּֽאֱהַב מִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל אֶת-דָּוִד וַיַּגִּדוּ לְשָׁאוּל וַיִּשַׁר הַדָּבָר בְּעֵינָֽיו׃
And Michal Saul's daughter loved David: and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.
וַיָּקָם דָּוִד וַיֵּלֶךְ׀ הוּא וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו וַיַּךְ בַּפְּלִשְׁתִּים מָאתַיִם אִישׁ וַיָּבֵא דָוִד אֶת-עָרְלֹתֵיהֶם וַיְמַלְאוּם לַמֶּלֶךְ לְהִתְחַתֵּן בַּמֶּלֶךְ וַיִּתֶּן-לוֹ שָׁאוּל אֶת-מִיכַל בִּתּוֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.
וַיַּרְא שָׁאוּל וַיֵּדַע כִּי יְהוָה עִם-דָּוִד וּמִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל אֲהֵבַֽתְהוּ׃
And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal Saul's daughter loved him.
וְשָׁאוּל נָתַן אֶת-מִיכַל בִּתּוֹ אֵשֶׁת דָּוִד לְפַלְטִי בֶן-לַיִשׁ אֲשֶׁר מִגַּלִּֽים׃
But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.
וַיָּבֹא דָוִד וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו אֶל-הָעִיר וְהִנֵּה שְׂרוּפָה בָּאֵשׁ וּנְשֵׁיהֶם וּבְנֵיהֶם וּבְנֹֽתֵיהֶם נִשְׁבּֽוּ׃
So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
וַתֵּצֶר לְדָוִד מְאֹד כִּֽי-אָמְרוּ הָעָם לְסָקְלוֹ כִּֽי-מָרָה נֶפֶשׁ כָּל-הָעָם אִישׁ עַל-(בנו) בָּנָיו וְעַל-בְּנֹתָיו וַיִּתְחַזֵּק דָּוִד בַּֽיהוָה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
וְלֹא נֶעְדַּר-לָהֶם מִן-הַקָּטֹן וְעַד-הַגָּדוֹל וְעַד-בָּנִים וּבָנוֹת וּמִשָּׁלָל וְעַד כָּל-אֲשֶׁר לָֽקְחוּ לָהֶם הַכֹּל הֵשִׁיב דָּוִֽד׃
And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
אַל-תַּגִּידֽוּ בְגַת אַֽל-תְּבַשְּׂרוּ בְּחוּצֹת אַשְׁקְלוֹן פֶּן-תִּשְׂמַחְנָה בְּנוֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּים פֶּֽן-תַּעֲלֹזְנָה בְּנוֹת הָֽעֲרֵלִֽים׃
Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
בְּנוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-שָׁאוּל בְּכֶינָה הַמַּלְבִּֽשְׁכֶם שָׁנִי עִם-עֲדָנִים הַֽמַּעֲלֶה עֲדִי זָהָב עַל לְבוּשְׁכֶֽן׃
Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
וּמִשְׁנֵהוּ כִלְאָב (לאביגל) לַאֲֽבִיגַיִל אֵשֶׁת נָבָל הַֽכַּרְמְלִי וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁי אַבְשָׁלוֹם בֶּֽן-מַעֲכָה בַּת-תַּלְמַי מֶלֶךְ גְּשֽׁוּר׃
And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
וּלְשָׁאוּל פִּלֶגֶשׁ וּשְׁמָהּ רִצְפָּה בַת-אַיָּה וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-אַבְנֵר מַדּוּעַ בָּאתָה אֶל-פִּילֶגֶשׁ אָבִֽי׃
And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father's concubine?
וַיֹּאמֶר טוֹב אֲנִי אֶכְרֹת אִתְּךָ בְּרִית אַךְ דָּבָר אֶחָד אָֽנֹכִי שֹׁאֵל מֵֽאִתְּךָ לֵאמֹר לֹֽא-תִרְאֶה אֶת-פָּנַי כִּי׀ אִם-לִפְנֵי הֱבִֽיאֲךָ אֵת מִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל בְּבֹֽאֲךָ לִרְאוֹת אֶת-פָּנָֽי׃
And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.
וַיִּקַּח דָּוִד עוֹד פִּֽלַגְשִׁים וְנָשִׁים מִירוּשָׁלִַם אַֽחֲרֵי בֹּאוֹ מֵֽחֶבְרוֹן וַיִּוָּלְדוּ עוֹד לְדָוִד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
וְהָיָה אֲרוֹן יְהוָה בָּא עִיר דָּוִד וּמִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל נִשְׁקְפָה׀ בְּעַד הַֽחַלּוֹן וַתֵּרֶא אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד מְפַזֵּז וּמְכַרְכֵּר לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַתִּבֶז לוֹ בְּלִבָּֽהּ׃
And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
וַיָּשָׁב דָּוִד לְבָרֵךְ אֶת-בֵּיתוֹ וַתֵּצֵא מִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל לִקְרַאת דָּוִד וַתֹּאמֶר מַה-נִּכְבַּד הַיּוֹם מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר נִגְלָה הַיּוֹם לְעֵינֵי אַמְהוֹת עֲבָדָיו כְּהִגָּלוֹת נִגְלוֹת אַחַד הָרֵקִֽים׃
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
וּלְמִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל לֹא-הָיָה לָהּ יָלֶד עַד יוֹם מוֹתָֽהּ׃
Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
וַיִּשְׁלַח דָּוִד וַיִּדְרֹשׁ לָֽאִשָּׁה וַיֹּאמֶר הֲלוֹא-זֹאת בַּת-שֶׁבַע בַּת-אֱלִיעָם אֵשֶׁת אֽוּרִיָּה הַֽחִתִּֽי׃
David And sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
וְלָרָשׁ אֵֽין-כֹּל כִּי אִם-כִּבְשָׂה אַחַת קְטַנָּה אֲשֶׁר קָנָה וַיְחַיֶּהָ וַתִּגְדַּל עִמּוֹ וְעִם-בָּנָיו יַחְדָּו מִפִּתּוֹ תֹאכַל וּמִכֹּסוֹ תִשְׁתֶּה וּבְחֵיקוֹ תִשְׁכָּב וַתְּהִי-לוֹ כְּבַֽת׃
But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
וְעָלֶיהָ כְּתֹנֶת פַּסִּים כִּי כֵן תִּלְבַּשְׁןָ בְנוֹת-הַמֶּלֶךְ הַבְּתוּלֹת מְעִילִים וַיֹּצֵא אוֹתָהּ מְשָֽׁרְתוֹ הַחוּץ וְנָעַל הַדֶּלֶת אַֽחֲרֶֽיהָ׃
And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
וַיִּוָּֽלְדוּ לְאַבְשָׁלוֹם שְׁלוֹשָׁה בָנִים וּבַת אַחַת וּשְׁמָהּ תָּמָר הִיא הָֽיְתָה אִשָּׁה יְפַת מַרְאֶֽה׃
And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.
וְאֶת-עֲמָשָׂא שָׂם אַבְשָׁלֹם תַּחַת יוֹאָב עַל-הַצָּבָא וַֽעֲמָשָׂא בֶן-אִישׁ וּשְׁמוֹ יִתְרָא הַיִּשְׂרְאֵלִי אֲשֶׁר-בָּא אֶל-אֲבִיגַל בַּת-נָחָשׁ אֲחוֹת צְרוּיָה אֵם יוֹאָֽב׃
And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.
וַיָּבֹא יוֹאָב אֶל-הַמֶּלֶךְ הַבָּיִת וַיֹּאמֶר הֹבַשְׁתָּ הַיּוֹם אֶת-פְּנֵי כָל-עֲבָדֶיךָ הַֽמְמַלְּטִים אֶֽת-נַפְשְׁךָ הַיּוֹם וְאֵת נֶפֶשׁ בָּנֶיךָ וּבְנֹתֶיךָ וְנֶפֶשׁ נָשֶׁיךָ וְנֶפֶשׁ פִּֽלַגְשֶֽׁיךָ׃
And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
וַיִּקַּח הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת-שְׁנֵי בְּנֵי רִצְפָּה בַת-אַיָּה אֲשֶׁר יָֽלְדָה לְשָׁאוּל אֶת-אַרְמֹנִי וְאֶת-מְפִבֹשֶׁת וְאֶת-חֲמֵשֶׁת בְּנֵי מִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל אֲשֶׁר יָֽלְדָה לְעַדְרִיאֵל בֶּן-בַּרְזִלַּי הַמְּחֹֽלָתִֽי׃
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
וַתִּקַּח רִצְפָּה בַת-אַיָּה אֶת-הַשַּׂק וַתַּטֵּהוּ לָהּ אֶל-הַצּוּר מִתְּחִלַּת קָצִיר עַד נִתַּךְ-מַיִם עֲלֵיהֶם מִן-הַשָּׁמָיִם וְלֹֽא-נָתְנָה עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם לָנוּחַ עֲלֵיהֶם יוֹמָם וְאֶת-חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה לָֽיְלָה׃
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
וַיֻּגַּד לְדָוִד אֵת אֲשֶׁר-עָֽשְׂתָה רִצְפָּה בַת-אַיָּה פִּלֶגֶשׁ שָׁאֽוּל׃
And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
וַיִּתְחַתֵּן שְׁלֹמֹה אֶת-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם וַיִּקַּח אֶת-בַּת-פַּרְעֹה וַיְבִיאֶהָ אֶל-עִיר דָּוִד עַד כַּלֹּתוֹ לִבְנוֹת אֶת-בֵּיתוֹ וְאֶת-בֵּית יְהוָה וְאֶת-חוֹמַת יְרֽוּשָׁלִַם סָבִֽיב׃
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
בֶּן-אֲבִֽינָדָב כָּל-נָפַת דֹּאר טָפַת בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה הָיְתָה לּוֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
אֲחִימַעַץ בְּנַפְתָּלִי גַּם-הוּא לָקַח אֶת-בָּֽשְׂמַת בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
וּבֵיתוֹ אֲשֶׁר-יֵשֶׁב שָׁם חָצֵר הָֽאַחֶרֶת מִבֵּית לָֽאוּלָם כַּמַּֽעֲשֶׂה הַזֶּה הָיָה וּבַיִת יַֽעֲשֶׂה לְבַת-פַּרְעֹה אֲשֶׁר לָקַח שְׁלֹמֹה כָּֽאוּלָם הַזֶּֽה׃
And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.
פַּרְעֹה מֶֽלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם עָלָה וַיִּלְכֹּד אֶת-גֶּזֶר וַיִּשְׂרְפָהּ בָּאֵשׁ וְאֶת-הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי הַיֹּשֵׁב בָּעִיר הָרָג וַֽיִּתְּנָהּ שִׁלֻּחִים לְבִתּוֹ אֵשֶׁת שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃
For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon's wife.
אַךְ בַּת-פַּרְעֹה עָֽלְתָה מֵעִיר דָּוִד אֶל-בֵּיתָהּ אֲשֶׁר בָּֽנָה-לָהּ אָז בָּנָה אֶת-הַמִּלּֽוֹא׃
But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.
וְהַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אָהַב נָשִׁים נָכְרִיּוֹת רַבּוֹת וְאֶת-בַּת-פַּרְעֹה מֽוֹאֲבִיּוֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת אֲדֹמִיֹּת צֵֽדְנִיֹּת חִתִּיֹּֽת׃
But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
שָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מַֽעֲכָה בַּת-אֲבִישָׁלֽוֹם׃
Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
וְאַרְבָּעִים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מַֽעֲכָה בַּת-אֲבִישָׁלֽוֹם׃
And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
וַֽיְהִי הֲנָקֵל לֶכְתּוֹ בְּחַטֹּאות יָֽרָבְעָם בֶּן-נְבָט וַיִּקַּח אִשָּׁה אֶת-אִיזֶבֶל בַּת-אֶתְבַּעַל מֶלֶךְ צִֽידֹנִים וַיֵּלֶךְ וַֽיַּעֲבֹד אֶת-הַבַּעַל וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ לֽוֹ׃
And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט בֶּן-שְׁלֹשִׁים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה בְּמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲזוּבָה בַּת-שִׁלְחִֽי׃
Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
וַיֵּלֶךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ׀ מַלְכֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּֽאֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ בֵּית אַחְאָב כִּי בַּת-אַחְאָב הָיְתָה לּוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַיַּעַשׂ הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָֽה׃
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה אֲחַזְיָהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְשָׁנָה אַחַת מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲתַלְיָהוּ בַּת-עָמְרִי מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
וַיָּבֹא וַיֹּאכַל וַיֵּשְׁתְּ וַיֹּאמֶר פִּקְדוּ-נָא אֶת-הָֽאֲרוּרָה הַזֹּאת וְקִבְרוּהָ כִּי בַת-מֶלֶךְ הִֽיא׃
And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.
וַתִּקַּח יְהוֹשֶׁבַע בַּת-הַמֶּֽלֶךְ-יוֹרָם אֲחוֹת אֲחַזְיָהוּ אֶת-יוֹאָשׁ בֶּן-אֲחַזְיָה וַתִּגְנֹב אֹתוֹ מִתּוֹךְ בְּנֵֽי-הַמֶּלֶךְ (הממותתים) הַמּוּמָתִים אֹתוֹ וְאֶת-מֵֽינִקְתּוֹ בַּֽחֲדַר הַמִּטּוֹת וַיַּסְתִּרוּ אֹתוֹ מִפְּנֵי עֲתַלְיָהוּ וְלֹא הוּמָֽת׃
But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.
וַיִּשְׁלַח יְהוֹאָשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-אֲמַצְיָהוּ מֶֽלֶךְ-יְהוּדָה לֵאמֹר הַחוֹחַ אֲשֶׁר בַּלְּבָנוֹן שָׁלַח אֶל-הָאֶרֶז אֲשֶׁר בַּלְּבָנוֹן לֵאמֹר תְּנָֽה-אֶת-בִּתְּךָ לִבְנִי לְאִשָּׁה וַֽתַּעֲבֹר חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר בַּלְּבָנוֹן וַתִּרְמֹס אֶת-הַחֽוֹחַ׃
And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וְשֵׁשׁ-עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְרוּשָׁא בַּת-צָדֽוֹק׃
Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
וַֽיַּעֲבִירוּ אֶת-בְּנֵיהֶם וְאֶת-בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶם בָּאֵשׁ וַיִּקְסְמוּ קְסָמִים וַיְנַחֵשׁוּ וַיִּֽתְמַכְּרוּ לַֽעֲשׂוֹת הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה לְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃
And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וָתֵשַׁע שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ אֲבִי בַּת-זְכַרְיָֽה׃
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר-דִּבֶּר יְהוָה עָלָיו בָּזָה לְךָ לָֽעֲגָה לְךָ בְּתוּלַת בַּת-צִיּוֹן אַֽחֲרֶיךָ רֹאשׁ הֵנִיעָה בַּת יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה אָמוֹן בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנִים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מְשֻׁלֶּמֶת בַּת-חָרוּץ מִן-יָטְבָֽה׃
Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
בֶּן-שְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנָה יֹֽאשִׁיָּהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְדִידָה בַת-עֲדָיָה מִבָּֽצְקַֽת׃
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
וְטִמֵּא אֶת-הַתֹּפֶת אֲשֶׁר בְּגֵי (בני) בֶן-הִנֹּם לְבִלְתִּי לְהַֽעֲבִיר אִישׁ אֶת-בְּנוֹ וְאֶת-בִּתּוֹ בָּאֵשׁ לַמֹּֽלֶךְ׃
And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְשָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹאָחָז בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ חֲמוּטַל בַּֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹיָקִים בְּמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (זבידה) זְבוּדָּה בַת-פְּדָיָה מִן-רוּמָֽה׃
Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
בֶּן-שְׁמֹנֶה עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹיָכִין בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ נְחֻשְׁתָּא בַת-אֶלְנָתָן מִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה צִדְקִיָּהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (חמיטל) חֲמוּטַל בַּֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
וַיָּמָת בַּעַל חָנָן וַיִּמְלֹךְ תַּחְתָּיו הֲדַד וְשֵׁם עִירוֹ פָּעִי וְשֵׁם אִשְׁתּוֹ מְהֵֽיטַבְאֵל בַּת-מַטְרֵד בַּת מֵי זָהָֽב׃
And when Baal-hanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה עֵר וְאוֹנָן וְשֵׁלָה שְׁלוֹשָׁה נוֹלַד לוֹ מִבַּת-שׁוּעַ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִית וַיְהִי עֵר׀ בְּכוֹר יְהוּדָה רַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה וַיְמִיתֵֽהוּ׃
The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him.
וְאַחַר בָּא חֶצְרוֹן אֶל-בַּת-מָכִיר אֲבִי גִלְעָד וְהוּא לְקָחָהּ וְהוּא בֶּן-שִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-שְׂגֽוּב׃
And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
וַיִּקַּח גְּשֽׁוּר-וַאֲרָם אֶת-חַוֹּת יָאִיר מֵֽאִתָּם אֶת-קְנָת וְאֶת-בְּנֹתֶיהָ שִׁשִּׁים עִיר כָּל-אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי מָכִיר אֲבִי-גִלְעָֽד׃
And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
וְלֹֽא-הָיָה לְשֵׁשָׁן בָּנִים כִּי אִם-בָּנוֹת וּלְשֵׁשָׁן עֶבֶד מִצְרִי וּשְׁמוֹ יַרְחָֽע׃
Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
וַיִּתֵּן שֵׁשָׁן אֶת-בִּתּוֹ לְיַרְחָע עַבְדּוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-עַתָּֽי׃
And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.
וַתֵּלֶד שַׁעַף אֲבִי מַדְמַנָּה אֶת-שְׁוָא אֲבִי מַכְבֵּנָה וַֽאֲבִי גִבְעָא וּבַת-כָּלֵב עַכְסָֽה׃
She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
הַשְּׁלִשִׁי לְאַבְשָׁלוֹם בֶּֽן-מַעֲכָה בַּת-תַּלְמַי מֶלֶךְ גְּשׁוּר הָֽרְבִיעִי אֲדֹֽנִיָּה בֶן-חַגִּֽית׃
The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith:
וְאֵלֶּה נוּלְּדוּ-לוֹ בִּירֽוּשָׁלָיִם שִׁמְעָא וְשׁוֹבָב וְנָתָן וּשְׁלֹמֹה אַרְבָּעָה לְבַת-שׁוּעַ בַּת-עַמִּיאֵֽל׃
And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel:
וְאִשְׁתּוֹ הַיְהֻֽדִיָּה יָֽלְדָה אֶת-יֶרֶד אֲבִי גְדוֹר וְאֶת-חֶבֶר אֲבִי שׂוֹכוֹ וְאֶת-יְקֽוּתִיאֵל אֲבִי זָנוֹחַ וְאֵלֶּה בְּנֵי בִּתְיָה בַת-פַּרְעֹה אֲשֶׁר לָקַח מָֽרֶד׃
And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, which Mered took.
וּלְשִׁמְעִי בָּנִים שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר וּבָנוֹת שֵׁשׁ וּלְאֶחָיו אֵין בָּנִים רַבִּים וְכֹל מִשְׁפַּחְתָּם לֹא הִרְבּוּ עַד-בְּנֵי יְהוּדָֽה׃
And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Judah.
וַיֵּשְׁבוּ בַּגִּלְעָד בַּבָּשָׁן וּבִבְנֹתֶיהָ וּבְכָֽל-מִגְרְשֵׁי שָׁרוֹן עַל-תּֽוֹצְאוֹתָֽם׃
And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
וּמָכִיר לָקַח אִשָּׁה לְחֻפִּים וּלְשֻׁפִּים וְשֵׁם אֲחֹתוֹ מַֽעֲכָה וְשֵׁם הַשֵּׁנִי צְלָפְחָד וַתִּֽהְיֶנָה לִצְלָפְחָד בָּנֽוֹת׃
And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters.
וּבִתּוֹ שֶֽׁאֱרָה וַתִּבֶן אֶת-בֵּית-חוֹרוֹן הַתַּחְתּוֹן וְאֶת-הָֽעֶלְיוֹן וְאֵת אֻזֵּן שֶֽׁאֱרָֽה׃
(And his daughter was Sherah, who built Beth-horon the nether, and the upper, and Uzzen-sherah.)
וַֽאֲחֻזָּתָם וּמֹשְׁבוֹתָם בֵּֽית-אֵל וּבְנֹתֶיהָ וְלַמִּזְרָח נַֽעֲרָן וְלַֽמַּעֲרָב גֶּזֶר וּבְנֹתֶיהָ וּשְׁכֶם וּבְנֹתֶיהָ עַד-עַיָּה וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃
And their possessions and habitations were, Beth-el and the towns thereof, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns thereof; Shechem also and the towns thereof, unto Gaza and the towns thereof:
וְעַל-יְדֵי בְנֵֽי-מְנַשֶּׁה בֵּית-שְׁאָן וּבְנֹתֶיהָ תַּעְנַךְ וּבְנֹתֶיהָ מְגִדּוֹ וּבְנוֹתֶיהָ דּוֹר וּבְנוֹתֶיהָ בְּאֵלֶּה יָֽשְׁבוּ בְּנֵי יוֹסֵף בֶּן-יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Beth-shean and her towns, Taanach and her towns, Megiddo and her towns, Dor and her towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph the son of Israel.
וּבְנֵי אֶלְפַּעַל עֵבֶר וּמִשְׁעָם וָשָׁמֶד הוּא בָּנָה אֶת-אוֹנוֹ וְאֶת-לֹד וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃
The sons of Elpaal; Eber, and Misham, and Shamed, who built Ono, and Lod, with the towns thereof:
וַיִּקַּח דָּוִיד עוֹד נָשִׁים בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וַיּוֹלֶד דָּוִיד עוֹד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
וַיְהִי אֲרוֹן בְּרִית יְהוָה בָּא עַד-עִיר דָּוִיד וּמִיכַל בַּת-שָׁאוּל נִשְׁקְפָה׀ בְּעַד הַֽחַלּוֹן וַתֵּרֶא אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִיד מְרַקֵּד וּמְשַׂחֵק וַתִּבֶז לוֹ בְּלִבָּֽהּ׃
And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
וַֽיְהִי אַֽחֲרֵי-כֵן וַיַּךְ דָּוִיד אֶת-פְּלִשְׁתִּים וַיַּכְנִיעֵם וַיִּקַּח אֶת-גַּת וּבְנֹתֶיהָ מִיַּד פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
וַיָּמָת אֶלְעָזָר וְלֹא-הָיוּ לוֹ בָּנִים כִּי אִם-בָּנוֹת וַיִּשָּׂאוּם בְּנֵי-קִישׁ אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃
And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
כָּל-אֵלֶּה בָנִים לְהֵימָן חֹזֵה הַמֶּלֶךְ בְּדִבְרֵי הָֽאֱלֹהִים לְהָרִים קָרֶן וַיִּתֵּן הָֽאֱלֹהִים לְהֵימָן בָּנִים אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר וּבָנוֹת שָׁלֽוֹשׁ׃
All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
בֶּן-אִשָּׁה מִן-בְּנוֹת דָּן וְאָבִיו אִישׁ-צֹרִי יוֹדֵעַ לַֽעֲשׂוֹת בַּזָּֽהָב-וּבַכֶּסֶף בַּנְּחֹשֶׁת בַּבַּרְזֶל בָּֽאֲבָנִים וּבָֽעֵצִים בָּֽאַרְגָּמָן בַּתְּכֵלֶת וּבַבּוּץ וּבַכַּרְמִיל וּלְפַתֵּחַ כָּל-פִּתּוּחַ וְלַחְשֹׁב כָּל-מַֽחֲשָׁבֶת אֲשֶׁר יִנָּֽתֶן-לוֹ עִם-חֲכָמֶיךָ וְֽחַכְמֵי אֲדֹנִי דָּוִיד אָבִֽיךָ׃
The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.
וְאֶת-בַּת-פַּרְעֹה הֶֽעֱלָה שְׁלֹמֹה מֵעִיר דָּוִיד לַבַּיִת אֲשֶׁר בָּֽנָה-לָהּ כִּי אָמַר לֹֽא-תֵשֵׁב אִשָּׁה לִי בְּבֵית דָּוִיד מֶֽלֶךְ-יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּֽי-קֹדֶשׁ הֵמָּה אֲשֶׁר-בָּֽאָה אֲלֵיהֶם אֲרוֹן יְהוָֽה׃
And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.
וַיִּֽקַּֽח-לוֹ רְחַבְעָם אִשָּׁה אֶת-מָחֲלַת (בן) בַּת-יְרִימוֹת בֶּן-דָּוִיד אֲבִיהַיִל בַּת-אֱלִיאָב בֶּן-יִשָֽׁי׃
And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
וְאַֽחֲרֶיהָ לָקַח אֶֽת-מַעֲכָה בַּת-אַבְשָׁלוֹם וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-אֲבִיָּה וְאֶת-עַתַּי וְאֶת-זִיזָא וְאֶת-שְׁלֹמִֽית׃
And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
וַיֶּֽאֱהַב רְחַבְעָם אֶת-מַֽעֲכָה בַת-אַבְשָׁלוֹם מִכָּל-נָשָׁיו וּפִילַגְשָׁיו כִּי נָשִׁים שְׁמוֹנֶֽה-עֶשְׂרֵה נָשָׂא וּפִֽילַגְשִׁים שִׁשִּׁים וַיּוֹלֶד עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁמוֹנָה בָּנִים וְשִׁשִּׁים בָּנֽוֹת׃
And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
שָׁלוֹשׁ שָׁנִים מָלַךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִַם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מִֽיכָיָהוּ בַת-אֽוּרִיאֵל מִן-גִּבְעָה וּמִלְחָמָה הָֽיְתָה בֵּין אֲבִיָּה וּבֵין יָֽרָבְעָֽם׃
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
וַיִּרְדֹּף אֲבִיָּה אַֽחֲרֵי יָֽרָבְעָם וַיִּלְכֹּד מִמֶּנּוּ עָרִים אֶת-בֵּֽית-אֵל וְאֶת-בְּנוֹתֶיהָ וְאֶת-יְשָׁנָה וְאֶת-בְּנוֹתֶיהָ וְאֶת-(עפרון) עֶפְרַיִן וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃
And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth-el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
וַיִּתְחַזֵּק אֲבִיָּהוּ וַיִּשָּׂא-לוֹ נָשִׁים אַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה וַיּוֹלֶד עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁנַיִם בָּנִים וְשֵׁשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה בָּנֽוֹת׃
But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
וַיִּמְלֹךְ יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט עַל-יְהוּדָה בֶּן-שְׁלֹשִׁים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה בְּמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲזוּבָה בַּת-שִׁלְחִֽי׃
And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
