וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-אָבִיו רֹאשִׁי׀ רֹאשִׁי וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-הַנַּעַר שָׂאֵהוּ אֶל-אִמּֽוֹ׃
And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
וַיִּשָּׂאֵהוּ וַיְבִיאֵהוּ אֶל-אִמּוֹ וַיֵּשֶׁב עַל-בִּרְכֶּיהָ עַד-הַֽצָּהֳרַיִם וַיָּמֹֽת׃
And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
וַתֹּאמֶר אֵם הַנַּעַר חַי-יְהוָה וְחֵֽי-נַפְשְׁךָ אִם-אֶֽעֶזְבֶךָּ וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ אַֽחֲרֶֽיהָ׃
And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה אֲחַזְיָהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְשָׁנָה אַחַת מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲתַלְיָהוּ בַּת-עָמְרִי מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
וַיְהִי כִּרְאוֹת יְהוֹרָם אֶת-יֵהוּא וַיֹּאמֶר הֲשָׁלוֹם יֵהוּא וַיֹּאמֶר מָה הַשָּׁלוֹם עַד-זְנוּנֵי אִיזֶבֶל אִמְּךָ וּכְשָׁפֶיהָ הָֽרַבִּֽים׃
And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
וַֽעֲתַלְיָה אֵם אֲחַזְיָהוּ (וראתה) רָאֲתָה כִּי מֵת בְּנָהּ וַתָּקָם וַתְּאַבֵּד אֵת כָּל-זֶרַע הַמַּמְלָכָֽה׃
And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
בִּשְׁנַת-שֶׁבַע לְיֵהוּא מָלַךְ יְהוֹאָשׁ וְאַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ צִבְיָה מִבְּאֵר שָֽׁבַע׃
In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וָתֵשַׁע שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (יהועדין) יְהֽוֹעַדָּן מִן-יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
בֶּן-שֵׁשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וַֽחֲמִשִּׁים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְכָלְיָהוּ מִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וְשֵׁשׁ-עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְרוּשָׁא בַּת-צָדֽוֹק׃
Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וָתֵשַׁע שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ אֲבִי בַּת-זְכַרְיָֽה׃
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
בֶּן-שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מְנַשֶּׁה בְמָלְכוֹ וַֽחֲמִשִּׁים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ חֶפְצִי-בָֽהּ׃
Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzibah.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה אָמוֹן בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנִים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מְשֻׁלֶּמֶת בַּת-חָרוּץ מִן-יָטְבָֽה׃
Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
בֶּן-שְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנָה יֹֽאשִׁיָּהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְדִידָה בַת-עֲדָיָה מִבָּֽצְקַֽת׃
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְשָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹאָחָז בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ חֲמוּטַל בַּֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹיָקִים בְּמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (זבידה) זְבוּדָּה בַת-פְּדָיָה מִן-רוּמָֽה׃
Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
בֶּן-שְׁמֹנֶה עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה יְהֽוֹיָכִין בְּמָלְכוֹ וּשְׁלֹשָׁה חֳדָשִׁים מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ נְחֻשְׁתָּא בַת-אֶלְנָתָן מִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
וַיֵּצֵא יְהֽוֹיָכִין מֶֽלֶךְ-יְהוּדָה עַל-מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל הוּא וְאִמּוֹ וַֽעֲבָדָיו וְשָׂרָיו וְסָֽרִיסָיו וַיִּקַּח אֹתוֹ מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל בִּשְׁנַת שְׁמֹנֶה לְמָלְכֽוֹ׃
And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
וַיֶּגֶל אֶת-יְהֽוֹיָכִין בָּבֶלָה וְאֶת-אֵם הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאֶת-נְשֵׁי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאֶת-סָֽרִיסָיו וְאֵת (אולי) אֵילֵי הָאָרֶץ הוֹלִיךְ גּוֹלָה מִירֽוּשָׁלִַם בָּבֶֽלָה׃
And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה צִדְקִיָּהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (חמיטל) חֲמוּטַל בַּֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
וַתְּהִי אִשָּׁה אַחֶרֶת לִֽירַחְמְאֵל וּשְׁמָהּ עֲטָרָה הִיא אֵם אוֹנָֽם׃
Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
וַיְהִי יַעְבֵּץ נִכְבָּד מֵֽאֶחָיו וְאִמּוֹ קָֽרְאָה שְׁמוֹ יַעְבֵּץ לֵאמֹר כִּי יָלַדְתִּי בְּעֹֽצֶב׃
And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
וַיִּתְחַזֵּק הַמֶּלֶךְ רְחַבְעָם בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַם וַיִּמְלֹךְ כִּי בֶן-אַרְבָּעִים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה רְחַבְעָם בְּמָלְכוֹ וּֽשֲׁבַע עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה׀ מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר-בָּחַר יְהוָה לָשׂוּם אֶת-שְׁמוֹ שָׁם מִכֹּל שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ נַֽעֲמָה הָֽעַמֹּנִֽית׃
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
שָׁלוֹשׁ שָׁנִים מָלַךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִַם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ מִֽיכָיָהוּ בַת-אֽוּרִיאֵל מִן-גִּבְעָה וּמִלְחָמָה הָֽיְתָה בֵּין אֲבִיָּה וּבֵין יָֽרָבְעָֽם׃
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
וְגַֽם-מַעֲכָה אֵם׀ אָסָא הַמֶּלֶךְ הֱסִירָהּ מִגְּבִירָה אֲשֶׁר-עָֽשְׂתָה לָאֲשֵׁרָה מִפְלָצֶת וַיִּכְרֹת אָסָא אֶת-מִפְלַצְתָּהּ וַיָּדֶק וַיִּשְׂרֹף בְּנַחַל קִדְרֽוֹן׃
And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
וַיִּמְלֹךְ יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט עַל-יְהוּדָה בֶּן-שְׁלֹשִׁים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה בְּמָלְכוֹ וְעֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲזוּבָה בַּת-שִׁלְחִֽי׃
And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
בֶּן-אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁתַּיִם שָׁנָה אֲחַזְיָהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְשָׁנָה אַחַת מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ עֲתַלְיָהוּ בַּת-עָמְרִֽי׃
Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
גַּם-הוּא הָלַךְ בְּדַרְכֵי בֵּית אַחְאָב כִּי אִמּוֹ הָֽיְתָה יֽוֹעַצְתּוֹ לְהַרְשִֽׁיעַ׃
He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counseller to do wickedly.
וַֽעֲתַלְיָהוּ אֵם אֲחַזְיָהוּ רָֽאֲתָה כִּי מֵת בְּנָהּ וַתָּקָם וַתְּדַבֵּר אֶת-כָּל-זֶרַע הַמַּמְלָכָה לְבֵית יְהוּדָֽה׃

יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ מָלַךְ בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה וְעֶשְׂרִים וָתֵשַׁע שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ אֲבִיָּה בַּת-זְכַרְיָֽהוּ׃
Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
וַיְהִי אֹמֵן אֶת-הֲדַסָּה הִיא אֶסְתֵּר בַּת-דֹּדוֹ כִּי אֵין לָהּ אָב וָאֵם וְהַנַּֽעֲרָה יְפַת-תֹּאַר וְטוֹבַת מַרְאֶה וּבְמוֹת אָבִיהָ וְאִמָּהּ לְקָחָהּ מָרְדֳּכַי לוֹ לְבַֽת׃
And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.
וַיֹּאמֶר עָרֹם (יצתי) יָצָאתִי מִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי וְעָרֹם אָשׁוּב שָׁמָה יְהוָה נָתַן וַֽיהוָה לָקָח יְהִי שֵׁם יְהוָה מְבֹרָֽךְ׃
And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
לַשַּׁחַת קָרָאתִי אָבִי אָתָּה אִמִּי וַאֲחֹתִי לָֽרִמָּֽה׃
I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
כִּי מִנְּעוּרַי גְּדֵלַנִי כְאָב וּמִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי אַנְחֶֽנָּה׃
(For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)
כִּֽי-אַתָּה גֹחִי מִבָּטֶן מַבְטִיחִי עַל-שְׁדֵי אִמִּֽי׃
But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
עָלֶיךָ הָשְׁלַכְתִּי מֵרָחֶם מִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי אֵלִי אָֽתָּה׃
I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
הֵן-בְּעָווֹן חוֹלָלְתִּי וּבְחֵטְא יֶֽחֱמַתְנִי אִמִּֽי׃
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
מוּזָר הָיִיתִי לְאֶחָי וְנָכְרִי לִבְנֵי אִמִּֽי׃
I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.
עָלֶיךָ׀ נִסְמַכְתִּי מִבֶּטֶן מִמְּעֵי אִמִּי אַתָּה גוֹזִי בְּךָ תְהִלָּתִי תָמִֽיד׃
By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

עַיִן׀ תִּֽלְעַג לְאָב וְתָבֻז לִֽיקְּהַת-אֵם יִקְּרוּהָ עֹרְבֵי-נַחַל וְֽיֹאכְלוּהָ בְנֵי-נָֽשֶׁר׃
The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
דִּבְרֵי לְמוּאֵל מֶלֶךְ מַשָּׂא אֲֽשֶׁר-יִסְּרַתּוּ אִמּֽוֹ׃
The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
כַּאֲשֶׁר יָצָא מִבֶּטֶן אִמּוֹ עָרוֹם יָשׁוּב לָלֶכֶת כְּשֶׁבָּא וּמְאוּמָה לֹא-יִשָּׂא בַעֲמָלוֹ שֶׁיֹּלֵךְ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
אַל-תִּרְאוּנִי שֶׁאֲנִי שְׁחַרְחֹרֶת שֶׁשֱּׁזָפַתְנִי הַשָּׁמֶשׁ בְּנֵי אִמִּי נִֽחֲרוּ-בִי שָׂמֻנִי נֹטֵרָה אֶת-הַכְּרָמִים כַּרְמִי שֶׁלִּי לֹא נָטָֽרְתִּי׃
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
כִּמְעַט שֶׁעָבַרְתִּי מֵהֶם עַד שֶֽׁמָּצָאתִי אֵת שֶׁאָהֲבָה נַפְשִׁי אֲחַזְתִּיו וְלֹא אַרְפֶּנּוּ עַד-שֶׁהֲבֵיאתִיו אֶל-בֵּית אִמִּי וְאֶל-חֶדֶר הוֹרָתִֽי׃
It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
צְאֶינָה׀ וּֽרְאֶינָה בְּנוֹת צִיּוֹן בַּמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה בָּעֲטָרָה שֶׁעִטְּרָה-לּוֹ אִמּוֹ בְּיוֹם חֲתֻנָּתוֹ וּבְיוֹם שִׂמְחַת לִבּֽוֹ׃
Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
אַחַת הִיא יוֹנָתִי תַמָּתִי אַחַת הִיא לְאִמָּהּ בָּרָה הִיא לְיֽוֹלַדְתָּהּ רָאוּהָ בָנוֹת וַֽיְאַשְּׁרוּהָ מְלָכוֹת וּפִֽילַגְשִׁים וַֽיְהַלְלֽוּהָ׃
My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.
מִי יִתֶּנְךָ כְּאָח לִי יוֹנֵק שְׁדֵי אִמִּי אֶֽמְצָאֲךָ בַחוּץ אֶשָּׁקְךָ גַּם לֹא-יָבֻזוּ לִֽי׃
O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
אֶנְהָֽגֲךָ אֲבִֽיאֲךָ אֶל-בֵּית אִמִּי תְּלַמְּדֵנִי אַשְׁקְךָ מִיַּיִן הָרֶקַח מֵעֲסִיס רִמֹּנִֽי׃
I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
מִי זֹאת עֹלָה מִן-הַמִּדְבָּר מִתְרַפֶּקֶת עַל-דּוֹדָהּ תַּחַת הַתַּפּוּחַ עֽוֹרַרְתִּיךָ שָׁמָּה חִבְּלַתְךָ אִמֶּךָ שָׁמָּה חִבְּלָה יְלָדַֽתְךָ׃
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee.
כִּי בְּטֶרֶם יֵדַע הַנַּעַר קְרֹא אָבִי וְאִמִּי יִשָּׂא׀ אֶת-חֵיל דַּמֶּשֶׂק וְאֵת שְׁלַל שֹׁמְרוֹן לִפְנֵי מֶלֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃
For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
שִׁמְעוּ אִיִּים אֵלַי וְהַקְשִׁיבוּ לְאֻמִּים מֵרָחוֹק יְהוָה מִבֶּטֶן קְרָאָנִי מִמְּעֵי אִמִּי הִזְכִּיר שְׁמִֽי׃
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
כֹּה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה אֵי זֶה סֵפֶר כְּרִיתוּת אִמְּכֶם אֲשֶׁר שִׁלַּחְתִּיהָ אוֹ מִי מִנּוֹשַׁי אֲשֶׁר-מָכַרְתִּי אֶתְכֶם לוֹ הֵן בַּעֲוֹנֹֽתֵיכֶם נִמְכַּרְתֶּם וּבְפִשְׁעֵיכֶם שֻׁלְּחָה אִמְּכֶֽם׃
Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
כְּאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אִמּוֹ תְּנַחֲמֶנּוּ כֵּן אָֽנֹכִי אֲנַחֶמְכֶם וּבִירֽוּשָׁלִַם תְּנֻחָֽמוּ׃
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
עָֽצְמוּ-לִי אַלְמְנוֹתָו מֵחוֹל יַמִּים הֵבֵאתִי לָהֶם עַל-אֵם בָּחוּר שֹׁדֵד בַּֽצָּהֳרָיִם הִפַּלְתִּי עָלֶיהָ פִּתְאֹם עִיר וּבֶהָלֽוֹת׃
Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
אֽוֹי-לִי אִמִּי כִּי יְלִדְתִּנִי אִישׁ רִיב וְאִישׁ מָדוֹן לְכָל-הָאָרֶץ לֹֽא-נָשִׁיתִי וְלֹא-נָֽשׁוּ-בִי כֻּלֹּה מְקַלְלַֽונִי׃
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.
כִּי-כֹה׀ אָמַר יְהוָה עַל-הַבָּנִים וְעַל-הַבָּנוֹת הַיִּלּוֹדִים בַּמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה וְעַֽל-אִמֹּתָם הַיֹּלְדוֹת אוֹתָם וְעַל-אֲבוֹתָם הַמּוֹלִדִים אוֹתָם בָּאָרֶץ הַזֹּֽאת׃
For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
וְלֹֽא-יִפְרְסוּ לָהֶם עַל-אֵבֶל לְנַחֲמוֹ עַל-מֵת וְלֹֽא-יַשְׁקוּ אוֹתָם כּוֹס תַּנְחוּמִים עַל-אָבִיו וְעַל-אִמּֽוֹ׃
Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
אָרוּר הַיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר יֻלַּדְתִּי בּוֹ יוֹם אֲשֶׁר-יְלָדַתְנִי אִמִּי אַל-יְהִי בָרֽוּךְ׃
Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
אֲשֶׁר לֹא-מוֹתְתַנִי מֵרָחֶם וַתְּהִי-לִי אִמִּי קִבְרִי וְרַחְמָהֿ הֲרַת עוֹלָֽם׃
Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
וְהֵֽטַלְתִּי אֹתְךָ וְאֶֽת-אִמְּךָ אֲשֶׁר יְלָדַתְךָ עַל הָאָרֶץ אַחֶרֶת אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-יֻלַּדְתֶּם שָׁם וְשָׁם תָּמֽוּתוּ׃
And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
בּוֹשָׁה אִמְּכֶם מְאֹד חָפְרָה יֽוֹלַדְתְּכֶם הִנֵּה אַחֲרִית גּוֹיִם מִדְבָּר צִיָּה וַעֲרָבָֽה׃
Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
בֶּן-עֶשְׂרִים וְאַחַת שָׁנָה צִדְקִיָּהוּ בְמָלְכוֹ וְאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָם וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ (חמיטל) חֲמוּטַל בַּֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
לְאִמֹּתָם יֹֽאמְרוּ אַיֵּה דָּגָן וָיָיִן בְּהִֽתְעַטְּפָם כֶּֽחָלָל בִּרְחֹבוֹת עִיר בְּהִשְׁתַּפֵּךְ נַפְשָׁם אֶל-חֵיק אִמֹּתָֽם׃
They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.
יְתוֹמִים הָיִינוּ (אין) וְאֵין אָב אִמֹּתֵינוּ כְּאַלְמָנֽוֹת׃
We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לִירוּשָׁלִַם מְכֹרֹתַיִךְ וּמֹלְדֹתַיִךְ מֵאֶרֶץ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי אָבִיךְ הָאֱמֹרִי וְאִמֵּךְ חִתִּֽית׃
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
הִנֵּה כָּל-הַמֹּשֵׁל עָלַיִךְ יִמְשֹׁל לֵאמֹר כְּאִמָּה בִּתָּֽהּ׃
Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
בַּת-אִמֵּךְ אַתְּ גֹּעֶלֶת אִישָׁהּ וּבָנֶיהָ וַאֲחוֹת אֲחוֹתֵךְ אַתְּ אֲשֶׁר גָּֽעֲלוּ אַנְשֵׁיהֶן וּבְנֵיהֶן אִמְּכֶן חִתִּית וַאֲבִיכֶן אֱמֹרִֽי׃
Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
וְאָמַרְתָּ מָה אִמְּךָ לְבִיָּא בֵּין אֲרָיוֹת רָבָצָה בְּתוֹךְ כְּפִרִים רִבְּתָה גוּרֶֽיהָ׃
And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
אִמְּךָ כַגֶּפֶן בְּדָמְךָ עַל-מַיִם שְׁתוּלָה פֹּֽרִיָּה וַֽעֲנֵפָה הָיְתָה מִמַּיִם רַבִּֽים׃
Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.

For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
אָב וָאֵם הֵקַלּוּ בָךְ לַגֵּר עָשׂוּ בַעֹשֶׁק בְּתוֹכֵךְ יָתוֹם וְאַלְמָנָה הוֹנוּ בָֽךְ׃
In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
בֶּן-אָדָם שְׁתַּיִם נָשִׁים בְּנוֹת אֵם-אַחַת הָיֽוּ׃
Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
וְאֶל-מֵת אָדָם לֹא יָבוֹא לְטָמְאָה כִּי אִם-לְאָב וּלְאֵם וּלְבֵן וּלְבַת לְאָח וּלְאָחוֹת אֲשֶֽׁר-לֹא-הָיְתָה לְאִישׁ יִטַּמָּֽאוּ׃
And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.
רִיבוּ בְאִמְּכֶם רִיבוּ כִּֽי-הִיא לֹא אִשְׁתִּי וְאָנֹכִי לֹא אִישָׁהּ וְתָסֵר זְנוּנֶיהָ מִפָּנֶיה וְנַאֲפוּפֶיהָ מִבֵּין שָׁדֶֽיהָ׃
Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

וְכָשַׁלְתָּ הַיּוֹם וְכָשַׁל גַּם-נָבִיא עִמְּךָ לָיְלָה וְדָמִיתִי אִמֶּֽךָ׃
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
וְקָאם שָׁאוֹן בְּעַמֶּךָ וְכָל-מִבְצָרֶיךָ יוּשַּׁד כְּשֹׁד שַֽׁלְמַן בֵּית אַֽרְבֵאל בְּיוֹם מִלְחָמָה אֵם עַל-בָּנִים רֻטָּֽשָׁה׃
Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.
