וַיִּֽקָּהֲלוּ (היהודיים) הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר-בְּשׁוּשָׁן גַּם בְּיוֹם אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וַיַּֽהַרְגוּ בְשׁוּשָׁן שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָֽׁלְחוּ אֶת-יָדָֽם׃
For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
וּשְׁאָר הַיְּהוּדִים אֲשֶׁר בִּמְדִינוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ נִקְהֲלוּ׀ וְעָמֹד עַל-נַפְשָׁם וְנוֹחַ מֵאֹיְבֵיהֶם וְהָרֹג בְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶם חֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים אָלֶף וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָֽׁלְחוּ אֶת-יָדָֽם׃
But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
הֲלֹֽא-(את) אַתָּה שַׂכְתָּ בַֽעֲדוֹ וּבְעַד-בֵּיתוֹ וּבְעַד כָּל-אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ מִסָּבִיב מַֽעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו בֵּרַכְתָּ וּמִקְנֵהוּ פָּרַץ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
וְאוּלָם שְֽׁלַֽח-נָא יָֽדְךָ וְגַע בְּכָל-אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ אִם-לֹא עַל-פָּנֶיךָ יְבָרֲכֶֽךָּ׃
But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הַשָּׂטָן הִנֵּה כָל-אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ בְּיָדֶךָ רַק אֵלָיו אַל-תִּשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ וַיֵּצֵא הַשָּׂטָן מֵעִם פְּנֵי יְהוָֽה׃
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
וּמַלְאָךְ בָּא אֶל-אִיּוֹב וַיֹּאמַר הַבָּקָר הָיוּ חֹֽרְשׁוֹת וְהָֽאֲתֹנוֹת רֹעוֹת עַל-יְדֵיהֶֽם׃
And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
אוּלָם שְֽׁלַֽח-נָא יָֽדְךָ וְגַע אֶל-עַצְמוֹ וְאֶל-בְּשָׂרוֹ אִם-לֹא אֶל-פָּנֶיךָ יְבָרֲכֶֽךָּ׃
But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הַשָּׂטָן הִנּוֹ בְיָדֶךָ אַךְ אֶת-נַפְשׁוֹ שְׁמֹֽר׃
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
הִנֵּה יִסַּרְתָּ רַבִּים וְיָדַיִם רָפוֹת תְּחַזֵּֽק׃
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
מֵפֵר מַחְשְׁבוֹת עֲרוּמִים וְֽלֹא-תַעֲשֶׂינָה יְדֵיהֶם תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
וַיֹּשַׁע מֵחֶרֶב מִפִּיהֶם וּמִיַּד חָזָק אֶבְיֽוֹן׃
But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
כִּי הוּא יַכְאִיב וְיֶחְבָּשׁ יִמְחַץ (וידו) וְיָדָיו תִּרְפֶּֽינָה׃
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
בְּֽרָעָב פָּֽדְךָ מִמָּוֶת וּבְמִלְחָמָה מִידֵי חָֽרֶב׃
In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
וְיֹאֵל אֱלוֹהַּ וִֽידַכְּאֵנִי יַתֵּר יָדוֹ וִֽיבַצְּעֵֽנִי׃
Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
וּמַלְּטוּנִי מִיַּד-צָר וּמִיַּד עָֽרִיצִים תִּפְדּֽוּנִי׃
Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?
אִם-בָּנֶיךָ חָֽטְאוּ-לוֹ וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵם בְּיַד-פִּשְׁעָֽם׃
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
הֶן-אֵל לֹא יִמְאַס-תָּם וְלֹֽא-יַחֲזִיק בְּיַד-מְרֵעִֽים׃
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
אֶרֶץ׀ נִתְּנָה בְֽיַד-רָשָׁע פְּנֵֽי-שֹׁפְטֶיהָ יְכַסֶּה אִם-לֹא אֵפוֹא מִי-הֽוּא׃
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?
לֹא יֵשׁ-בֵּינֵינוּ מוֹכִיחַ יָשֵׁת יָדוֹ עַל-שְׁנֵֽינוּ׃
Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
עַֽל-דַּעְתְּךָ כִּי-לֹא אֶרְשָׁע וְאֵין מִיָּדְךָ מַצִּֽיל׃
Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.
יָדֶיךָ עִצְּבוּנִי וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּנִי יַחַד סָבִיב וַֽתְּבַלְּעֵֽנִי׃
Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.
אִם-אָוֶן בְּיָדְךָ הַרְחִיקֵהוּ וְאַל-תַּשְׁכֵּן בְּאֹהָלֶיךָ עַוְלָֽה׃
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
יִשְׁלָיוּ אֹֽהָלִים׀ לְשֹׁדְדִים וּֽבַטֻּחוֹת לְמַרְגִּיזֵי אֵל לַאֲשֶׁר הֵבִיא אֱלוֹהַּ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
מִי לֹא-יָדַע בְּכָל-אֵלֶּה כִּי יַד-יְהוָה עָשְׂתָה זֹּֽאת׃
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדוֹ נֶפֶשׁ כָּל-חָי וְרוּחַ כָּל-בְּשַׂר-אִֽישׁ׃
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
תִּקְרָא וְאָנֹכִי אֶֽעֱנֶךָּ לְֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ תִכְסֹֽף׃
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
נֹדֵד הוּא לַלֶּחֶם אַיֵּה יָדַע׀ כִּֽי-נָכוֹן בְּיָדוֹ יֽוֹם-חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
כִּֽי-נָטָה אֶל-אֵל יָדוֹ וְאֶל-שַׁדַּי יִתְגַּבָּֽר׃
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
יַסְגִּירֵנִי אֵל אֶל עֲוִיל וְעַל-יְדֵי רְשָׁעִים יִרְטֵֽנִי׃
God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
שִֽׂימָה-נָּא עָרְבֵנִי עִמָּךְ מִֽי הוּא לְיָדִי יִתָּקֵֽעַ׃
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
וְיֹאחֵז צַדִּיק דַּרְכּוֹ וּֽטֳהָר-יָדַיִם יֹסִיף אֹֽמֶץ׃
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
חָנֻּנִי חָנֻּנִי אַתֶּם רֵעָי כִּי יַד-אֱלוֹהַּ נָגְעָה בִּֽי׃
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
בָּנָיו יְרַצּוּ דַלִּים וְיָדָיו תָּשֵׁבְנָה אוֹנֽוֹ׃
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
בִּמְלֹאות שִׂפְקוֹ יֵצֶר לוֹ כָּל-יַד עָמֵל תְּבֹאֶֽנּוּ׃
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
פְּנוּ-אֵלַי וְהָשַׁמּוּ וְשִׂימוּ יָד עַל-פֶּֽה׃
Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
הֵן לֹא בְיָדָם טוּבָם עֲצַת רְשָׁעִים רָחֲקָה מֶֽנִּי׃
Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
גַּם-הַיּוֹם מְרִי שִׂחִי יָדִי כָּבְדָה עַל-אַנְחָתִֽי׃
Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
בְּרוּחוֹ שָׁמַיִם שִׁפְרָה חֹֽלֲלָה יָדוֹ נָחָשׁ בָּרִֽחַ׃
By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
אוֹרֶה אֶתְכֶם בְּיַד-אֵל אֲשֶׁר עִם-שַׁדַּי לֹא אֲכַחֵֽד׃
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
וְיַשְׁלֵךְ עָלָיו וְלֹא יַחְמֹל מִיָּדוֹ בָּרוֹחַ יִבְרָֽח׃
For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
בַּֽחַלָּמִישׁ שָׁלַח יָדוֹ הָפַךְ מִשֹּׁרֶשׁ הָרִֽים׃
He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
כְּבוֹדִי חָדָשׁ עִמָּדִי וְקַשְׁתִּי בְּיָדִי תַחֲלִֽיף׃
My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.
גַּם-כֹּחַ יְדֵיהֶם לָמָּה לִּי עָלֵימוֹ אָבַד כָּֽלַח׃
Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?
תֵּהָפֵךְ לְאַכְזָר לִי בְּעֹצֶם יָדְךָ תִשְׂטְמֵֽנִי׃
Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.
אַךְ לֹא-בְעִי יִשְׁלַח-יָד אִם-בְּפִידוֹ לָהֶן שֽׁוּעַ׃
Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.
אִם-הֲנִיפוֹתִי עַל-יָתוֹם יָדִי כִּֽי-אֶרְאֶה בַשַּׁעַר עֶזְרָתִֽי׃
If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:
אִם-אֶשְׂמַח כִּי-רַב חֵילִי וְכִֽי-כַבִּיר מָצְאָה יָדִֽי׃
If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;
וַיִּפְתְּ בַּסֵּתֶר לִבִּי וַתִּשַּׁק יָדִי לְפִֽי׃
And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-נָשָׂא׀ פְּנֵי שָׂרִים וְלֹא נִכַּר-שׁוֹעַ לִפְנֵי-דָל כִּֽי-מַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו כֻּלָּֽם׃
How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
רֶגַע׀ יָמֻתוּ וַחֲצוֹת לָיְלָה יְגֹעֲשׁוּ עָם וְיַעֲבֹרוּ וְיָסִירוּ אַבִּיר לֹא בְיָֽד׃
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
אִם-צָדַקְתָּ מַה-תִּתֶּן-לוֹ אוֹ מַה-מִיָּדְךָ יִקָּֽח׃
If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
בְּיַד-כָּל-אָדָם יַחְתּוֹם לָדַעַת כָּל-אַנְשֵׁי מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
הֵן קַלֹּתִי מָה אֲשִׁיבֶךָּ יָדִי שַׂמְתִּי לְמוֹ-פִֽי׃
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
תַּמְשִׁילֵהוּ בְּמַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ כֹּל שַׁתָּה תַֽחַת-רַגְלָֽיו׃
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
קוּמָה יְהוָה אֵל נְשָׂא יָדֶךָ אַל-תִּשְׁכַּח (עניים) עֲנָוִֽים׃
Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
רָאִתָה כִּֽי-אַתָּה׀ עָמָל וָכַעַס׀ תַּבִּיט לָתֵת בְּיָדֶךָ עָלֶיךָ יַעֲזֹב חֵלֶכָה יָתוֹם אַתָּה׀ הָיִיתָ עוֹזֵֽר׃
Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
מִֽמְתִים יָדְךָ׀ יְהוָה מִֽמְתִים מֵחֶלֶד חֶלְקָם בַּֽחַיִּים וּֽצְפוּנְךָ תְּמַלֵּא בִטְנָם יִשְׂבְּעוּ בָנִים וְהִנִּיחוּ יִתְרָם לְעוֹלְלֵיהֶֽם׃
From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
יִגְמְלֵנִי יְהוָה כְּצִדְקִי כְּבֹר יָדַי יָשִׁיב לִֽי׃
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
וַיָּֽשֶׁב-יְהוָה לִי כְצִדְקִי כְּבֹר יָדַי לְנֶגֶד עֵינָֽיו׃
Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
מְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַמִּלְחָמָה וְֽנִחֲתָה קֶֽשֶׁת-נְחוּשָׁה זְרוֹעֹתָֽי׃
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
הַשָּׁמַיִם מְֽסַפְּרִים כְּבֽוֹד-אֵל וּֽמַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו מַגִּיד הָרָקִֽיעַ׃
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
תִּמְצָא יָדְךָ לְכָל-אֹיְבֶיךָ יְמִֽינְךָ תִּמְצָא שֹׂנְאֶֽיךָ׃
Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
כִּי סְבָבוּנִי כְּלָבִים עֲדַת מְרֵעִים הִקִּיפוּנִי כָּאֲרִי יָדַי וְרַגְלָֽי׃
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
הַצִּילָה מֵחֶרֶב נַפְשִׁי מִיַּד-כֶּלֶב יְחִידָתִֽי׃
Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
אֲשֶׁר-בִּידֵיהֶם זִמָּה וִֽימִינָם מָלְאָה שֹּֽׁחַד׃
In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
שְׁמַע קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ בְּנָשְׂאִי יָדַי אֶל-דְּבִיר קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃
Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
תֶּן-לָהֶם כְּפָעֳלָם וּכְרֹעַ מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵיהֶם תֵּן לָהֶם הָשֵׁב גְּמוּלָם לָהֶֽם׃
Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
כִּי לֹא יָבִינוּ אֶל-פְּעֻלֹּת יְהוָה וְאֶל-מַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו יֶהֶרְסֵם וְלֹא יִבְנֵֽם׃
Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
בְּיָדְךָ אַפְקִיד רוּחִי פָּדִיתָה אוֹתִי יְהוָה אֵל אֱמֶֽת׃
Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
וְלֹא הִסְגַּרְתַּנִי בְּיַד-אוֹיֵב הֶֽעֱמַדְתָּ בַמֶּרְחָב רַגְלָֽי׃
And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
בְּיָדְךָ עִתֹּתָי הַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד-אוֹיְבַי וּמֵרֹדְפָֽי׃
My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
כִּי׀ יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה תִּכְבַּד עָלַי יָדֶךָ נֶהְפַּךְ לְשַׁדִּי בְּחַרְבֹנֵי קַיִץ סֶֽלָה׃
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
אַל-תְּבוֹאֵנִי רֶגֶל גַּאֲוָה וְיַד-רְשָׁעִים אַל-תְּנִדֵֽנִי׃
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
כִּֽי-יִפֹּל לֹֽא-יוּטָל כִּֽי-יְהוָה סוֹמֵךְ יָדֽוֹ׃
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
יְהוָה לֹא-יַעַזְבֶנּוּ בְיָדוֹ וְלֹא יַרְשִׁיעֶנּוּ בְּהִשָּׁפְטֽוֹ׃
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
כִּֽי-חִצֶּיךָ נִחֲתוּ בִי וַתִּנְחַת עָלַי יָדֶֽךָ׃
For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
הָסֵר מֵעָלַי נִגְעֶךָ מִתִּגְרַת יָדְךָ אֲנִי כָלִֽיתִי׃
Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
אַתָּה׀ יָדְךָ גּוֹיִם הוֹרַשְׁתָּ וַתִּטָּעֵם תָּרַע לְאֻמִּים וַֽתְּשַׁלְּחֵֽם׃
How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
אַךְ-אֱלֹהִים יִפְדֶּה נַפְשִׁי מִֽיַּד-שְׁאוֹל כִּי יִקָּחֵנִי סֶֽלָה׃
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
שָׁלַח יָדָיו בִּשְׁלֹמָיו חִלֵּל בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃
He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
אַף-בְּלֵב עוֹלֹת תִּפְעָלוּן בָּאָרֶץ חֲמַס יְדֵיכֶם תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃
Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
יַגִּירֻהוּ עַל-יְדֵי-חָרֶב מְנָת שֻׁעָלִים יִהְיֽוּ׃
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
יֶאֱתָיוּ חַשְׁמַנִּים מִנִּי מִצְרָיִם כּוּשׁ תָּרִיץ יָדָיו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃
Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.
אֱֽלֹהַי פַּלְּטֵנִי מִיַּד רָשָׁע מִכַּף מְעַוֵּל וְחוֹמֵץ׃
Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
וַאֲנִי תָמִיד עִמָּךְ אָחַזְתָּ בְּיַד-יְמִינִֽי׃
Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
לָמָּה תָשִׁיב יָדְךָ וִֽימִינֶךָ מִקֶּרֶב חֵֽיקְךָ כַלֵּֽה׃
Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.
כִּי כוֹס בְּֽיַד-יְהוָה וְיַיִן חָמַר׀ מָלֵא מֶסֶךְ וַיַּגֵּר מִזֶּה אַךְ-שְׁמָרֶיהָ יִמְצוּ יִשְׁתּוּ כֹּל רִשְׁעֵי-אָֽרֶץ׃
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
אֶשְׁתּוֹלְלוּ׀ אַבִּירֵי לֵב נָמוּ שְׁנָתָם וְלֹא-מָצְאוּ כָל-אַנְשֵׁי-חַיִל יְדֵיהֶֽם׃
The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
בְּיוֹם צָרָתִי אֲדֹנָי דָּרָשְׁתִּי יָדִי׀ לַיְלָה נִגְּרָה וְלֹא תָפוּג מֵאֲנָה הִנָּחֵם נַפְשִֽׁי׃
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
נָחִיתָ כַצֹּאן עַמֶּךָ בְּֽיַד-מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃
Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
לֹא-זָכְרוּ אֶת-יָדוֹ יוֹם אֲֽשֶׁר-פָּדָם מִנִּי-צָֽר׃
They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.
וַיִּתֵּן לַשְּׁבִי עֻזּוֹ וְֽתִפְאַרְתּוֹ בְיַד-צָֽר׃
And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.
תְּֽהִי-יָדְךָ עַל-אִישׁ יְמִינֶךָ עַל-בֶּן-אָדָם אִמַּצְתָּ לָּֽךְ׃
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
כִּמְעַט אוֹיְבֵיהֶם אַכְנִיעַ וְעַל צָרֵיהֶם אָשִׁיב יָדִֽי׃
I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
פַּלְּטוּ-דַל וְאֶבְיוֹן מִיַּד רְשָׁעִים הַצִּֽילוּ׃
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
בַּמֵּתִים חָפְשִׁי כְּמוֹ חֲלָלִים׀ שֹׁכְבֵי קֶבֶר אֲשֶׁר לֹא זְכַרְתָּם עוֹד וְהֵמָּה מִיָּדְךָ נִגְזָֽרוּ׃
Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
לְךָ זְרוֹעַ עִם-גְּבוּרָה תָּעֹז יָדְךָ תָּרוּם יְמִינֶֽךָ׃
Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
אֲשֶׁר יָדִי תִּכּוֹן עִמּוֹ אַף-זְרוֹעִי תְאַמְּצֶֽנּוּ׃
With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
וְשַׂמְתִּי בַיָּם יָדוֹ וּֽבַנְּהָרוֹת יְמִינֽוֹ׃
I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
מִי גֶבֶר יִֽחְיֶה וְלֹא יִרְאֶה-מָּוֶת יְמַלֵּט נַפְשׁוֹ מִיַּד-שְׁאוֹל סֶֽלָה׃
What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
