אֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בִּדְמִי יָמַי אֵלֵכָה בְּשַׁעֲרֵי שְׁאוֹל פֻּקַּדְתִּי יֶתֶר שְׁנוֹתָֽי׃
I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
כִּי לֹא שְׁאוֹל תּוֹדֶךָּ מָוֶת יְהַלְלֶךָּ לֹֽא-יְשַׂבְּרוּ יֽוֹרְדֵי-בוֹר אֶל-אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃
For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
וַיִּתֵּן אֶת-רְשָׁעִים קִבְרוֹ וְאֶת-עָשִׁיר בְּמֹתָיו עַל לֹא-חָמָס עָשָׂה וְלֹא מִרְמָה בְּפִֽיו׃
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
וַתָּשֻׁרִי לַמֶּלֶךְ בַּשֶּׁמֶן וַתַּרְבִּי רִקֻּחָיִךְ וַתְּשַׁלְּחִי צִרַיִךְ עַד-מֵרָחֹק וַתַּשְׁפִּילִי עַד-שְׁאֽוֹל׃
And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.
הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים בַּקְּבָרִים וּבַנְּצוּרִים יָלִינוּ הָאֹֽכְלִים בְּשַׂר הַחֲזִיר (ופרק) וּמְרַק פִּגֻּלִים כְּלֵיהֶֽם׃
Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
אַשְׁפָּתוֹ כְּקֶבֶר פָּתוּחַ כֻּלָּם גִּבּוֹרִֽים׃
Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.
בָּעֵת הַהִיא נְאֻם-יְהוָה (ויציאו) יוֹצִיאוּ אֶת-עַצְמוֹת מַלְכֵֽי-יְהוּדָה וְאֶת-עַצְמוֹת-שָׂרָיו וְאֶת-עַצְמוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְאֵת׀ עַצְמוֹת הַנְּבִיאִים וְאֵת עַצְמוֹת יוֹשְׁבֵֽי-יְרוּשָׁלִָם מִקִּבְרֵיהֶֽם׃
At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
אֲשֶׁר לֹא-מוֹתְתַנִי מֵרָחֶם וַתְּהִי-לִי אִמִּי קִבְרִי וְרַחְמָהֿ הֲרַת עוֹלָֽם׃
Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
וַיּוֹצִיאוּ אֶת-אוּרִיָּהוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם וַיְבִאֻהוּ אֶל-הַמֶּלֶךְ יְהוֹיָקִים וַיַּכֵּהוּ בֶּחָרֶב וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ אֶת-נִבְלָתוֹ אֶל-קִבְרֵי בְּנֵי הָעָֽם׃
And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
כֹּֽה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה בְּיוֹם רִדְתּוֹ שְׁאוֹלָה הֶאֱבַלְתִּי כִּסֵּתִי עָלָיו אֶת-תְּהוֹם וָֽאֶמְנַע נַהֲרוֹתֶיהָ וַיִּכָּלְאוּ מַיִם רַבִּים וָאַקְדִּר עָלָיו לְבָנוֹן וְכָל-עֲצֵי הַשָּׂדֶה עָלָיו עֻלְפֶּֽה׃
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
מִקּוֹל מַפַּלְתּוֹ הִרְעַשְׁתִּי גוֹיִם בְּהוֹרִדִי אֹתוֹ שְׁאוֹלָה אֶת-יוֹרְדֵי בוֹר וַיִּנָּחֲמוּ בְּאֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּית כָּל-עֲצֵי-עֵדֶן מִבְחַר וְטוֹב-לְבָנוֹן כָּל-שֹׁתֵי מָֽיִם׃
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
גַּם-הֵם אִתּוֹ יָרְדוּ שְׁאוֹלָה אֶל-חַלְלֵי-חָרֶב וּזְרֹעוֹ יָשְׁבוּ בְצִלּוֹ בְּתוֹךְ גּוֹיִֽם׃
They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
יְדַבְּרוּ-לוֹ אֵלֵי גִבּוֹרִים מִתּוֹךְ שְׁאוֹל אֶת-עֹֽזְרָיו יָֽרְדוּ שָׁכְבוּ הָעֲרֵלִים חַלְלֵי-חָֽרֶב׃
The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
שָׁם אַשּׁוּר וְכָל-קְהָלָהּ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו קִבְרֹתָיו כֻּלָּם חֲלָלִים הַנֹּפְלִים בֶּחָֽרֶב׃
Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:
אֲשֶׁר נִתְּנוּ קִבְרֹתֶיהָ בְּיַרְכְּתֵי-בוֹר וַיְהִי קְהָלָהּ סְבִיבוֹת קְבֻרָתָהּ כֻּלָּם חֲלָלִים נֹפְלִים בַּחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר-נָתְנוּ חִתִּית בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּֽים׃
Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.
בְּתוֹךְ חֲלָלִים נָתְנוּ מִשְׁכָּב לָהּ בְּכָל-הֲמוֹנָהּ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו קִבְרֹתֶהָ כֻּלָּם עֲרֵלִים חַלְלֵי-חֶרֶב כִּֽי-נִתַּן חִתִּיתָם בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּים וַיִּשְׂאוּ כְלִמָּתָם אֶת-יוֹרְדֵי בוֹר בְּתוֹךְ חֲלָלִים נִתָּֽן׃
They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
שָׁם מֶשֶׁךְ תֻּבַל וְכָל-הֲמוֹנָהּ סְבִֽיבוֹתָיו קִבְרוֹתֶיהָ כֻּלָּם עֲרֵלִים מְחֻלְלֵי חֶרֶב כִּֽי-נָתְנוּ חִתִּיתָם בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּֽים׃
There is Meshech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
וְלֹא יִשְׁכְּבוּ אֶת-גִּבּוֹרִים נֹפְלִים מֵעֲרֵלִים אֲשֶׁר יָרְדֽוּ-שְׁאוֹל בִּכְלֵֽי-מִלְחַמְתָּם וַיִּתְּנוּ אֶת-חַרְבוֹתָם תַּחַת רָאשֵׁיהֶם וַתְּהִי עֲוֹֽנֹתָם עַל-עַצְמוֹתָם כִּֽי-חִתִּית גִּבּוֹרִים בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּֽים׃
And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
לָכֵן הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּֽה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנֵּה אֲנִי פֹתֵחַ אֶת-קִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶם וְהַעֲלֵיתִי אֶתְכֶם מִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶם עַמִּי וְהֵבֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם אֶל-אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
וִֽידַעְתֶּם כִּֽי-אֲנִי יְהוָה בְּפִתְחִי אֶת-קִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶם וּבְהַעֲלוֹתִי אֶתְכֶם מִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶם עַמִּֽי׃
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
וְהָיָה בַיּוֹם הַהוּא אֶתֵּן לְגוֹג׀ מְקֽוֹם-שָׁם קֶבֶר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל גֵּי הָעֹֽבְרִים קִדְמַת הַיָּם וְחֹסֶמֶת הִיא אֶת-הָעֹֽבְרִים וְקָבְרוּ שָׁם אֶת-גּוֹג וְאֶת-כָּל-הֲמוֹנֹה וְקָרְאוּ גֵּיא הֲמוֹן גּֽוֹג׃
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog.
מִיַּד שְׁאוֹל אֶפְדֵּם מִמָּוֶת אֶגְאָלֵם אֱהִי דְבָרֶיךָ מָוֶת אֱהִי קָֽטָבְךָ שְׁאוֹל נֹחַם יִסָּתֵר מֵעֵינָֽי׃
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
אִם-יַחְתְּרוּ בִשְׁאוֹל מִשָּׁם יָדִי תִקָּחֵם וְאִֽם-יַעֲלוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם מִשָּׁם אוֹרִידֵֽם׃
Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
וַיֹּאמֶר קָרָאתִי מִצָּרָה לִי אֶל-יְהוָה וַֽיַּעֲנֵנִי מִבֶּטֶן שְׁאוֹל שִׁוַּעְתִּי שָׁמַעְתָּ קוֹלִֽי׃
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
וְצִוָּה עָלֶיךָ יְהוָה לֹֽא-יִזָּרַע מִשִּׁמְךָ עוֹד מִבֵּית אֱלֹהֶיךָ אַכְרִית פֶּסֶל וּמַסֵּכָה אָשִׂים קִבְרֶךָ כִּי קַלּֽוֹתָ׃
And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
וְאַף כִּֽי-הַיַּיִן בּוֹגֵד גֶּבֶר יָהִיר וְלֹא יִנְוֶה אֲשֶׁר הִרְחִיב כִּשְׁאוֹל נַפְשׁוֹ וְהוּא כַמָּוֶת וְלֹא יִשְׂבָּע וַיֶּאֱסֹף אֵלָיו כָּל-הַגּוֹיִם וַיִּקְבֹּץ אֵלָיו כָּל-הָעַמִּֽים׃
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
