ταύτας οὖν ἔχοντες τὰς ἐπαγγελίας ἀγαπητοί καθαρίσωμεν ἑαυτοὺς ἀπὸ παντὸς μολυσμοῦ σαρκὸς καὶ πνεύματος ἐπιτελοῦντες ἁγιωσύνην ἐν φόβῳ θεοῦ
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
אַשְֽׁרֵי הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר׀ לֹא הָלַךְ בַּעֲצַת רְשָׁעִים וּבְדֶרֶךְ חַטָּאִים לֹא עָמָד וּבְמוֹשַׁב לֵצִים לֹא יָשָֽׁב׃
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
וְעַתָּה תְּנוּ תוֹדָה לַֽיהוָה אֱלֹהֵֽי-אֲבֹתֵיכֶם וַֽעֲשׂוּ רְצוֹנוֹ וְהִבָּֽדְלוּ מֵֽעַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ וּמִן-הַנָּשִׁים הַנָּכְרִיּֽוֹת׃
Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל-הָֽעֵדָה לֵאמֹר סוּרוּ נָא מֵעַל אָֽהֳלֵי הָֽאֲנָשִׁים הָֽרְשָׁעִים הָאֵלֶּה וְאַֽל-תִּגְּעוּ בְּכָל-אֲשֶׁר לָהֶם פֶּן-תִּסָּפוּ בְּכָל-חַטֹּאתָֽם׃
And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
עִזְבוּ פְתָאיִם וִֽחְיוּ וְאִשְׁרוּ בְּדֶרֶךְ בִּינָֽה׃
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
ἑτέροις τε λόγοις πλείοσιν διεμαρτύρετο καὶ παρεκάλει λέγων Σώθητε ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς τῆς σκολιᾶς ταύτης
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
נֻסוּ׀ מִתּוֹךְ בָּבֶל וּמַלְּטוּ אִישׁ נַפְשׁוֹ אַל-תִּדַּמּוּ בַּעֲוֺנָהּ כִּי עֵת נְקָמָה הִיא לַֽיהוָה גְּמוּל הוּא מְשַׁלֵּם לָֽהּ׃
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
Πᾶν ὃ δίδωσίν μοι ὁ πατὴρ πρὸς ἐμὲ ἥξει καὶ τὸν ἐρχόμενον πρός με οὐ μὴ ἐκβάλω ἔξω
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
הִבָּדְלוּ מִתּוֹךְ הָֽעֵדָה הַזֹּאת וַאֲכַלֶּה אֹתָם כְּרָֽגַע׃
Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ בְנֵֽי-יִשְׂרָאֵל הַשָּׁבִים מֵֽהַגּוֹלָה וְכֹל הַנִּבְדָּל מִטֻּמְאַת גּוֹיֵֽ-הָאָרֶץ אֲלֵהֶם לִדְרֹשׁ לַֽיהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,
הֵרֹמּוּ מִתּוֹךְ הָֽעֵדָה הַזֹּאת וַֽאֲכַלֶּה אֹתָם כְּרָגַע וַֽיִּפְּלוּ עַל-פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃
Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
Διὸ προσλαμβάνεσθε ἀλλήλους καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς προσελάβετο ἡμᾶς εἰς δόξαν θεοῦ
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
