Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
אֲנִי יְהוָה קְרָאתִיךָֽ בְצֶדֶק וְאַחְזֵק בְּיָדֶךָ וְאֶצָּרְךָ וְאֶתֶּנְךָ לִבְרִית עָם לְאוֹר גּוֹיִֽם׃
I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
διὸ λέγει Ἔγειραι ὁ καθεύδων καὶ ἀνάστα ἐκ τῶν νεκρῶν καὶ ἐπιφαύσει σοι ὁ Χριστός
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ thee shall give light.
ὃς ἐῤῥύσατο ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ σκότους καὶ μετέστησεν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ υἱοῦ τῆς ἀγάπης αὐτοῦ
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
καὶ ἐκράτησεν τὸν δράκοντα τὸν ὄφιν τὸν ἀρχαῖον ὅς ἐστιν Διάβολος καὶ Σατανᾶς καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν χίλια ἔτη
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
ὑπέρογκα γὰρ ματαιότητος φθεγγόμενοι δελεάζουσιν ἐν ἐπιθυμίαις σαρκὸς ἀσελγείαις τοὺς ὄντως ἀποφύγοντας τοὺς ἐν πλάνῃ ἀναστρεφομένους
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הַשָּׂטָן הִנֵּה כָל-אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ בְּיָדֶךָ רַק אֵלָיו אַל-תִּשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ וַיֵּצֵא הַשָּׂטָן מֵעִם פְּנֵי יְהוָֽה׃
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
ἐκνήψατε δικαίως καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε ἀγνωσίαν γὰρ θεοῦ τινες ἔχουσιν πρὸς ἐντροπὴν ὑμῖν λέγω
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
ἀνοῖξαι ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι ἀπὸ σκότους εἰς φῶς καὶ τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ Σατανᾶ ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν τοῦ λαβεῖν αὐτοὺς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν καὶ κλῆρον ἐν τοῖς ἡγιασμένοις πίστει τῇ εἰς ἐμέ
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
ὧν ἐστιν Ὑμέναιος καὶ Ἀλέξανδρος οὓς παρέδωκα τῷ Σατανᾷ ἵνα παιδευθῶσιν μὴ βλασφημεῖν
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
ὅταν ὁ ἰσχυρὸς καθωπλισμένος φυλάσσῃ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ αὐλήν ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἐστὶν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ·
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
καὶ μετὰ τὸ ψωμίον τότε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς ἐκεῖνον ὁ Σατανᾶς λέγει οὖν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ὃ ποιεῖς ποίησον τάχιον
And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
