But Peter rehearsed from the beginning, the matter and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

מַֽעֲנֶה-רַּךְ יָשִׁיב חֵמָה וּדְבַר-עֶצֶב יַעֲלֶה-אָֽף׃
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
παραγενόμενοι δὲ καὶ συναγαγόντες τὴν ἐκκλησίαν ἀνήγγειλάν ὅσα ἐποίησεν ὁ θεὸς μετ' αὐτῶν καὶ ὅτι ἤνοιξεν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν θύραν πίστεως
And when they were come, and had gathered together, the church they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
