Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה הַשָּׁמַיִם כִּסְאִי וְהָאָרֶץ הֲדֹם רַגְלָי אֵי-זֶה בַיִת אֲשֶׁר תִּבְנוּ-לִי וְאֵי-זֶה מָקוֹם מְנוּחָתִֽי׃
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
כִּי הַֽאֻמְנָם יֵשֵׁב אֱלֹהִים אֶת-הָֽאָדָם עַל-הָאָרֶץ הִנֵּה שָׁמַיִם וּשְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם לֹא יְכַלְכְּלוּךָ אַף כִּֽי-הַבַּיִת הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר בָּנִֽיתִי׃
But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι απέκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις·
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?
ὑμεῖς προσκυνεῖτε ὃ οὐκ οἴδατε· ἡμεῖς προσκυνοῦμεν ὃ οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἡ σωτηρία ἐκ τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἐστίν
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל חִזְקִיָּהוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיֹּאמַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרֻבִים אַתָּה-הוּא הָֽאֱלֹהִים לְבַדְּךָ לְכֹל מַמְלְכוֹת הָאָרֶץ אַתָּה עָשִׂיתָ אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת-הָאָֽרֶץ׃
And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
Ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἠγαλλιάσατο τῷ πνεύματι ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι ἀπέκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις· ναί ὁ πατήρ ὅτι οὕτως ἐγένετο εὐδοκία ἔμπροσθέν σου
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
ἐποίησέν τε ἐξ ἑνὸς αἵματός πᾶν ἔθνος ἀνθρώπων κατοικεῖν ἐπὶ πᾶν τὸ προσώπον τῆς γῆς ὁρίσας προτεταγμένους καιροὺς καὶ τὰς ὁροθεσίας τῆς κατοικίας αὐτῶν
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
לַֽיהוָה הָאָרֶץ וּמְלוֹאָהּ תֵּבֵל וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃
The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
אִם-יִסָּתֵר אִישׁ בַּמִּסְתָּרִים וַאֲנִי לֹֽא-אֶרְאֶנּוּ נְאֻם-יְהוָה הֲלוֹא אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת-הָאָרֶץ אֲנִי מָלֵא נְאֻם-יְהוָֽה׃
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
πᾶς γὰρ οἶκος κατασκευάζεται ὑπό τινος ὁ δὲ τὰ πάντα κατασκευάσας θεός
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
