Then Peter and and the other apostles answered said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
וַתִּירֶאןָ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים וְלֹא עָשׂוּ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶן מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם וַתְּחַיֶּיןָ אֶת-הַיְלָדִֽים׃
But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.
τοῦτο γὰρ καλὸν καὶ ἀπόδεκτον ἐνώπιον τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
וַיֹּאמֶר מִיכָיְהוּ חַי-יְהוָה כִּי אֶת-אֲשֶׁר יֹאמַר יְהוָה אֵלַי אֹתוֹ אֲדַבֵּֽר׃
And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
μὴ κρίνετε κατ' ὄψιν ἀλλὰ τὴν δικαίαν κρίσιν κρίνατε
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
וְיִתֵּן אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּגְלַל חַטֹּאות יָֽרָבְעָם אֲשֶׁר חָטָא וַֽאֲשֶׁר הֶֽחֱטִיא אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And he shall give up Israel because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.
וְדָנִיֵּאל כְּדִי יְדַע דִּֽי-רְשִׁים כְּתָבָא עַל לְבַיְתֵהּ וְכַוִּין פְּתִיחָן לֵהּ בְּעִלִּיתֵהּ נֶגֶד יְרוּשְׁלֶם וְזִמְנִין תְּלָתָה בְיוֹמָא הוּא׀ בָּרֵךְ עַל-בִּרְכוֹהִי וּמְצַלֵּא וּמוֹדֵא קֳדָם אֱלָהֵהּ כָּל-קֳבֵל דִּֽי-הֲוָא עָבֵד מִן-קַדְמַת דְּנָֽה׃
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
וּכְחֶזְקָתוֹ גָּבַהּ לִבּוֹ עַד-לְהַשְׁחִית וַיִּמְעַל בַּֽיהוָה אֱלֹהָיו וַיָּבֹא אֶל-הֵיכַל יְהוָה לְהַקְטִיר עַל-מִזְבַּח הַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ אַנְשֵׁי עִירוֹ הַזְּקֵנִים וְהַֽחֹרִים אֲשֶׁר הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים בְּעִירוֹ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר שָֽׁלְחָה אֲלֵיהֶם אִיזָבֶל כַּֽאֲשֶׁר כָּתוּב בַּסְּפָרִים אֲשֶׁר שָֽׁלְחָה אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to inquire by.
וְעַתָּה שְׁמַע דְּבַר-יְהוָה אַתָּה אֹמֵר לֹא תִנָּבֵא עַל-יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא תַטִּיף עַל-בֵּית יִשְׂחָֽק׃
Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
הַֽאֻמְנָם אֵלֶם צֶדֶק תְּדַבֵּרוּן מֵישָׁרִים תִּשְׁפְּטוּ בְּנֵי אָדָֽם׃
Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
וַיְהִי הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לְחַטָּאת וַיֵּֽלְכוּ הָעָם לִפְנֵי הָֽאֶחָד עַד-דָּֽן׃
And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Καίσαρος τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
עָשׁוּק אֶפְרַיִם רְצוּץ מִשְׁפָּט כִּי הוֹאִיל הָלַךְ אַחֲרֵי-צָֽו׃
Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
וְהֵן לָא יְדִיעַ לֶהֱוֵא-לָךְ מַלְכָּא דִּי לֵֽאלָהָיִךְ לָא-אִיתַינָא פָֽלְחִין וּלְצֶלֶם דַּהֲבָא דִּי הֲקֵימְתָּ לָא נִסְגֻּֽד׃
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
ἀλλ' ἀπειπάμεθα τὰ κρυπτὰ τῆς αἰσχύνης μὴ περιπατοῦντες ἐν πανουργίᾳ μηδὲ δολοῦντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀλλὰ τῇ φανερώσει τῆς ἀληθείας συνιστώντες ἑαυτοὺς πρὸς πᾶσαν συνείδησιν ἀνθρώπων ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling deceitfully; the word of God by but manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Τὰ τέκνα ὑπακούετε τοῖς γονεῦσιν ὑμῶν ἐν κυρίῳ· τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν δίκαιον
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Καὶ τρίτος ἄγγελος ἠκολούθησεν αὐτοῖς λέγων ἐν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ Εἴ τις τὸ θηρίον προσκυνεῖ καὶ τὴν εἰκόνα αὐτοῦ καὶ λαμβάνει χάραγμα ἐπὶ τοῦ μετώπου αὐτοῦ ἢ ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
