And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
καὶ πολλοὶ ἐξακολουθήσουσιν αὐτῶν ταῖς ἀπωλείαις δι' οὓς ἡ ὁδὸς τῆς ἀληθείας βλασφημηθήσεται
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
καὶ εἶδον μίαν τῶν κεφαλῶν αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐσφαγμένην εἰς θάνατον καὶ ἡ πληγὴ τοῦ θανάτου αὐτοῦ ἐθεραπεύθη καὶ ἐθαυμάσθη ἐν ὅλη τῇ γῆ ὀπίσω τοῦ θηρίου
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
οἵ δὲ ὄχλοι ἰδόντες ὃ ἐποίησεν ὃ Παῦλος ἐπῆραν τὴν φωνὴν αὐτῶν Λυκαονιστὶ λέγοντες Οἱ θεοὶ ὁμοιωθέντες ἀνθρώποις κατέβησαν πρὸς ἡμᾶς
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
ἵνα μηκέτι ὦμεν νήπιοι κλυδωνιζόμενοι καὶ περιφερόμενοι παντὶ ἀνέμῳ τῆς διδασκαλίας ἐν τῇ κυβείᾳ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐν πανουργίᾳ πρὸς τὴν μεθοδείαν τῆς πλάνης
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
αὐτοῖς δὲ τοῖς κλητοῖς Ἰουδαίοις τε καὶ Ἕλλησιν Χριστὸν θεοῦ δύναμιν καὶ θεοῦ σοφίαν·
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
οἱ δὲ προσεδόκων αὐτὸν μέλλειν πίμπρασθαι ἢ καταπίπτειν ἄφνω νεκρόν ἐπὶ πολὺ δὲ αὐτῶν προσδοκώντων καὶ θεωρούντων μηδὲν ἄτοπον εἰς αὐτὸν γινόμενον μεταβαλλόμενοι ἔλεγον θεόν αὐτὸν εἶναι
Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
לָכֵן אֶתֵּן אֶת-נְשֵׁיהֶם לַאֲחֵרִים שְׂדֽוֹתֵיהֶם לְיוֹרְשִׁים כִּי מִקָּטֹן וְעַד-גָּדוֹל כֻּלֹּה בֹּצֵעַ בָּצַע מִנָּבִיא וְעַד-כֹּהֵן כֻּלֹּה עֹשֶׂה שָּֽׁקֶר׃
Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
וַֽיַּאֲמִינוּ אַנְשֵׁי נִֽינְוֵה בֵּֽאלֹהִים וַיִּקְרְאוּ-צוֹם וַיִּלְבְּשׁוּ שַׂקִּים מִגְּדוֹלָם וְעַד-קְטַנָּֽם׃
So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
ἡδέως γὰρ ἀνέχεσθε τῶν ἀφρόνων φρόνιμοι ὄντες·
For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
