Ἄρτι γὰρ ἀνθρώπους πείθω ἢ τὸν θεόν ἢ ζητῶ ἀνθρώποις ἀρέσκειν εἰ γὰρ ἔτι ἀνθρώποις ἤρεσκον Χριστοῦ δοῦλος οὐκ ἂν ἤμην
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
καὶ μακάριος ἔσῃ ὅτι οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἀνταποδοῦναί σοι ἀνταποδοθήσεται γάρ σοι ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῶν δικαίων
And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
ὁ γὰρ ἐν κυρίῳ κληθεὶς δοῦλος ἀπελεύθερος κυρίου ἐστίν ὁμοίως καί ὁ ἐλεύθερος κληθεὶς δοῦλός ἐστιν Χριστοῦ
For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
μὴ ἀποβάλητε οὖν τὴν παῤῥησίαν ὑμῶν ἥτις ἔχει μισθαποδοσίαν μεγάλην
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
χωρὶς δὲ πίστεως ἀδύνατον εὐαρεστῆσαι· πιστεῦσαι γὰρ δεῖ τὸν προσερχόμενον τῷ θεῷ ὅτι ἔστιν καὶ τοῖς ἐκζητοῦσιν αὐτὸν μισθαποδότης γίνεται
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς· οὕτως γὰρ ἐδίωξαν τοὺς προφήτας τοὺς πρὸ ὑμῶν
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
μὴ κατ' ὀφθαλμοδουλείαν ὡς ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι ἀλλ' ὡς δοῦλοι τοῦ Χριστοῦ ποιοῦντες τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ ψυχῆς
Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
רָשָׁע עֹשֶׂה פְעֻלַּת-שָׁקֶר וְזֹרֵעַ צְדָקָה שֶׂכֶר אֱמֶֽת׃
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Let no man of your reward beguile you in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Ὅταν δὲ νηστεύητε μὴ γίνεσθε ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ σκυθρωποί ἀφανίζουσιν γὰρ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύοντες· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
יְשַׁלֵּם יְהוָה פָּֽעֳלֵךְ וּתְהִי מַשְׂכֻּרְתֵּךְ שְׁלֵמָה מֵעִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר-בָּאת לַֽחֲסוֹת תַּֽחַת-כְּנָפָֽיו׃
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
τῷ δὲ ἐργαζομένῳ ὁ μισθὸς οὐ λογίζεται κατὰ χάριν ἀλλὰ κατὰ τό ὀφείλημα
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
εἰ γὰρ ἑκὼν τοῦτο πράσσω μισθὸν ἔχω· εἰ δὲ ἄκων οἰκονομίαν πεπίστευμαι·
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
