Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

הַנּוֹתֵן תְּשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים הַפּוֹצֶה אֶת-דָּוִד עַבְדּוֹ מֵחֶרֶב רָעָֽה׃
It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
וַיַּךְ אוֹתָם שׁוֹק עַל-יָרֵךְ מַכָּה גְדוֹלָה וַיֵּרֶד וַיֵּשֶׁב בִּסְעִיף סֶלַע עֵיטָֽם׃
And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
καὶ εἴρηκέν μοι· Ἀρκεῖ σοι ἡ χάρις μου ἡ γὰρ δύναμις μου ἐν ἀσθενείᾳ τελειοῦται ἥδιστα οὖν μᾶλλον καυχήσομαι ἐν ταῖς ἀσθενείαις μου· ἵνα ἐπισκηνώσῃ ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἡ δύναμις τοῦ Χριστοῦ
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of may Christ rest upon me.

And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
וַיַּעַל יֽוֹנָתָן עַל-יָדָיו וְעַל-רַגְלָיו וְנֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו אַֽחֲרָיו וַֽיִּפְּלוּ לִפְנֵי יֽוֹנָתָן וְנֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו מְמוֹתֵת אַֽחֲרָֽיו׃
And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.
וַיָּבֹא גִדְעוֹן הַיַּרְדֵּנָה עֹבֵר הוּא וּשְׁלֹשׁ-מֵאוֹת הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ עֲיֵפִים וְרֹֽדְפִֽים׃
And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
וַיַּרְא אֲרָם כִּי נִגַּף לִפְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיֵּאָֽסְפוּ יָֽחַד׃
And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.
וַֽיְהִי אַֽחֲרֵי-כֵן וַיַּךְ דָּוִד אֶת-פְּלִשְׁתִּים וַיַּכְנִיעֵם וַיִּקַּח דָּוִד אֶת-מֶתֶג הָֽאַמָּה מִיַּד פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
וַיָּבֹא גִדְעוֹן וּמֵאָה-אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-אִתּוֹ בִּקְצֵה הַֽמַּחֲנֶה רֹאשׁ הָֽאַשְׁמֹרֶת הַתִּֽיכוֹנָה אַךְ הָקֵם הֵקִימוּ אֶת-הַשֹּֽׁמְרִים וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ בַּשּׁוֹפָרוֹת וְנָפוֹץ הַכַּדִּים אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדָֽם׃
So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
וַיַּרְא וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל-נַפְשׁוֹ וַיָּבֹא בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע אֲשֶׁר לִֽיהוּדָה וַיַּנַּח אֶֽת-נַעֲרוֹ שָֽׁם׃
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
אַךְ יַד אֲחִיקָם בֶּן-שָׁפָן הָיְתָה אֶֽת-יִרְמְיָהוּ לְבִלְתִּי תֵּת-אֹתוֹ בְיַד-הָעָם לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃
Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
הוּא-בָא עַד-לֶחִי וּפְלִשְׁתִּים הֵרִיעוּ לִקְרָאתוֹ וַתִּצְלַח עָלָיו רוּחַ יְהוָה וַתִּֽהְיֶינָה הָֽעֲבֹתִים אֲשֶׁר עַל-זְרֽוֹעוֹתָיו כַּפִּשְׁתִּים אֲשֶׁר בָּֽעֲרוּ בָאֵשׁ וַיִּמַּסּוּ אֱסוּרָיו מֵעַל יָדָֽיו׃
And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
וֶֽאֱלִישָׁע יֹשֵׁב בְּבֵיתוֹ וְהַזְּקֵנִים יֹֽשְׁבִים אִתּוֹ וַיִּשְׁלַח אִישׁ מִלְּפָנָיו בְּטֶרֶם יָבֹא הַמַּלְאָךְ אֵלָיו וְהוּא׀ אָמַר אֶל-הַזְּקֵנִים הַרְּאִיתֶם כִּֽי-שָׁלַח בֶּן-הַֽמְרַצֵּחַ הַזֶּה לְהָסִיר אֶת-רֹאשִׁי רְאוּ׀ כְּבֹא הַמַּלְאָךְ סִגְרוּ הַדֶּלֶת וּלְחַצְתֶּם אֹתוֹ בַּדֶּלֶת הֲלוֹא קוֹל רַגְלֵי אֲדֹנָיו אַֽחֲרָֽיו׃
But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
בְּֽרָעָב פָּֽדְךָ מִמָּוֶת וּבְמִלְחָמָה מִידֵי חָֽרֶב׃
In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְשַׁעְיָהוּ קְחוּ דְּבֶלֶת תְּאֵנִים וַיִּקְחוּ וַיָּשִׂימוּ עַֽל-הַשְּׁחִין וַיֶּֽחִי׃
And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
בֵּאדַיִן נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר הִתְמְלִי חֱמָא וּצְלֵם אַנְפּוֹהִי אֶשְׁתַּנִּו עַל-שַׁדְרַךְ מֵישַׁךְ וַעֲבֵד נְגוֹ עָנֵה וְאָמַר לְמֵזֵא לְאַתּוּנָא חַד-שִׁבְעָה עַל דִּי חֲזֵה לְמֵזְיֵֽהּ׃
Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
הִרְכַּבְתָּ אֱנוֹשׁ לְרֹאשֵׁנוּ בָּֽאנוּ-בָאֵשׁ וּבַמַּיִם וַתּוֹצִיאֵנוּ לָֽרְוָיָֽה׃
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
