יְהוָה׀ אוֹרִי וְיִשְׁעִי מִמִּי אִירָא יְהוָה מָֽעוֹז-חַיַּי מִמִּי אֶפְחָֽד׃
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
עֶזְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃
Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
προσερχώμεθα οὖν μετὰ παῤῥησίας τῷ θρόνῳ τῆς χάριτος ἵνα λάβωμεν ἔλεον καὶ χάριν εὕρωμεν εἰς εὔκαιρον βοήθειαν
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
בֵּאלֹהִים אֲהַלֵּל דְּבָרוֹ בֵּאלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אִירָא מַה-יַּעֲשֶׂה בָשָׂר לִֽי׃
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
בֵּֽאלֹהִים בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אִירָא מַה-יַּעֲשֶׂה אָדָם לִֽי׃
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
καὶ μὴ φοβηθῆτε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεινόντων τὸ σῶμα τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν μὴ δυναμένων ἀποκτεῖναι· φοβηθήτε δὲ μᾶλλον τὸν δυνάμενον καὶ ψυχὴν καὶ σῶμα ἀπολέσαι ἐν γεέννῃ
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
הִנֵּה אֱלֹהִים עֹזֵר לִי אֲדֹנָי בְּֽסֹמְכֵי נַפְשִֽׁי׃
Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
נַפְשֵׁנוּ חִכְּתָה לַֽיהוָה עֶזְרֵנוּ וּמָגִנֵּנוּ הֽוּא׃
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
כִּֽי-הָיִיתָ עֶזְרָתָה לִּי וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ אֲרַנֵּֽן׃
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
עֲנוֹ שַׁדְרַךְ מֵישַׁךְ וַעֲבֵד נְגוֹ וְאָמְרִין לְמַלְכָּא נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּר לָֽא-חַשְׁחִין אֲנַחְנָא עַל-דְּנָה פִּתְגָם לַהֲתָבוּתָֽךְ׃
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
לוּלֵי יְהוָה עֶזְרָתָה לִּי כִּמְעַט׀ שָֽׁכְנָה דוּמָה נַפְשִֽׁי׃
Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
אַשְׁרֶיךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל מִי כָמוֹךָ עַם נוֹשַׁע בַּֽיהוָה מָגֵן עֶזְרֶךָ וַֽאֲשֶׁר-חֶרֶב גַּֽאֲוָתֶךָ וְיִכָּֽחֲשׁוּ אֹֽיְבֶיךָ לָךְ וְאַתָּה עַל-בָּֽמוֹתֵימוֹ תִדְרֹֽךְ׃
Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
אַל-תִּֽירְאִי תּוֹלַעַת יַֽעֲקֹב מְתֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲנִי עֲזַרְתִּיךְ נְאֻם-יְהוָה וְגֹאֲלֵךְ קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
