Καὶ ἰδού τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη εἰς δύο ἀπὸ ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐσείσθη καὶ αἱ πέτραι ἐσχίσθησαν
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
τοῦτο δηλοῦντος τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγίου μήπω πεφανερῶσθαι τὴν τῶν ἁγίων ὁδὸν ἔτι τῆς πρώτης σκηνῆς ἐχούσης στάσιν
The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the of all holiest was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
וַיָּבִאוּ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים אֶת-אֲרוֹן בְּרִית-יְהוָה אֶל-מְקוֹמוֹ אֶל-דְּבִיר הַבַּיִת אֶל-קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים אֶל-תַּחַת כַּנְפֵי הַכְּרוּבִֽים׃
And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת-הַפָּרֹכֶת תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְכַרְמִיל וּבוּץ וַיַּעַל עָלָיו כְּרוּבִֽים׃
And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
וּבִלַּע בָּהָר הַזֶּה פְּנֵֽי-הַלּוֹט׀ הַלּוֹט עַל-כָּל-הָֽעַמִּים וְהַמַּסֵּכָה הַנְּסוּכָה עַל-כָּל-הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
