And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy stoop down and to unloose.
Προσδοκῶντος δὲ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ διαλογιζομένων πάντων ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν περὶ τοῦ Ἰωάννου μήποτε αὐτὸς εἴη ὁ Χριστός
And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether or not; he were the Christ,
αὐτοὶ ὑμεῖς μοι μαρτυρεῖτε ὅτι εἶπον Οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὁ Χριστός ἀλλ' ὅτι Ἀπεσταλμένος εἰμὶ ἔμπροσθεν ἐκείνου
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
