Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
πῶς δύνασθε ὑμεῖς πιστεῦσαι δόξαν παρὰ ἀλλήλων λαμβάνοντες καὶ τὴν δόξαν τὴν παρὰ τοῦ μόνου θεοῦ οὐ ζητεῖτε
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, from and seek not the honour that cometh God only?
οὐδεὶς δύναται ἐλθεῖν πρός με ἐὰν μὴ ὁ πατὴρ ὁ πέμψας με ἑλκύσῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἐγὼ ἀναστήσω αὐτὸν τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise up him at the last day.
לֹא יָדְעוּ וְלֹא יָבִינוּ כִּי טַח מֵֽרְאוֹת עֵֽינֵיהֶם מֵהַשְׂכִּיל לִבֹּתָֽם׃
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
