Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.
וַיַּצְעֵק שְׁמוּאֵל אֶת-הָעָם אֶל-יְהוָה הַמִּצְפָּֽה׃
And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh;
וְהָלַךְ מִדֵּי שָׁנָה בְּשָׁנָה וְסָבַב בֵּֽית-אֵל וְהַגִּלְגָּל וְהַמִּצְפָּה וְשָׁפַט אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵת כָּל-הַמְּקוֹמוֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִי אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-עָלָה בַקָּהָל מִכָּל-שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-יְהוָה כִּי הַשְּׁבוּעָה הַגְּדוֹלָה הָֽיְתָה לַֽאֲשֶׁר לֹֽא-עָלָה אֶל-יְהוָה הַמִּצְפָּה לֵאמֹר מוֹת יוּמָֽת׃
And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came up not with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came up not to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.
