Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ λέγειν αὐτὸν ταῦτα ἐπάρασά τις γυνὴ φωνὴν ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου εἶπεν αὐτῷ Μακαρία ἡ κοιλία ἡ βαστάσασά σε καὶ μαστοὶ οὓς ἐθήλασας
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
וַתִּדֹּר נֶדֶר וַתֹּאמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אִם-רָאֹה תִרְאֶה׀ בָּֽעֳנִי אֲמָתֶךָ וּזְכַרְתַּנִי וְלֹֽא-תִשְׁכַּח אֶת-אֲמָתֶךָ וְנָֽתַתָּה לַאֲמָֽתְךָ זֶרַע אֲנָשִׁים וּנְתַתִּיו לַֽיהוָה כָּל-יְמֵי חַיָּיו וּמוֹרָה לֹֽא-יַעֲלֶה עַל-רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃
And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
שֶׁבְּשִׁפְלֵנוּ זָכַר לָנוּ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃
Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:
καὶ εἰσελθὼν ὁ ἄγγελος πρὸς αὐτὴν εἶπεν Χαῖρε κεχαριτωμένη ὁ κύριος μετὰ σοῦ εὐλογημένη σὺ ἐν γυναιξίν
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
מֵקִים מֵֽעָפָר דָּל מֵֽאַשְׁפֹּת יָרִים אֶבְיוֹן לְהוֹשִׁיב עִם-נְדִיבִים וְכִסֵּא כָבוֹד יַנְחִלֵם כִּי לַֽיהוָה מְצֻקֵי אֶרֶץ וַיָּשֶׁת עֲלֵיהֶם תֵּבֵֽל׃
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.
וַתֹּאמֶר לֵאָה בְּאָשְׁרִי כִּי אִשְּׁרוּנִי בָּנוֹת וַתִּקְרָא אֶת-שְׁמוֹ אָשֵֽׁר׃
And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Ἀκούσατε ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί· οὐχ ὁ θεὸς ἐξελέξατο τοὺς πτωχοὺς τοῦ κόσμου τούτου πλουσίους ἐν πίστει καὶ κληρονόμους τῆς βασιλείας ἡς ἐπηγγείλατο τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
καὶ ἀνεφώνησεν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ εἶπεν Εὐλογημένη σὺ ἐν γυναιξίν καὶ εὐλογημένος ὁ καρπὸς τῆς κοιλίας σου
And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
וְעַתָּה כֹּֽה-תֹאמַר לְעַבְדִּי לְדָוִד כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אֲנִי לְקַחְתִּיךָ מִן-הַנָּוֶה מֵֽאַחַר הַצֹּאן לִֽהְיוֹת נָגִיד עַל-עַמִּי עַל-יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
פָּנָה אֶל-תְּפִלַּת הָעַרְעָר וְלֹֽא-בָזָה אֶת-תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
