And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

כִּֽי-עָזְבוּ הַלְוִיִּם אֶת-מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶם וַֽאֲחֻזָּתָם וַיֵּֽלְכוּ לִֽיהוּדָה וְלִירֽוּשָׁלִָם כִּֽי-הִזְנִיחָם יָֽרָבְעָם וּבָנָיו מִכַּהֵן לַֽיהוָֽה׃
For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:
וְקִדַּשְׁתִּי אֶת-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְאֶת-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְאֶת-אַֽהֲרֹן וְאֶת-בָּנָיו אֲקַדֵּשׁ לְכַהֵן לִֽי׃
And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office.
וְחָֽגַרְתָּ אֹתָם אַבְנֵט אַֽהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו וְחָֽבַשְׁתָּ לָהֶם מִגְבָּעֹת וְהָֽיְתָה לָהֶם כְּהֻנָּה לְחֻקַּת עוֹלָם וּמִלֵּאתָ יַֽד-אַהֲרֹן וְיַד-בָּנָֽיו׃
And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
וְאַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ אִתְּךָ תִּשְׁמְרוּ אֶת-כְּהֻנַּתְכֶם לְכָל-דְּבַר הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וּלְמִבֵּית לַפָּרֹכֶת וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם עֲבֹדַת מַתָּנָה אֶתֵּן אֶת-כְּהֻנַּתְכֶם וְהַזָּר הַקָּרֵב יוּמָֽת׃
Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
וַיָּמָת נָדָב וַֽאֲבִיהוּא לִפְנֵי אֲבִיהֶם וּבָנִים לֹֽא-הָיוּ לָהֶם וַֽיְכַהֲנוּ אֶלְעָזָר וְאִֽיתָמָֽר׃
But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
