These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
καὶ αὐτὸς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Ὦ ἀνόητοι καὶ βραδεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ τοῦ πιστεύειν ἐπὶ πᾶσιν οἷς ἐλάλησαν οἱ προφῆται·
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
τότε διήνοιξεν αὐτῶν τὸν νοῦν τοῦ συνιέναι τὰς γραφάς·
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐ συνῆκαν τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς
And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
Ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἵνα μὴ σκανδαλισθῆτε
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
